  1. We have finally managed to get a date that is acceptable to the club and players for the End of Season Party. It will be held on 22 July, the day we play Ross County in a friendly. Hopefully this will mean that most of the players will be able to attend. It has been really difficult this year to find a date that was suitable due to the league split and our last 2 Saturday games being away. The start of the season wasn't really an option either as the fixture list is not out till the end of June. Finding a venue big enough at such short notice is a problem and while last year we just struck it lucky this year has been more of a problem. Supporters Club members will be notified of the details and how to get tickets for the party within the next couple of weeks. If anyone has any questions they can pm me. maimie

  9. I have had a reply from the Club about Season Ticket prices so thought I'd post it here....... I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've now received confirmation of season ticket prices and can confirm that prices in the main stand are going up slightly in the main stand (by £10) but that prices in the North Stand and North Stand Family are remaining the same as last season. Those with existing season tickets will receive letters and application forms shortly in order that they may renew existing seats. Existing season ticket holders will be given until mid June to renew (date to be confirmed). If anyone chooses not to renew, their seats will be released and will be available for general sale and to anyone looking to change seats. For information, 2006/07 prices are: Main Stand: Adult £330, Student/Senior (0ver 60) £205, Schoolchild £130 North Stand: Adult £280, Student/Senior (over 60) £150, Schoolchild £80 North Stand Family (must be accompanied by a child) Adult £200, Student/Senior (over 60) £100, Schoolchild £60
  10. there are buses running from the town centre to the stadium though I'm not sure of the times but i will find out. The Social Club run buses too and there are also many pubs that run buses for a minimal charge. The season ticket issue is a big one in that for this season and last we are one of the last clubs in the SPL to announce our ticket prices. This, I think, is not good for the Club. Someone mentioned the threat of relegation but surely they could have a contingency in place for such an event and as soon as it is known that we are safe prices could be announced. I also feel a more realistic way of being able to pay your tickets up is needed. I am a great believer in the fact that the team are our biggest asset as far as the kids are concerned and that more must be done in this department. Getting in to schools is a major factor in attracting young supporters and should be one that is done now. I remember speaking to Grassa about this some time ago and at that time the team trained in the morning and golfed in the afternoon and he felt that to visit schools was to encroach on the players 'time off'. I would hope that that attitude has now changed! The other thing they could do is to adopt a street league team - think of the rivalry then! it may also give them good preparation for coaching in the future. While I agree that the match day prices for kids is far too high remember that a season ticket for centenary club members kids last year was only around the £40 mark - a real bargain in my view and better for the club in many ways than giving out free tickets to the same kids week in week out with no incentive to buy a season ticket and invest in the club and no problems about getting in to the 'big' games. Many clubs find themselves in the same situation as us in trying to increase crowds but we have the advantage in that we are the only SPL club in the area and need to capitalise on that. We could of course drive through the town tooting our horns and have our scarves flying out the windows....

  14. old but good :001: An, Englishman, Irishman, Scotsman, are all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of beer when, all of a sudden Saudi police rush in and arrest them. The possession of alcohol is a severe offence in Saudi Arabia, so for your terrible crime of not only possessing the alcohol but actually being caught consuming it too, you are all sentenced to death. However, after many months and with the help of very good lawyers, they are able to successfully appeal their sentences down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheikh decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheikh announced: "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping." The Irishman was first in line, he thought for a while and then said: "Please tie a pillow to my back."This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. When the punishment was done he had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain. The Englishman was next up. After watching the Irishman in horror he said smugly: "Please fix two pillows to my back." But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through again and the Englishmen was soon led away whimpering. The Scotsman was the last one up, but before he could say anything, the Sheikh turned to him and said: "You are from one of the most beautiful parts of the world and your culture is one of the finest in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!" "Thank you, your Most Royal and Merciful highness", The Scotsman replied. In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20 lashes but, 100 lashes." "Not only are you an honorable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave". The Sheikh said with an admiring look on his face. "If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And you're second wish?" "Tie the Englishman to my back."
  15. i sit in the family section in the north stand and though my old 'pitch' used to be on the half way line over there i don't know if i would be too happy about having to move from where i am! :007:
  16. IF anyone is making off the pitch threats against Ross they should be reported to the board host. if ANYONE sings that at Love St I personally think that that is appalling. At the end of the day a man was no longer able to play football at the same level again. There is far too much of this with the Aberdeen fans singing about Durrant and there are others. Shocking even to think about it rivalry or not. Rant over - tin hat on
