Is Marius our Larson
right now he is going nowhere. he is still under contract for another year, our DoF is on holiday, and the player is concentrating on playing for Romania. nothing will be decided about his future until he returns from Euro2008. Incidentally, the player himself is quite happy to continue playing for ICT .... if ICT actually want him.

New ICT song
fair play to you BornCaley ..... hope some bright sparks can show their songwriting skills to come up with something. Its a shame that the current song cant be used because of copyright issues but as you say, it is a bit cringeworthy and once the initial "retro-appreciation" of it died down we would probably want rid of it again. Toronto FC fans have been hunting around for an official "anthem" for a little while and one of the songs that was discussed was "My Town" by Glass Tiger .... In contrast to the copyright issues mentioned above, in this case, the band responded very positively to the guy who sent his manager an email ... presumably because they might gain some new found popularity because of it: [note: Toronto FC (the club) actually had a song written/recorded for them by the Barenaked Ladies - who are big "soccer" fans but it was instantly forgettable .... the glass tiger song is the fan choice.] Here's the guys email and the manager's response .....

Romanian Provisional Squad Officially Announced
Link to Source ? The only reuters story I can find from today says "Romania coach Victor Piturca on Tuesday dropped uncapped midfielder Ciprian Deac from his provisional Euro 2008 squad. Midfielder Ovidiu Petre and goalkeeper Danut Coman, both injured, have already pulled out of the squad and with Coman replaced by Eduard Stanciou, Piturca must drop another player by the squad announcement deadline on May 28." F.A.O. Brew,ICT,SPL..........Up your game!!
Great post ..... some praise, some scorn, and a fair bit of insight. There's not a lot I can add to that other than to say you tell the story very well from the point of view of someone who travels or has travelled thousands of miles to watch the club from the lowest reaches to the highest heights.

and we shall call this mascot the Inverness Half-time Entertainer ...... or I.H.E. for short :015: thought your other design was better ;)

Should Grant remain as captain
Should Grant be captain .... ? absolutely. as mentioned above, he had a rocky start but has seemed to grow into the role. He still has a bit of growing to be in the Bobby Mann or Darren Dods class but he is definitely capable. My only caveat would be if the club signed someone who oozes leadership qualities ..... not going to happen but as an example, lets say Steven Pressley

2008-09: Final SPL Table
not possible unless they finish top 6 or Rangers finish bottom 6 :004:

CTO Internet Supporters Player of the Year....
I would need to dig out a lot of old files, but I believe Ike finished a lot higher up the rankings than Mark Brown did in most seasons he was with us.... Goalkeepers (or Broonie at least) dont seem to attract as many votes as other players ..... I guess we expect them to save everything rather than give them loads of praise for saving shots that others might not !!!

Cowie staying?
on the other side of the coin though C100 ... from what I hear, or have heard Rankin was told he was surplus to requirements long before Park moved Wyness did have an offer on the table that was removed Niculae is happy to stay if the club want him We could argue all of this around in circles and come up with half a dozen different arguments each depending on which story or stories we each heard but I think each and every one of us would probably agree that Cowie is worth signing up on a longer term deal now if that is what he wants ... and it seems like it is. His first season in the SPL has resulted in him taking most if not all of the POY awards at the club, he has had positive comments from most of us, and he is attributed as making remarks that he wants to get a longer deal at ICT. We should be working vigorously to make sure that deal is in place before the start of season 08/09 .... it would be a very positive way to start the season and I think we all need that after the crap and bullshit of the season just past.

2008-09: Final SPL Table
and here is the vote from the Toronto jury ...... Rouyame-Uni - nil points ..... oops , sorry, wrong competition. SPL 08/09 This will be our hardest in the SPL. Hamilton are no mugs but might struggle a bit finding their feet and possibly with depth of squad over the course of the season. I think Hibs, Well and Dundee Utd all have good managers who will improve their teams year-on-year. Hearts and Aberdeen, even in rough spells should have enough resources and players to secure a mid-table finish and Falkirk will also achieve mid-table. That leaves just ICT, Buddies, Hamilton and Killie to fight it out in the bottom 4. I am choosing ICT to be the best of the bottom four because I am biased ! 01: Rangers - so close to everything this season. will win this next season ============ 02: Celtic - will crumble like Rangers did this season, especially if they do well in CL or UC. 03: Dundee Utd - some managers can do it at certain clubs where others cant. CL has improved DUFC and will continue to. 04: Motherwell - replace the name CL with MM and the same applies to Well as to DUFC. 05: Hibernian - replace the name CL or MM with MP and the same applies to Hibs as to Well and DUFC 06: Hearts - Vlad will not allow such a lowly finish next year. Could surprise people and finish a lot higher/lower depending on him. ============ 07: Aberdeen - a rebuilding job but still good enough to finish mid table. 08: Falkirk - What can I say, I think JH is a decent manager and Falkirk will trundle along to a respectable mid table finish. 09: ICT - 9th this season was a disappointment, next year it will be a relief if we dont fill the current holes in the squad 10: St Mirren - Denzil and Dargo will (hopefully) not click because of the ICT curse and that screws up Gus' plans ! 11: Hamilton - will be hard but will stay up. ============ 12: Kilmarnock - rumours of financial problems and administration, all is not well at Rugby Park

Cowie staying?
For once we see someone saying they want to extend their deal it ICT and it happens to be one of the best signings we have made in years ..... so what if it means he wants a pay rise ... perhaps he deserves it ..... time for the manager and/or DoF to get the pen and paper out and extend this deal ASAP.

So who are you supporting?
Romania for me and if Niculae makes the final squad we may just have a special logo for the duration.

Welcome to Euro 2008
We thought it might be a good idea to create a forum where we could discuss Euro 2008 ..... regardless of Marius' involvement. This forum is temporary from now and for the duration of the tournament, when the topics will be moved back into non-ict forums .....

Trust for Brew
Not sure what the total amount will be but 75k is the difference between places. i.e if 12th get 500k then 11th will get 575k and so on up to 7th. Think the differences are a bit more in top half. Every team gets 4% of the sponsorship revenue guaranteed (48%). The rest of the money is dependent on where you finish. 12th = 0.5% 11th = 1.0% 10th = 1.5% 9th = 2.0% 8th = 2.5% 7th = 3.0% 6th = 3.5% 5th = 4.0% 4th = 4.5% 3rd = 5.5% 2nd = 11.0% 1st = 13.0% For 2007/08, think the difference per place is about 80K

Trust for Brew
no argument there. He was banging them in in div2 but previously couldnt do it in Div1 or SPL .... maybe he has improved and/or matured but still very unproven ... not what I would call an inspired "top target". Not sure who is out there, who is available, or who is willing to come to ICT given our location (the usual excuse) and our recent reputation (right or wrong) for shoddy treatment of players but I would like to think there might be a few decent bodies available. If not, then why did/do we **** around with people who were proven at SPL level As Caley100 mentioned, there is the small matter of 75K per place. The manager has to put out what he considers to be the best team he can. I am all for trying out these youngsters but there has to be a balance between players who already have SPL experience and those who we hope will have lots of that experience in the (near) future. I have heard numerous stories about various things this season, but one that kept coming back to me from different sources was that Brewster had to deal with a sizeable amount of "resistance" from various parties when he first returned. He is not going to be popular when trying to break up cliques, or when he changes training routines so they are more "professional". I also dont blame him if he did (as rumoured) go nuts when one or two players were (allegedly) excused training to go to a Champions league match !!! As with most stories, there are always two sides .... and the moans and groans we heard were usually coming from only one of those ! not officially ... although our first manager Sergei Baltacha did leave at the end of our first season to make way for Steve Paterson. Some say he was sacked, others say it was "mutual consent" but if he didnt go then he probably would have been sacked I am no big Brewster fan ... having moved from the fervently anti-Brew camp to the Undecided camp .... but sometimes a lot of us (myself included) dont see the full picture until we step back and have a wider look .... got told a few things during my trip back to Inverness that made me do that !

presented to shareholders at the AGM. There was a topic elsewhere discussing this, and a few others where it was mentioned, but I am too busy to go searching for it right now.

Next Inverness Caley Manager
Wrong .... your "crime" has more to do with laughing at Donald Park than anything to do with Brewster .... nevermind though, the mods are ready to help you when she arrives .... :hiding03: Neil Warnock was never a candidate .... not seriously anyway. It was all spin, and although we bought it initially it was soon shown to be yet another piece of misinformation from upstairs. Whether you believe Warnock was a willing participant in this spin will very much depend on who you speak to. Like a few other posters on here, I am slowly coming around to the idea that many (but not all) of the problems we have seen this year are not CB's fault. He has to shoulder the blame for a few things - and I think we have discussed these to death - but a lot of what has been going on has been beyond his control and must sit fairly and squarely on the shoulders of those in the boardroom and to some extent, the dressing room. There seems to have been a lot of "politics" going on and more than one "pissing match" and this has percolated through the whole stadium like the flow from a trough with a broken pipe on a matchday (sorry best 'pee' analogy i could think of). There are egos at play here (in both boardroom and dressing room) and I just hope the new chairman (and the manager) is able to rise above it all and be allowed to do his job with minimal interference from anyone as the alternative is another season like this (or worse). If either of them has to bang heads together, then I hope they are not afraid to do so.

e - Tickets
We find loads to moan about but if this works as it should then WELL DONE ICT. Its only been six years since the project started but the main thing is that it appears to be nearing completion.

the missing 2000 fans
There was another thread discussing this and i made my comments in there ... but basically I think its a great incentive marred by one quirk of pricing which I queried and was told was correct. I do not have a problem with excluding the OF games from the offer. The adults get their tickets for that game and the kids get first refusal on the ticket for their seat so for a total of 3 premium games of the season the club are asking the kids to pay, the other 16 games are FREE. If you cannot cope with that problem, and happen to be eligible for a concession ST, then I suggest you take advantage of the "pricing quirk" which will allow you to buy a concession and child ticket for the Family enclosure (including OF tickets) for 180 as opposed to buying an adult and free child for 210 and having to pay for child tickets for the 3 OF games !!!
