Thanks Brew
I didn't think Tokely said anything too bad about Robbo. Quite the opposite. He just wouldn't be drawn on who the board should pick. Given that Black has said about training in public, who do you think the source was? Could be black again but why?

When did Robbo fail at Hearts? 'Coz he left rather than be mad Vlad's plaything? Did Burley also fail at Hearts? Did Fergie fail because he was sacked at St Mirren? And what lifestyle is wrong? Coz he's a bit overweight? Always has been. Seen Paul Sturrock? Huge! Great manager though.

I doubt he ever realised that. Look at what he said about Dundee United. It was all about Levein getting success from his work in bringing in the players. One thing our Craig never doubted was self-belief.

I take it Craig was trying to bring Dargo back then.

I would bring fit players from Latvia as long as I get the half time pies!!! now it is coming together, IHE psychologist or Psychiatrist, only asked!!! Actually, most of us are a bit more interested in ICT staying up than your posts on here about Inverness not signing Latvians. If they're good enough, show them to the next manager.

Was Butcher a failure everywhere? Coventry - guided them safely from the relegation zone, whilst making a profit from the club - a surprise sacking. Sunderland - kept them in roughly the same position they were in but avoided the threat of relegation, so average. Motherwell - successful. Brentford - have you seen how many managers they go through? No time to establish his own team. Sydney FC - a director calling for his head after a fortnight? Again, what hope was there? He wouldn't be my favourite but I think his poor management skills are grossly over-exaggerated.

Thanks Brew
As the one who started the thread: I don't think he should have stayed in his job but saying thanks for trying isn't hypocrisy. I think he did his absolute best but it was just too much for him. I think he probably stayed because he really believed he was the man for the job. Probably still does. He was never the most talented player but pure effort produced someone who may be unfortunate in never getting a cap. It's in his make-up. I doubt he never stopped thinking of ways to improve the team the whole time he was here and, even though it was ultimately unsuccessful and even to the detriment of the team, I still say thanks for the effort. In the end, I was more responding to a number of people who bizarrely felt he was deliberately trying to ruin ICT or wasn't too bothered.

Roy Race hasn't had a club in a while. Did well at Melchester.

I've been one of the biggest shouts for Pressley as player-manager but not at this time. A month or two back with an experienced assistiant/DoF, then fine. Right now, we need someone familiar with the players, familiar with Scotland and experienced in management. For that, it's either Robbo or Charlie til summer - hopefully both! Then we can re-assess the situation. (BTW, I don't agree Robbo did fail when he left for a bigger club. I also don't think Butcher had a chance in Oz given that after a fortnight, one of the directors said he wanted him sacked.)

Thanks Brew
I don't believe for one second you didn't try your best. I'm sure you did your absolute for Inverness and probably still feel that given just a little more time... The fallings out, the getting shot of some long-term ICT players were, I feel, all done with the absolute best intentions. Building a team according to your own designs was the right choice if unsuccessful. Giving youth a chance was admirable if nothing else. Perhaps taking a step back you could maybe try at a lower level where your mistakes and some ridiculous personal accusations about your private life are not back page news. You did your best. Ultimately, it wasn't good enough but for sheer effort, I don't think you can be faulted. Maybe see you in the lower leagues or as assistant somewhere. Thanks for trying at least. Returning so soon wasn't the right choice but good luck wherever you end up. We'll remember the good times and I hope you do too.

Ah, Robbo. I thought you meant Steven Robb??!!

BREWSTER SACKED
I think it might be just a wee bit too late but it gives us a fighting chance at least. The Board kept that pretty close to their chests!

PR and Spin..
Wouldn't it be great to know for certain who Ralph Milne is? There's no way at all he's just a fan. I'm sure we all have our ideas but come on Ralph. Who are you really?

Brewster starting to realise?
I remember his interviews with DU just before he got sacked. Mostly talking about having to prepare for Division 1. Old Eddie was having none of that.
-
black?
When I've given in my notice in my job that I'm moving somewhere else, I still put in the work where I am. In fact, I'd be grossly insulted if someone told me they couldn't trust me to do something properly because of something happening in the future. And yep Dods was exactly the same case. He played for over a season knowing he was going.

Brewster's comments in The Herald
If Brew fell on his sword, he would struggle to get a job in football management ever again. I've no doubt why he's clinging on here. His entire career is at stake. I doubt the board are doing it for financial reasons either. I think they just don't want to admit a mistake. Not even to themselves.
-
Mark Brown
Probably not. He's earned a hatful and can just come back to a club of our level when his contract expires.

Enough is Enough.......Come Home Pele
Well, his other job is a social worker. I struggle to think of many more stressful jobs. Give me football management any day (no, really...please...I have unfinished business at ICT...unstarted business even...)

He looked a shadow of the player he was. No way would he displace Esson on that form. In saying that, thought the Dons played well - hmm might be stating the obvious there as they won 4-2. Diamond was outstanding in the back four. Mulgrew is approaching player of the season. McDonald and Severin excellent in midfield. Alonko always dangerous and Duff is some player. Seems to get dropped every now and then so maybe not consistent but most times I've seen him, I've been hugely impressed.

Currently conceding four goals against Aberdeen. Not looking at all like the player on a verge of an international call-up.

Do the Board want ICT to fail?
I don't think it's to do with money at all. The very fact that they've given Brew money for new players wages shows that they want to stay in the SPL. Unfortunately, they are a pack breed. The little clique just thinks 'what do they know? We had a couple of chances in that game. It's bound to go our way soon.' But it's not luck. It's tactics and player exchanges. Saying week after week 'we need to defend better' or 'we just couldn't score' isn't bad luck, it's the team's playing style.
