This is so wrong from FIFA. If they try to justify this decision in any way then they are far worse and more morally corrupt than I gave them zero credit for already ... We should all stand in support of Poland, Sweden and the Czechs in their current playoff scenario … Also, if the game against Ukraine goes ahead in Glasgow next month - which I doubt - then I think as a nation we should forego the lion rampant or saltire and every home supporter should wave a Ukrainian flag (or perhaps a blue and yellow saltire). It may not be much, but 50,000 tartan army members creating an atmosphere like only the tartan army can, sends a message of solidarity to Ukrainians. Scot Gardiner and backroom staff - Is a big clear out required? Issue is obviously way bigger than just Dodds...
Normally means what Yngwie said .... I have also seen the odd occasion - not necessarily at ICT - where players (or managers) have wanted to move and the "club doesn't stand in their way" then they 'mutually terminate contract' to remove any contract issues. I could be wrong but I also think that a similar term was used a couple of times when players have left the club under a cloud and may or may not have ended up dismissed for gross misconduct if they had tried to stay. Doing it this way saves face for the player and the club from any unfair dismissal accusations ... Have also seen it used when a player wants to move to another club outside the transfer window ... cant do that unless a free agent so likely some confidential conversations and a sudden mutual termination ....

I suspect he got an appearance fee from the Beeb rather than any wage. Self-employed consultant or something like that. Not as lucrative as some might think.

If only real life were that simple. Its not a matter of (solely) having the guts to sack anyone. You need money too. There is such a thing as employment law and when dealing with fixed term contracts, the reality is that we basically have to negotiate if we want to pay someone off to end their contract. That's where 'mutual termination' is spouted, it means we negotiated and came to a deal. If no deal can be reached, then we might have to buy out that contract (put them on gardening leave or give them a cheque and send them on their way) but unless there is some form of gross misconduct, and however offensive we find it, losing a football match is not in that category, we cant just sack them without cost or consequence. As for the 'money excuse' ... what excuse? We haven't got a pot to p*** in. Necessary cost or not, if you don't have it, then you cant spend it ... ask Gretna or other teams who went to the wall how 'necessary' some of their financial transactions seem now. We've been out of the Premiership too long to get decent money from the SPFL, we are on hopefully the backend of a pandemic that has seen far more lucrative businesses than football clubs go to the wall, and we traditionally make a loss each year if we don't have some form of windfall from TV, Cup runs or something else. Keeping us afloat is somewhat of an achievement in that respect. I do agree that any replacement does not need to be expensive ... but who? and how do you define expensive if you dont have any budget for replacing staff? Don't forget that any manager we put in place, per UEFA club rules, needs their badges if they want to coach at highest levels or be in the progress of obtaining them within the next 6 months if we get back to Premiership so that in itself means they will want decent compensation for their role. We cant just hop down the Bught and offer the job to someone from the Amateur leagues ... so again, talk of money is not 'pish', its realism! We have had mixed success with inexperienced managers - Brewster being good first time round, but terrible second time and Foran who we all wanted to do really well unfortunately being a disappointment. Dougie Imrie seems to have started well, a bit like his terrier like rise through the leagues as a player, perhaps we need someone like that or with that type of personality and drive. I like the idea of someone like Rosscoe if he is up for it and if he has done his badges, but not sure if he has those or if he has done any coaching ... big difference in talking about the game for the media and doing it for real as a manager ... as we have discovered! Would not want him if he has not worked his way through those as I would hate for him to tarnish his legacy as a club legend. Would also love Charlie to take another shot at it, but thats not going to happen. He hated the goldfish bowl last time around and seems happier behind the scenes. - Do I like our results? NO. - Do I think that BD should remain? I am rapidly approaching the NO camp. - Do I think he should take others in the backroom with him? YES if they cannot do the job. - Should the CEO go? Not sure. We do seem to be top heavy in 'execs' but given he has overseen us through the financial and COVID storms for now, then perhaps he is not doing as bad a job as some think? I really don't know. Pixellot seems to have been his biggest mistake so far but that was rectified by finally listening about resources we already had that were miles better. The single biggest thing he, and the club, can do now, and must do now is to communicate. They have been terrible at that for a long time now, and its not a good time to be silent!

Retro Kits
actually, just found another, slightly less blurry. no league badges on arms, but definitely the wrong badge. The other thing about this shirt is the CityLink sponsor logo was an iron-on logo so tends to bend after a while. This picture looks perfectly flat and the borders of the writing are also wrong - look at left and right margins.

Retro Kits
Definitely fake as hell .... I think the shading looks all wrong (although that could be the picture) but the glaring error is the badge. That's an Inverness Caledonian Thistle badge not a Caledonian Thistle one. I don't have a good pic of the 94 kit, but this pic that came from the club back then (of Mike Andrew in full flow), zoomed in as far as I can without getting too pixellated shows how big and clunky the badge was. A similar picture from the following year shows it more clearly. There does not appear to be SFL badges on the 94/95 kit otherwise that too would have been a red flag for a supposedly authentic shirt.

Billy Dodds
Its a hard job, and like others I would say cut him some slack ... He is trying to manage our team with basically nothing in terms of resources. The pandemic has put paid to a lot of income and any measures in place to help are temporary and minimal to say the least. We are at the right end of the table and the recent activity in the window to release Duku and get a few bodies in that might turn things around are an acknowledgement that things need to change. We can all look down the road to Rugby Park or elsewhere and wish it were us (except Starks Park), but Killie are betting the farm on getting back up in one season - just like we did after our first relegation - and if it fails they are in deep s***. We can replace Dodds if you want, but then the new manager would have the same players, and even less finances to work with once we deduct any payoff needed for him and any of the backroom team that might have to go too ... Who do you suggest that would provide the spark that Dodds cannot in your eyes?

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
Remember him well ... Mo Johnston signed him for Toronto FC in 2007 ... scored 3 goals in 19 appearances. Not exactly a box-office success here !

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
Its always the same ... but realistically, as the saying goes, you can only pi** with the co** you got !!! Whilst we all love our team, in the eyes of the rest of the world, and regardless of whether it is a right or wrong perception, we are a small provincial club in the middle of nowhere with piss poor crowds playing outside the top division in Scotland, a league which is not highly rated, and with no money to spend. Our benefactors have put in money as and where they can, but unlike some other clubs, that too is not a bottomless pit. We cannot force players to come to Inverness, on loan or otherwise, just as we cant force existing players to sign longer terms deals .. and while we all know that we are only an hour or two flight from London or Amsterdam and therefore the rest of the world by plane, the rest of the world still seems to think we have steam powered carriages coming up the single track A9 to the quaint village of Inversnecky. Where I think we can and must do better is in our vision for loans ... We seem very narrow focused when there is a wide world out there. If any of our staff have contacts in the game at other clubs in the UK through agents or employment then utilise them. These can be clubs at home or abroad. Barry's played for a few teams, Doddsy too and Robbo should have good contacts. Our CEO also has those within Scotland ..... I will also repeat myself about MLS .... its a great place to look for up and coming youngsters and with Canada now in the top 40 (fastest rising nation of 2021) and the USA at #11 the work permit situation is a lot easier ... I notice Dundee just signed ex-TFC player Jay Chapman from Miami for example, a workmanlike midfielder who didn't seem to have an issue with permits due to his involvement with the Canadian national team. Liam Fraser, previously at Toronto and on loan at Columbus for last year just signed for a second division Danish side and he would have done a job for us too and also would not have permit issues .... The point is that there are bound to be a lot of gems out there and some quick phone calls or emails to contacts they already have may bear fruit (pending those ITC papers).

January additions?
Every time I see the name Hector-Ingram I keep thinking of an old university friend who goes by that name. Not him though, he's a little older than a typical football player and living in Kuala Lumpur.

January additions?
Seems to be pretty well thought of in USL so a move from Texas to California ..... Not in that league for the money though. Average salary in USL Championship is somewhere between US$40,000 to US$60,000 per year. (£30K-£45K per year or £865 per week at the top end of the scale!) ..... compare that to Jake Mulraney at Atlanta in MLS on $312K per year (ie. £230K or £4400 per week) Nice to see the ICT name getting a mention though ..... January additions?
When it makes the situation untenable at work, causes another employee to effectively resign unless the other is removed from the workplace (allegedly), and generally causes ill-will all round given that it all came to light during the other player's bereavement, then a mutual termination is sometimes the best thing .... I assume the club would have offered this, and he would have been free to sign for a new club immediately (?) ... perhaps the player did not accept this and the club's legal advisors determined they had no way to play the "gross misconduct" card. I have seen people sacked all the time for things in their private life that got in the way of their professional life. Either way, if he turns up in Dundee it will be for the best all-round. Shame though, as without those shenanigans I feel his experience may have helped us to earn a few more points up to this stage of the season.

They said in the commentary that their server(s) got a bit inundated with season ticket holders who would otherwise be at the match not being able to go due to the restrictions. Seems like a pretty honest answer. Kudos to them for having a plan 'B' on vimeo even if it did mean some of us were able to watch a bit of the game for no charge.

Who will win the league?
Heart says we will win .... head says, whoever tweaks their squad wisely during this window and can build a little momentum. All the favourites have gone off the boil recently allowing the steady and workmanlike Arbroath to sit atop the table. Can they maintain that? or can ourselves, Raith, Killie or Partick put together a run .... going to be an interesting few months. Almost as interesting at the bottom also .....
-
January additions?
Hope so .... If Gardyne was punted for what was alluded to earlier in the season then his wage should (hopefully) not be getting paid or at worst can be got rid off this month. There has never been any official announcement from the club and he hasn't signed for anyone else (yet) so perhaps he will just quietly turn up elsewhere during the window freeing us up that wage. Someone with similar on-field qualities would be good. Very important window for us this season, we are sitting nicely and a couple of additions in key areas could give us a little bump of momentum needed to sustain our push to the end of the season.

Wide Players
remember one game where one of the young guys was fouled badly, and in our part of the stand, the chant that started up was "Bobby's gonna get ya ...." repeated ad infinitum .... until he did 🙂 Bobby's distribution was at times sublime - I recall on more than one occasion where a 50 yard ping went from his foot to one of our players and led to a chance. Agree he was our best centre back.

Indeed - my second favourite goal after Archie Gemmill. James McFadden scored a few beauties for us too ... with that goal against the French being most memorable in my mind.
