  1. Delighted to read this because we are a completely different team than when Niculae played with us and in truth he is probably right about the way we played back then but if we play to our capabilities and continue to play the passing football we ended with last year we have every chance. It would be good to get a couple of additional signings ... really need to replace Watkins pace up front.
  2. All booked. Glasgow to Stanstead £15 > Stanstead to Bucharest £171 return > Still trying to figure out how to get back to Glasgow Hotel £50 for 2 nights We've lucked out... couldn't hoped for a cheaper destination ... especially when you think what we could have ended up with! Just need to source the pubs then we're on to a winner!
  3. Ryanair from Stanstead to Bucharest < £200
  4. Flights booked for 22nd to 24th? 5 pictures down on google images
  5. Any word on when this is out?? Take it we are getting a new away top for this year??
  6. If a genuine question.. it doesn't deserve to be shot down like this. The merger and the people that didn't support it are all still part of our history and possibly gave us the steel we needed to become as successful as we are today There was a good interview with Sergei Baltacha on BBC Sportsound leading up to the final and although Tom English didn't ask half the questions I'd like to have, it was the first time I had heard anything from his perspective. I was only 12 at the time of the merger so the season ticket bought for me at Telford street was the first time I had a season ticket for any club. I was completely oblivious to all the hatred that surrounded the merger but you can definitely hear that Sergei is still affected by his experience at that time. I don't know if someone else has posted up the interview but if you haven't heard it's worth a listen
  7. Na not for me... still deserves a bit of respect but Shinnie is one of our own, went on to become captain and lead the team to win the Scottish Cup.. that's Roy of the rovers stuff. As for legendary strikers.. Rooney would be a fair bit behind Stewart & Wyness in my eyes.
  8. Nail on the head... I did a bit of scouting for Falkirk a while back and trying to convince parents to take their kids from Glasgow to Stirling Uni (30 mins away) for training twice a week was hard enough - everyone is completely blinded by Celtic and Rangers. I don't see it being any different for older players - they are too interested in staying close to friends and family in the big smoke... and there is a lot of wasted talent in Glasgow. I see it in the amateur leagues every weekend. There is a bigger pool of players in England and a lot more competition .... it's a smart move to separate themselves from the others
  9. There's a difference between Shinnie and others that have left us and ended up at Aberdeen or some other SPL/SPFL team... he's more like a Wilson or a Sheerin and should be respected as club legend. Rooney and Hayes were fan favourites but Shinnie dragged us to win our first major trophy and always conducted himself as a complete professional. He will still get booed during a game but applauded before and after
  10. Even Shinnie doesn't look happy in that photo..
  11. Go Ahead Eagles via Amsterdam or Malta (hot, cheap & good chance of qualification)
  12. Stick Tranzonspor, POAK or Atromitos (Decided this weekend) & FC Thun in that list
  13. I don't agree fully here Harry, that may be part of it but I think not getting a regular 90 minutes and the opportunity to experience a completely new challenge may appeal. Either way, we're both hoping he stays. I reckon a one year deal may be the best option for both parties here. But that's my point KB, if Ross is made to feel wanted and told that Yogi's intentions are for him to be a first team player (i.e. shown by a competitive contract) then I'm sure he would be convinced to stay. I just don't get the impression that Yogi thinks of him as a first team regular, which is a shame considering he is probably one of the most talented footballers Inverness has produced. Football's a short career and he might never get the chance to compete in Europe again... not a lot of professional footballers do. That's got to be an attractive option to him. From a professional point of view as well would this not considered a failure by not nailing down a first team place in his hometeam. Before moving on to greener pastures should he not first concentrate on making himself the first name on the team sheet, which I defintely think he is capable of. Definitely. I think he will be very lucky to find a team that suits him more and likewise he is the sort of player that we would need to try and attract to replace him. I think both parties would lose out if the contract is not agreed.
  14. Celtic are our competition. If they have players that aren't good enough to get a look in at their club then we shouldn't be considering them on loan. No problem with picking them up on permanent deals if out of contract but I hate the idea of loaning from teams in the same division.
  15. If Ross hasn't signed it is because the deal isn't good enough. I read his interview where he confirmed his intention to play in England but I don't believe he couldn't be tempted to kick about for another year if the club offered a good enough deal Not necessarily. It could just be Nick's intentions that he wants to give himself a new challenge elsewhere. I've no doubt he does... I think he's said as much already but if the offer was made good enough then I'm sure he would be tempted to sign given that he has not yet made himself a regular first team player and he has the opportunity to play in European competition, which he might never get the chance again in his career. It's an easy sell if you ask me but it depends on how hard the club and Yogi are working to keep him. He doesn't seem to be a priority for Yogi from what I've seen* * I don't know this for sure but only going on his lack of appearances v obvious talent
  16. Brewster was the one who was actually playing Vigurs, it was Butcher who put him on as a sub once and then never picked him again. I'm led to believe as well that we have offered him a deal, but he doesn't want to return here. So it was Wasn't too sure. Cheers
  17. If Ross hasn't signed it is because the deal isn't good enough. I read his interview where he confirmed his intention to play in England but I don't believe he couldn't be tempted to kick about for another year if the club offered a good enough deal
  18. I expected Watkins and Ofere, Kink would all be away but I will be absolutely gutted if we don't somehow manage to get a new deal for Ross. The guy is absolute class and one of our own ... it almost seems like the Munro situation all over again
  19. Cld do a lot worse than signing Jamie McDonald (he did win us the cup after all) ... seriously though, good keeper would be great competition for Brill and Esson. Left back... I've always been a fan of Bob Harris (ex QoS) but he is probably on a substantial contract with Sheffield Utd. I think everyone knows from the cup final that Tremarco isn't good enough to replace Shinnie... problem is there wont be many about that are. This is going be a really difficult position to fill Another Watkins by the sounds of it ... someone with a lot of pace that can play off the wing and up top. Strikers.. 2, maybe 3. If Watkins is away we need pace. If Ofere is away we need a natural goal scorer. I liked Shane Sutherland and Yogi hasn't had the chance to work with him yet... not sure if he is away on loan or permanent but he might be worth a shot... also a lot of hype about the boy Ferguson. Foran is collecting a substantial wage so he has some making up to do next season. We need to keep a hold of Ross ... he would be a bigger loss than Shinnie and Watkins IMO because he can fill so many positions and I believe next year will be a big year for him. If Yogi gives him a chance I think he will step up. Vigurs was just released from Motherwell... he was obviously binned by Brewster for having a poor attitude but there is no doubt how talented a left peg the boy had. I hate that he played for County but only because I was gutted that he left us ... it could be a good signing if Yogi gets the best out of him. There isn't a massive overhaul needed though ... just a few good additions and we are more than capable of another great season.
  20. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2015/competitionformat/ Knockout phase definitely states seeded teams play their home game in the second leg ... surely would make sense the same rule applied to qualification stage?? As mentioned already that Uefa manual is out of date. The format competition changed this season in terms of cup finalists position reverting to next best place in the league.
  21. 23rd of July for the away trip?? Someone much smarter than me must to be able to work this out for definite... I need to get my holidays booked in ASAP.
  22. Since we are unseeded does that mean that the away trip will be the second leg and therefore... the 23rd of July is nailed on as our away trip????
  23. Still buzzing!! Head hurts a bit though... glad I took today off
