  1. That was their new manager's old team and he took 3 of their players with him to Astra so to only draw at home is a poor result Astra have lost their best centre half (Youssef) and 3 centre mids with more than 90 caps between them. No notable signings made that will improve their team from last season. Still a very good team though - Budescu & William are definitely their main threat Massive overhaul of their team so they are in a similar position to us in that sense. I definitely give us a good chance over the 2 legs
  2. Saints out. Dons through **** just got real!!! Would have been a disaster being the only Scottish team left in the competition so happy to see Dons get through.
  3. Brian Rice has been in the dugout the last two friendlies, I fully expect him to replace Latapy. Good to know.
  4. Good luck to him - wld love to have a player with his ability in our team now. Possibly the most gifted player we've ever had at the club in any capacity Can't blame him for having the ambition to crack on with his own career as a manager and from reading that statement he enjoyed his time here and maybe one day he could see himself back here as a number 1. I'm not sure who Yogi has in mind as a number 2 but he could do a lot worse than looking at Barry Wilson IMO. He's been doing a lot of media work recently but would be great to see him back working for the club.
  5. Yeap, that will be the same Steve Hislop who had a very respectable strike rate including one of the most important goals in ICT's history Different levels. 1 goal in 4 in the first division wont cut it..
  6. After watching his youtube montage again, Hooper reminds me of Steve Hislop ... same body shape and awkwardness. Ball bounces off him. Still only 21 so has youth on his at least.
  7. Great to have another addition to the squad Keep 'em coming!!
  8. I don't know how anyone could defend the club over this. It's too easy to blame the suppliers. Embarrassing not to have this sorted by now.
  9. If you have a look at the Lyon v Astra game on Youtube they had less than 50 fans there. I can't see it being anymore for our game.
  10. I thought there were some well taken goals in the video to be honest. I guess Yogi will be the best judge when it comes down to it and the boy scored today, so there could be a player in Hooper. I don't think you can judge how good a striker is by a goal against Clach He'll never get as much time in the SPFL as he did in those clips and the ball was bouncing off him. There were some nice goals and he is only 21 with good physical attributes but I would be very concerned if he is leading our line start of the season. Only going on the video though .. I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him in the flesh.
  11. Not an exact address but the bus company is suggesting there's somewhere near the Harp Irish Pub where the buses can park up - presumably because it's the same bus company that did the Celtic transfers last year. As soon as it's confirmed we'll make sure everyone knows where and what time. Thanks
  12. Going by that youtube video Hooper looks absolutely rank rotten if I'm honest. Would be delighted to be proved wrong if we do sign him but seen nothing in that to say that he even deserves a trial with us.
  13. Do we have a confirmed pick up point yet? Cheers
  14. I wish the BBC article had stated this directly under his quote and it would just show exactly how much of **** this guy is.
  15. Bit gutted... been wanting rid of them for years but the last few tops have been excellent. Current home top is one of the best we've had Quite like the St Mirren top if Cabrini An Adidas top would be mint if we did change ... even for just 1 season.
  16. + 1 more for me please. So 7 in total (including me) Many thanks
  17. 2 x 49 seater coaches now booked for return transfer from Bucharest to Giurgiu. Waiting for confirmation of kick-off time before confirming cost but looks like it will only be about £10 per person. The above Event link currently takes care of about 50 of these 98 seats - add your details to the list if you want in. Coaches will leave from central Bucharest in plenty time for kick off and return to central Bucharest after the match. Superb. Cheers
  18. Where does everyone expect we're going to find a player within our budget, comfortable on the ball with either foot, can play anywhere across the midfield, SPFL experience in a top 6 side and only 23 years old? Anyone that is brushing this aside as "no great loss" is underplaying how good a player Ross is... he might not have secured a regular first team place but whenever he was called on he was excellent. If the board had invested in him with a major contract and shown commitment then there's every chance he could have taken the club on over the next few years. Now if ever is the time to invest ... not lose players to our rivals ffs!! We could deal with losing a player like Ross on his own but after losing Shinnie, Watkins, Mckay and Ofere the team will take some patching up. We'll obviously bounce back ...always do but with our first venture into European competition we should be at our strongest not limping into our first game.
  19. If the club needed a kick up the erse this was it. 4 weeks until our first ever European game and we have lost 5 players (3 regulars) and only signed 1 player from the division below
  20. That's not the point I made Alex. I said he should have worked this season to make himself a first team regular and with our whole front line away he could quite easily played any of 4 positions. Personally though... and this is not a dig at Yogi, I would have given him more time ahead of Williams & Christie. Not got anything against either player but Christie has plenty of time on his side so there is no reason to rush him. Obviously seems daft saying that when he won all the accolades this year but I imagine that's what put Ross' nose out of place, that a younger Christie was given all the plaudits and he had to sit on the sideline and watch.
  21. I can't imagine he's being paid significantly more so I suspect he is forgoing European football for the better chance of game time which, in my view, does show ambition on Nick's part. Personally, I think this is a bigger loss than Marley. Its any easy out to go somewhere and be promised football instead of working hard to earn a first team place.. that's what I meant by lack of ambition.
  22. After being on such a high with the Europa draw this has put me on a complete downer. He said it himself in his interview, he wanted to come in as a first team regular so obviously couldn't be promised this by Yogi for whatever reason. Massive signing for Dundee and could see him doing well there but it's just a sideway step. I can't believe that there was no way of convincing him to at least sign another year with the club to let him achieve first team football, get a taste of European football and then move on to a bigger opportunity. Seems like a real lack of ambition from both parties. Gutted.
  23. Alright mate, we have a group of 6 already booked for Bucharest and would definitely be interested in a bus going back and forth from the game if on the cards.
