    The club will no doubt argue that this is exactly what is happening. the wording of the statement is literally a 'don't travel' notification with a pretty passive aggressive dig at the SPFL. "because of our continued unprecedented injury situation and the lack of assistance we applied for via the proper channels at the SPFL, the club will have no choice but to play a team in this tie which will not include many of our current 1st team squad." If there is blowback, they will argue they asked for assistance, were given none and simply played the strongest team they could. It would be hard to argue that given recent team lines.

    Agree. You put the best team you can on the park in every game. Don't risk anyone who is injured or not fully fit but put out the best team you can from those available and only put the youngsters in where you have no option or where you feel they are good enough. Bigger worry is why we have so many injured? Is it the training regime? lack of recovery plans? putting players in too early after injury? Poor medical routines? I don't recall us ever having things quite so bad. ever.

    It is with great sadness that we let everyone know of the passing of one of our site moderators 'Kingsmills'. Colin had been a member of the site for many years, definitely someone you would consider one of the originals. He was also a moderator on the site for much of his time here. Like all mods, he had his fair share of run-ins with some posters but as far as I am concerned always handled things pretty fairly. To my knowledge, I had never met Colin in person as I had already moved to Canada when he became a mod and we never (knowingly) crossed paths at the stadium but in email or PM dealings with him it was always pleasant. Condolences and respects to his family and friends.

    ok, thanks guys, thats more for me to dig into! ?I do wonder if it is ad related as thats the only thing I can think of that would be added or would add additional processes. There is a lot going on in the background when you load a page but those are really the only external things and as there are no site errors in the logs then its kind of the first place i need to look. The ads are auto added by google and I too have noticed the in-between threads ads which are too many. I may need to revert to manually placing them so I can control how many and where.

    Was/Were the image(s) from Facebook? I do see one entry in the system log (not an error log) that notes the issue below.     You feckin jinxed it now!! I did update the software version late last week so maybe there were some bug fixes that were undocumented that got things ticking along. That and I paid the bill for the next 12 months of hosting to our provider! ( )

    Its an off the wall comparison, and I am sure Rossco would be elated to be compared to him, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still playing at the very top level at the age of 41. I was witness to his time in MLS with LA Galaxy where he scored his 500th career goal in Toronto at the TFC supporters section end (and a thing of beauty it was too - even though he ended up on the losing side thankfully). Even after LA he was not ready to retire and headed to Serie A which is pretty impressive considering everyone in Europe seems to regard MLS as a retirement league (it is not). The point is that he looks after himself, has a football brain, and still able to function at that level. There are games in the last few years, where even past 40 he is still outshining all the 20 somethings around him. If he dropped down to Serie B or C (not that he would - ego would not allow it) he could likely play until he was late 40s. I remember Rossco's playing career with fondness and one of the things about that is people wrote him off year after year, each time we got promoted. Even after he had been part of the team from the bottom division all the way to the Premiership people still questioned his reliability and his football pedigree. Its economies of scale, and he has put a little more beef on than Zlatan, but I don't see why Rossco can't still play in the HFL if he has the desire? He has had a gradual slide down the ranks of the leagues in terms of teams played for ... us of course, then County, Brora, St Duthus, Loch Ness, and now a step back in league terms to Nairn. If he is enjoying his football, is remaining fit, and not getting injured then why not.

    Login is cookie related so I will typically just clear cookies and login again. I get this on a few sites, especially work-related ones where I might have multiple logins with different permissions (not the case here but just saying). Cookies seem to get confused or corrupted. Yes, the ranks are a little convoluted for those who are site or player sponsors, especially when people are part of multiple groups and may also be a mod or admin. Its supposed to auto-promote from full-member to player or site sponsor and each has different privileges. That works well. When you are in multiple groups i typically tweak it manually. These are Google Auto-Ads. Everyone except site sponsor gets these (including mods/admin). This is the one I am focusing on. I have not had problems posting but a couple of times I did notice I could not use the arrow keys to adjust my cursor position in the editor. Not sure if this is an editor issue, conflicting scripts, or something else but going to try and look at it and see if anyone else has reported it to the board software providers. I may need to reset the editor and go back to the default settings to see if that fixes it but will see where this leads.

    More information about "RIP: John Sutherland MBE"
    Many older fans will remember/recognise the name of John Sutherland. Sadly, he has passed away at the age of 71yrs earlier this week. For those that didn't know John, he was the stadium manager at ICT for a number of years in the days before we had a CEO. The roles were somewhat similar, and the stadium manager ran all the non-football activities of the club whilst the football manager and the director of football took care of all the footballing activities. I had the pleasure of dealing with John a lot over the years as it related to the website. He was in charge at the stadium in the days when David Sutherland and Ken Thomson were running things in the boardroom and kept the stadium running in an organised and regimental fashion befitting of his previous role as a captain in the Queens Own Highlanders. You could never be sure when John was being serious with you or winding you up as you discussed things, until you saw the smirk and realised he got you again! One of his other roles at the club was as the matchday security chief and many would perhaps recognise him from the entrance to the tunnel in the days before we had the pull-out cover ... there were many times that myself and our motley crew got a finger wag, a chuckle and a wink from John after a particularly good wind-up of opposition players, managers or the referee. My personal condolences go to his family, and we extend those condolences from the site also. Service will be on Wednesday 9th November as per the notice in the Courier.
