McGuire is a decent player.. I'd certainly have him

I think this is a bad appointment but will give my full backing as always... just need to get used to watching some more awful football but perhaps some organisation is what we need right now
-
Too many target men, not to many strikers... Niculae and Brewster are both extremely similar players, best with their back to goal and are left footed.. Bayne and McCallister are runners but what we really need is a proper striker i.e. Dargo (hopefully Deano is up to it but looks more of a winger from with what I've seen so far) If I were Brew the first 2 signings I'd make would be a centre half and a nippy striker that can play along the offside line and poach in the six yard box
-
compared to what?? Hibs and Falkirk both play decent football at times but are always liable to a 6/7-0 thrashing.. Killie are awful to watch, United, Mirren, Aberdeen, Well, Super Gretna (or Dunfermline) don't exactly make the Brazillians drool. With Brewster we played a flat 4-4-2 and relied on being rigid and consistent... I remember screaming at him game after game for a sub but he had no plan B. He got us fit and organised that's about it I admired the way CC was attempting to make us play football with movement in midfield and Duncan sitting in front of the back line, I thought it was almost coming towards the end of last season but the loss of Dods and Dargo looks to be hard to take.
-
I'd be delighted if we could get Warnock (although unlikely) but would be also very happy to see Coyle at the club, he has lots to offer Scottish football and whenever I've seen St J I've been impressed with the football they play.. as for Brewster... meeeeehhh 2 steps forward 4 back

Of course it's not like the Happy Clappers on this site said anything like "Told you so" after results against Rangers for example? It goes both ways. there is a massive difference in celebrating a result and plotting the demise of our manager.. also CC never failed, his record stands highly against the majority of managers in the SPL and previous managers we've had. I have supported CC and given criticism when I felt it was deserved but celebrating because he has left is no comparison... if he was a flop then you may have had a point
-
Brewster had us playing some of the worst football EVER, fit and organised we may have been but we were terrible to watch... Tommy Burns for me IF we could possibly tempt him... not Malpas, Robbo or Brew
-
At times we played some excellent passing football, unfortunately not consistently. All the best CC

I am loving the self righteous attitude from some of our 'fans', after giving Christie stick from day one and then when he does leave the post... 'I told ya' :rolleyes02: ... and not even that, blaming the people that did get behind him for his current mental state (whatever that may be), what do you think caused him the stress in the first place? As for CC I'm disappointed, as much abuse that he received from a section from his home fans he always had support and I feel as though he has chosen the easy option. He will always be a legend but I feel as though he had a lot to offer as a manager and to fall at the first hurdle leaves us with no manager and a major problem, sitting at the bottom of the league with no points

YAWN Come on IHE we're only 3 games into the season have some faith eh... eh ... eh ... eh

I think our performance merited a win but once again there are no excuses for the way we defended. 2 horrible defensive lapses, for the first Tokely completely misjudged the cross and Fraser fell over instead of attempting to save the ball. 2nd, the cross should have been shut out by Hastings but what the **** was Caff doing? The team were well on top of St Mirren but after they scored against the run of play we took a while to get our composure back. They're second goal was an absolute gift but was glad to see us get straight back at them, cracking goal, Niculae again showed his class and Cowie bust a gut to get in the box. With the amount of pressure we put on them we deserved at least a point and when CC took off Hastings and replaced him with Wilson I turned to my mate and said it was either extremely stupid or a master stroke and although we didn't manage to get what we deserved from the game we dominated possession in the second half. DavieB I don't know if he is family or you are infact Stuart McCaffery but defending like that is inexcusable, he did alright for the majority of the game but he was playing against 2 5ft attackers and even at times still looked uncomfortable in the air, he just gave up in marking for the second goal. Fraser :003: :003: :003: Fell on his *** for the first and seemed a bit hesitant to come off his line but still looks comfortable in the air and kicking Tokely :003: :003: :003: As usual was getting a hard time from the crowd but dealt with it well until his feck up for the 1st goal but coming forward he played some excellent passes to the front pair Hastings :003: :003: 2 games now and I've not been impressed, dunno if he is still recovering from Copa America but just doesn't seem to be at the races Munro :003: :003: :003: Decent game and whatever was going on last week seems to be sorted, only criticism is his passing, he was far to eager to smash he ball upfront. Caff :003: :003: Much better than last week but then he lost concentration Duncan :003: :003: :003: :003: he is the jelly in the ICT sandwich Black :003: :003: :003: He just doesn't know where to put himself on the park, he just chases the ball about and leaves the centre of the park vacant. When he gets the ball at his feet he's impressive but needs to learn the other aspects of the game Rankin :003: :003: :003: Was quiet in the first half but came into the game as it went on and put in a shift as wingback Cowie :003: :003: :003: :003: comes inside a bit too much but was always positive and looking to go forward.. could be an excellent signing Niculae :003: :003: :003: Brings intelligence to the frontline but trys to be a bit too clever at times, great ball for the goal and held up the play well but needs to start scoring Bayne :003: :003: :003: Worked hard, had a couple of half chances but didn't really click with Niculae Subs Wilson :003: :003: :003: Excellent, should start next week Wyness :003: That's a sympathy smiley because he really did hee haw when he came on the park apart from lose the ball If we are going to survive this division we need to either start scoring or defend well and at the moment we're doing neither.

Got this from another forum ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (went to school (primary & secondry) with and played in same team as him for a year or so, my brother even captained the team he played in before he signed s-form with chelsea ) the amount of stories i could sell to the tabloids.. aye not bad. he's got height for defender, think he needs to put a little more beef on, but i aint seen him play for awhile so i'm unable to comment on that. when i played with him he was a striker, bit of a ball hog too. here's some facts. he's (or was?) an aberdeen fan. his mum wouldn't let him sign for aberdeen cos she knew he could do better. he turned down rangers to goto chelsea instead. he was in starting 11 for jose mourinho's first ever match at chelsea (pre season against bristol rovers or city i think) kinda rotted in the reserves at chelsea with mixed references, lacked consistency a little, while at times lead by example. jose mourinho didn't want him to leave chelsea but he sought first team football and left in search of it. career stalled due to injury of late. was a huge prospect for scotland when he first signed for chelsea (i remember the day cos he signed the s-forms in the secondry school i went too, can't remember who chelsea had up representing themselves that day for the photos and that but was a note of mentioning, sadly i cannot!) can't wait to see how he gets on like, should be interesting for me at least!

Would be a mistake by both parties if this is true, his performances coming from the bench merit a spell in the first team but CC doesn't fancy him for some reason.
-
can anyone make it along today at 2 to see this boy play?? I would go but can't ditch work

I don't think we have a player with a better first touch in the team but have to agree he does lack any pace, if I were CC I would consider dropping him further into midfield. I hope he finishes his career with ICT

na thought Bingham Legend would be going to watch Motherwell v Killie I'll be part of the Rossco appreciation society in Paisley!

Well I'd rather listen to people with the opinions that count! This lad is only 20.... yes 20!! He could easily have another 20 years of development and you are all ready to cut your losses now? He has got plenty of things to work on but obviously when he has worked with the National squad he has impressed and thus been re-called. If you can't see it then fair enough but the attitude of some people on this board is disgraceful, yes everyone has a right to an opinion but with that comes responsibility. I don't think there has been a player from another team that has received the abuse Rory has and yet he still steps on the pitch gives his all only to get the same cr@p the next day. If I was him I would have packed my bags by now but he is obviously determined to prove himself and you lot seem more worried about him proving you wrong than giving him the support that any player who wears an ICT strip deserves.

The grassy knoll.....was Clarkson tackled unfairly?
Harry Chibber replied to CELTIC1CALEY3's topic in Caley Thistle
Didn't think it was a penalty, Clarkson had the pace over Munro, Munro dived in missed the ball and as soon as Clarkson saw him go down he just fell over. Can't really blame the ref though (although at the time I did) as soon as Munro dived in the decision was easy for the ref! -
he not going to Fir Park? I'll be there + 2 or 3

well done that man!!
