I think an expanded league will shake things up a bit with more teams having a go at the bigger teams and trying to win rather than not lose. SPL quality players having to play Division 1 football? I believe it will work.

It wouldn't be prudent to overspend which is what I think you are suggesting. Above all else the club must operate within its budget. The club really needs to develop sustainable revenue streams away from footballing matters so there is income all year round to support all the incentives you suggest. I think a 16 team league would freshen things up a lot and I'd wager there would be quite a few shock results from the newly promoted teams. A reduced league is anti-competitive so to speak.

16 tems and remove seeding from all cup competitions. All teams start at round 1 giving the smaller teams a boost in revenue and the bigger teams a run out with an occasional upset. Make the cups interesting with a Europa cup and Intertoto cup place up for grabs.

We have 64 points. 3 to play. County and Dundee are not out of it yet, mathematically which is what this thread is about.
