  1. Rossco is an enigma !!! Most of us love him to bits ... his dedication to ICT, his tackling (when he gets it right) and his sheer determination endear him to us all. He is one who has been written off as not good enough each time we climbed a division yet in our first season in the SPL he became the first player to win every single end of season award and has done well or at least OK every season since. When he is on form and playing well, he is great to watch, but he also has his moments where the red mist descends or where he mis-times things and I think this season he is the most booked player in the SPL !!! I can see the reasoning for suggesting he could do well at RM - because of his forward runs. I can see the reasoning for suggesting he could be a centre half - with well-timed tackles and his sheer physical presence. But I think he is better suited to his current role for those reasons too. His forward runs are not always of sufficient quality for him to be a winger, and his tackling can be good but it can also be clumsy as Libero said. I also dont think he can ping a ball Bobby Mann style out of defence and his headers can go anywhere (head like a 'threepenny bit' as someone once said to me). If he is out on the right of defence, he is less likely to give away crucial fouls or penalties when he mistimes his tackles, and if he is "rampaging forward" (I like the descriptiveness of that) as a defender then he gives us another dimension than if he were doing the same thing as a winger. We need another centre half, one who has the best qualities of Bobby Mann and Darren Dods (tackling, passing out of defence, leadership) and neither Tokely or Proctor (or Hastings moving inside as he has done for Canada) can provide that.

With the onset of personal abuse between posters, and other posts levelled against Graeme's family that - factual or not - are contrary to the forum rules we have had in place for 15 years, this thread is now closed.

Its not a shareholder meeting, its a trust members' meeting that shareholders have been invited to attend if they wish.
  5. I notice Dean Windass has just been released .... he might be the "experienced" striker .... he is 39 !!!

you can attempt to narrow the field as much as you like in an effort to minimise the amount of bad feeling, but I asked that very question yesterday and the answer that came back was that it does not seem to be just a few people on CTO ... its a significant number of "normal" fans who have no affiliation to any website or to any particular group other than those they attend matches with ....... or in some cases, used to attend matches with.
  7. Caley Thistle could actually turn this into a positive ..... If it happens, how about asking the HFL about the reserves competing in the Highland League ? It has been mentioned before, but might be a good option
  8. Lets not get bogged down here ........ The Supporters Trust board meet once a month and obviously (like the rest of us) have concerns over recent performances. Those concerns can be seen by the contents of their two most recent press releases. They now want to bring a wider selection of their existing members into the debate and see what those members would like them to do next or what the "mood" of their membership is. Nothing sinister, stupid or irresponsible in that. Its simply a case of "We are concerned ... are you? If so, how would you like us to handle this going forward ?" There may well be calls from the floor for Brewster's head, there may be calls for the resignation of others, that is in the hands of the members attending, but given that the Trust has a 10% voting right, and also owns more than 10,000 additional shares, and likely has proxies from many other shareholders, then the invitation to attend that was extended to shareholders also seems quite sensible because it would allow the Trust Board to gauge their opinions too and see whether there is any broad based appetite for shareholder action. This action could be something as small as a further press release backed by many small shareholders asking the board to reconsider their current position and share their concerns or it could go to the other end of the scale and be a call for a vote of no confidence in the current board, or it could be something in the middle. At the end of the day this meeting could go in any direction - its up to the fans attending to be open and honest and say what they believe and what they would like to happen. No vitriol, no sneakiness, no payback for grudges held, no ulterior motives ... just speak from the heart about what you believe is in the best interests of ICTFC.
  9. from a financial point of view I can understand the idea of scrapping it from a developmental point of view however, the idea is ludicrous ..... the natural progression for youngsters is youth -> U19 -> reserves -> first team and for injured or off-form players, the reserves can be a place to get their match fitness or form back. A backward step if they do cancel it which may well do a lot of damage to the game.

trawled through some of the pics I took for the club shop a few seasons back and this is the tie we used to have ......
  12. I havent changed my opinion. I have merely posted the summary of a couple of conversations I had and invited responses .... not sure what the fuss is about or why it is being suggested that I have done a 180 ???
  13. didnt say that ...... said Soccerbase is 'decent' but not always totally accurate. looks like they are either a game behind or have missed a game somewhere.
  14. Dont shoot the messenger LOL ....... I was just putting across my experience from yesterday !!! Its sometimes hard to see the big picture from so far away, and as I discovered on my two trips home this year (both of which involved home wins !!!) the viewpoint you can form from postings on the website can sometimes be different to the reality you see when you are there in person talking to others and seeing it for yourself ..... Personally, I still believe that CB is not the man for the job, but for the first time in many weeks, I heard a viewpoint that offered some sympathy towards him so decided to make a comment to that effect and ask the question from others who go to games rather than listen to or watch them from afar. Johnboy, although its simplistic, and we could dissect it several different ways, I think you are basically right when you say that I think we would all like to get back to that state of affairs rather than the talk of battle plans which inevitably includes "collateral damage" somewhere along the way !
  15. I spoke to two people yesterday who are both fervent ICT supporters and each had a couple of points to make to me that seem to be at odds with what is being said on here by a lot of people, and at odds with my own views, but as I respect both of them, I felt I had to at least acknowledge this. The support for ICT of these two people cannot, should not and in my case will not be called into question ... they have been to hundreds of games both at home and away since the club was formed and have held season books since the first season after we moved into the TCS. They are neither stupid nor naive but they presented me with a different viewpoint. In both cases, although concerned, they are still behind Brew and suggested that the "groundswell" we have been talking about is not as widespread as it seems when reading these pages. Comments ? However, both of them acknowledged that January is crucial and they themselves see the Partick and Hamilton games as the straws that could break their backs if they go against us ... not so much the Partick game, but definitely the Accies game.
  16. We are 5067 down on total attendance from this time last year when we had also played each team once. Our average attendance (all teams) is 4399 - down from 4752 Our average attendance (excluding OF) is 3799 - down from 4239

yet another duplicate thread. please do not start duplicate threads when there are already a multitude of pre-existing threads discussing the same subject. If you persist in doing this, we will put your account into moderated status.

  22. exactly the same now : -17 !!! Hamilton F19 / A36 - Pts 20 Falkirk F22 / A31 - Pts 18 ICT F20 / A37 - Pts 17
  23. We have now also conceded more than Hamilton !
  24. so long as you mean Rangers are still in second (or even third) gear, I agree completely .... 0-3 now !
  25. Whilst we are not getting hammered, its hardly a riveting performance from either side. My only plus point today is that Cowie is having the sort of game that will see other teams not bothering to offer him a contract.
