  1. pretty much agree apart from Black having a go at Robson .... it was Duncan according to commentators. other than that we are just not in it, DUFC seem to be more up for it. has 0-0 written all over it ...... if we are lucky
  2. Discuss the game in here Get to the chatroom HERE See the subs / bookings / report HERE LINEUPS ICT [attach=1] DUNDEE UNITED [attach=2] IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME - DONT FORGET TO VOTE IN THE POLL
  3. just posted all the info I had. If you have any queries try [email protected]
  4. I guess we will see if he is in the lineup tomorrow .... If he has asked to be rested then it would not only be uncharacteristic but also disappointing. With the exception of a couple of games at the start of the season, Dods has behaved very professionally on the park and this doesnt ring true.
  5. I concur .... when first reading this thread i thought .... F*** !!!!!!! Graham is probably not regarded by other teams as one of the top 10 or even 20 strikers in the SPL, but he does do something we have always liked to see at ICT ... he gives 100% effort in every game and scores a few goals in the process. He had a lot of doubters last season, and still has a few but his recent performances have been excellent and we need him up front tomorrow. I would like to see McSwegan get a full 90 alongside him if we play the regular 442, but if not then maybe a similar lineup to last week might work with Bayne as lone striker feeding off an attacking midfield ...... oh and a focus for 90 minutes instead of 85

  8. Its Roy McBain who is suspended after picking up his 7th yellow of the campaign in a recent match. Graham Bayne is on 3 yellows as mentioned above.
  9. Only registered users can vote and admin have additional options that allow us to make sure the same IP address isnt used multiple times and see who voted for who .... we can use this to filter out any inconsistent votes - like someone voting for the same player 3 times etc etc etc. As for numbers, we have 23 voters for the cup game .... while thats not a huge number out of a 7k crowd, we cant force people to vote and it is still more interactive than most other methods employed to pick the recipients of many of the end of season awards.
  10. and has been sponsored by the website and then the Internutters for many years ....... nice one Grant .... 200 more (at least) after this weekend :003:
  11. I fall into all of the categories I mentioned above (including being one of the first few registered users on the official site) and havent been able to register for any newsletters, or even find where to adjust my profile or enable new options that werent available at launch (like newsletters) ..... cant help thinking the club are missing the boat a little on that front.
  12. not shareholders, centenary club members or registered website users ? ..... thats pretty short-sighted !!!
  13. Might well be. can someone post the link where you can subscribe to this newsletter ?? I have had a look round the official site and I am damned if i can find it .......
  14. Welcome aboard .... enjoy !!!
  15. At great risk of opening up this debate again ... I would just note that the fans of the club were asked by the board whether they wanted to change the team name to Inverness, Inverness City or something like this just a few years ago and the overwhelming feeling seemed to be that, although the club was still very young, much 'history' had already been written for Caley Thistle and the suggestion was rejected out of hand by the fans. I would also question exactly what Inverness has done for ICT to deserve the honour of the club changing its name to just Inverness ? Caley Thistle's exploits have done a lot for the profile of the town/city in the media, but I dont recall much being done for the club .... and before anyone says it, the 900k we received ended up costing us a lot more and earning the town/city bucketloads more than they spent by opening up hundreds of acres of industrial land courtesy of the stadium road. I read the following article and thought that it was SPOT ON
  16. Call them Caley, call them Thistle, call them Caley Thistle ... I dont really care, but if this subject reared its ugly head again because of the conversation on another thread then as far as the website is concerned we will continue to use ICT, Inverness CT, Caley Thistle or the full name when writing articles, polls or anything else .... to do otherwise just fills up our inbox with complaints ... petty or otherwise.
  17. how far we have come ........ At the risk of being accused of having a 'small team mentality' I find it somewhat unbelievable (although understandable) that we are all so down talking about losing 1-2 to the league champions 'elect', a team full of multi million pound 'stars' where one player costs and is paid more than our entire squad and a team which held the mighty European giants AC Milan to a 0-0 draw in their last game. It was very similar to the last time we played Celtic in the cup at the TCS, Celtic faced ICT sandwiched in between domestic games against Rangers and European games against Liverpool. ICT were the only one of these sides who managed to knock them off their game (and out of the cup). No matter how close we came we simply cannot win every time and sadly this is what happened yesterday. As a famous pundit once said "Its a funny old game ..." even when we are trying desperately to hold back the tears of disappointment. However - don't get me wrong, I share the pain and feel just as downhearted as those who were actually there yesterday. I got up at 6:30AM and after being really peeved that the website was down, I scouted around the rest of the web and Canadian cable TV to try and find any method of watching or listening to the game. This of course met with no success (but thats another subject) so I was forced to use the BBC and SKY live (text) update services and just about woke up the whole neighbourhood when Graham Bayne scored. Without the benefit of TV pictures or audio I was also bemused at the substitutions but thought 'OK, CC and DP have a game plan'. As i was making a coffee just minutes before the end (in my nice ICT mug) I mumbled to myself that when i refreshed the BBC page it would probably show a late goal for Celtic as we seem prone to losing late goals and they have a habit of scoring them. Sure enough, when i got back in front of the PC, the next screen refresh confirmed my worst fears ... and a subsequent refresh left my weekend in tatters. I did not function well for the rest of the day yesterday and still find it hard to believe we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. From what I have read, it seems that the players gave their all - the scoreline up until the last few minutes seems to confirm this - but in the end, Celtic's 90 minute football was better than our 85 minute version. Mistakes were obviously made, and these mistakes were not only expensive emotionally (for players and fans alike) but also financially and I hope that lessons have and will be learned. I salute the team for the first 85 but please, please, please work on defending a lead in the last 5 as the game is not over until the final whistle blows. For all his faults, Craig Brewster did have us playing for the full 90 and we need to get back to that.
  18. Scotty

    Ian Black

McDonald is a crap ref every day ... we have encountered him enough to know he isnt biased just s***
  19. ... and he hasnt scored in the last 3 games so he's due one !!!!! .... I BELIEVE ....
  20. Perhaps it read better in Lithuanian ??? or maybe it was Johndo who translated it ??? In fact, have Vlad and Johndo ever been seen in the same location at the same time ??? If this wasn't on an official website I would think someone was taking the ****
  21. This is for information only (hence the reason it is locked from replies). There is already a thread discussing ticket prices etc elsewhere on the main board.... It seems that this weekend's match is not yet a sellout. There are still a few tickets available in the Main stand (mostly in uncovered section) and also in the North stand. Prices: North and Main Stand uncovered Adult £22, Concession £17. Main stand £27 and £22.
  22. If Hart is free of injury, then at worst he should perhaps be on the bench as he is undoubtedly not match fit and this is not a game where you put players in the starting lineup to increase their match fitness !!! I will defer to those who have seen him play this season, but listening on the radio when he has made appearances from the bench he has certainly been in the thick of the action and commentators have said his contributions have been excellent. Much like Ian Black gave the side a lift on Saturday when he came on, Richie seemed to do the same in at least a couple of games earlier in the season. At the end of the day, CC will pick a side that he thinks will win the game, regardless of what we think or say. I think we are likely to see only 1 change with Black coming in at the expense of Duncan and the forward line remaining unchanged. However, I would prefer to see HC's 4-5-1 with Duncan remaining in the side, or if we must play 4-4-2 then swap Rory for McSwegan. I dont feel particularly happy slagging off Rory but a striker's job is to score goals and 2 in 18 appearances this season or 3 in 36 all time is not a happy stat.
  23. maybe not injured, but fighting his way back to fitness after injury is he not ?
  24. OK - Chibber is going to need the emergency gates opened so he can get in on Sunday - I agree with his selection too. We are somewhat limited in our selection options because of injuries but a 4-5-1 formation would allow Black to get back in at the expense of Rory and hopefully make the midfield solid and creative. It would mean that Bayne would have to do a lot of work, but he does that every week anyway. I think Black has paid the penalty for his petulance. He has come on as a sub in each of his last three appearances without picking up any bookings. He has even shown restraint when the opposition tried to get a reaction out of him in two of these games so perhaps the penny may be dropping. I think we would all agree that a creative Ian Black showing controlled aggression on the park is a tremendous asset. Its a shame that Hart is still injured, McSwegan isnt fully fit and Paatelainen is cup-tied or I might have made a slightly different suggestion .... and if both Dargs and Denzil were fit I think most of us would have them in for Sunday
