January Transfer Window.
you could be right - in fairness to me, I wasnt actually slagging either of them off though. I think both will come good.

January Transfer Window.
Even though we changed a lot of personnel recently, I don't think we are that far away from having a very solid team - with the addition of someone to stop the leak of goals at the back and someone to bang em in at the front we would be pretty much sorted !!! Recent articles in the paper have said there is no real progress in Proctor's recovery so we dont have cover at RB if Rosscoe is injured or suspended (a situation that will arise soon given he now has 5 yellows) or playing crap. [Toronto FC's Marvell Wynne (USA international, young, solid defender with blazing pace, but not yet the finished article) would be a good capture but I imagine he is destined for England at the end of the MLS season (thats the rumour anyway) and we probably couldnt afford him]. I think we all acknowledge the need for another centre half - we do have Duff, McGuire, Munro and Hastings can also play there but each week we hear grumbles about errors in defence from one player or another that has cost us goals and possibly games. Not sure who the answer would be, or even if the answer is staring us in the face with some partnership of our existing players that is yet to 'click' but competition for places would at least keep everyone on their toes. Midfield I think we are OK - even with Patti going we still have Black, Duncan, Vigurs, Imrie, Cowie, McBain, Wilson and Sutherland (as well as Gillespie and Rennie). Up front worries me a little - We have Rooney and Barrowman who appear to be the first two names in the frame and neither of them is banging them in quite yet although they may do soon. Wood has potential and so does Rory if he can somehow put his reserve team confidence into first team games. Imrie can also play here too but depending on who is available in the window, perhaps we need to bring in a proven (veteran?) goalscorer until these young talents can show they can do it week in and week out.

CIS CUP FALKIRK
I unstickied it by mistake when removing some of the announcements and unstickying other posts (to reduce the amount of them that some people complain about). it has now been rectified I imagine the reason to be the same as it always was .... Supporters Busses are subsidised by the supporters club and much of that subsidy comes from membership fees and fund raising events. I believe they used to allow non members to travel on the busses a few years ago, but you paid an extra fiver or so for the first trip ... which coincidentally was the same amount as your membership .... ergo, you became a member.

How long before the EPL bubble bursts?
Although I tend to agree with the statement above, how many banks or businesses said something similar in the last few months ....... prior to their employees packing everything into cardboard boxes.

Markus
MP signed during the transfer window in January 2007 and made a total of 22 appearances (10 starts, 12 sub) and scored 3 times. 11 of his 22 appearances (and two of his three goals) were from Jan - May 2007 and he did show potential from what I can remember of the comments made by fans at the time. However, last season (2007/08) he managed only 4 starts and 7 appearances from the subs bench. His 4 starts (and his sub appearances) were all between January and April 2008. Prior to that date and once again after it he was out injured !!! ICT simply cannot afford a player who can only play 4 months of the year (Jan - April/May each year !!) and be on the treatment table the rest of it.

Reserves vs Hearts
According to the link, it was for comments made to the referee - not clear if it was a second yellow or a straight red - but it would have had to be something quite nasty to get a straight red !

Markus
I think some did rate him, but unfortunately he spent more time out injured during his ICT career than he did being available for selection. I think I am right in saying that his injury was going to keep him out until at least January and personally, I would rather the club freed up that wage so they might be able to make decent offers to the likes of Munro, Black, Cowie etc.

Markus
Its a shame as he did seem to have some potential but I think its the right decision given his history of injury. Good luck to him, and best wishes for a full recovery from this (and future) injuries

Paterson Checks Into Rehab
Indeed. The first time I met Steve was in the Boardroom at TCS when myself and a couple of others were guests of Tennents for a cup game. We went in after the final whistle and were immediately put at ease when we saw him in the corner downing pints of guinness in about 4 seconds flat ! hope he can win this battle with his demons.

Team v Yinited
same team as last week, same tactics of playing it on the deck, and hopefully a performance from Ike that is more like the last 75 of last week than the first 15.

Billy Dodds Banner or chant
agree with Dalneigh Caley further up the page ... banners would need to be clever rather than offensive to get away with them, chants can be a bit nearer the knuckle ! As Billys predictions are pretty much DUDS I was trying to think of a play on words with DUDS rather than Dodds

Contract talks
personally, I would be happy to tie up the aforementioned players (including IKE) on long term deals. Those from the area such as Granty and Ike are probably going to be easier to deal with but its equally important to try and sit down and talk with the likes of Black, Cowie, and any other players - such as the young lads - that should be forming the nucleus of our team for a few years to come. At the end of the day, the club can offer what it can offer, we all know that other clubs can offer more if they want to, so we just have to hope that players do receive a decent contract proposal from the club which they think is a realistic wage for what they are doing and sign it. We might lose some players who refuse to sign, but if the club have made them the best offer they can then I wont complain (too much).

Contract talks
didnt he say that Cervi was a 2 year project in terms of development .... you could be right there then as that would take it up to about Mark Brown's renewal time !

Imrie has his cake and eats it too !
I am still disappointed that we didnt start a chant of "Hugh Watt, Hugh Watt, ..... you what .... you what ..... you what" at the end of the ceremony. That has got to be a fairly appropriate name for a football club chaplain !

Dougie Imrie got an extra reward for his man of the match performance at the weekend. Courtesy of Darren at ICTFC (and presumably taken by Peter Paul ?), here are the newlyweds presenting him with the top tier of their wedding cake.
