  1. Going back to my original statement can I reiterate that I utilised the IF word in respect of financial backing. Of the three Sneck clubs ONLY Caley would have made it on their own and the fan base would have grown from the start. The pre-merger was a case of the others being "Forever I our Shadows". And as fer CaleyT's hypothesis I may be fecked up but my alter egos don't include Fruitbat or Buckett
  2. What about "Half Time at the Corriegarth"
  3. You have just started another one which if fairly typical of a stooped Jeggies ******* and another reason why Caley should have gone it alone. Discuss. IHE
  4. I note that poor old Dougal is getting the abuse so I take it that there is a general agreement with my deliberations ?
  5. In my head and in my heart ICT are the reincarnation of Caley and I relish joining in (or starting!!) some of the ditties of olde. There are times in the Notth Stand that I wander back to the Howden End and there are probably more times away from home that it feels just like the seventies again - only thing missing is those brilliant Football Train Specials which were jam packed with Caley supporters. As many know I couldn't give a toss about the anti-jags nonsense as it never feckin existed. It was pure feckin banter and thankfully still feckin is - if not better !! What gets on ma tits is ex-Caley boys following County. Stay away is understandable, crow at ICT failings is understandable but singing Anti-Caley songs from the Jail End is beyond feckin belief. Yes Caley WITH the same financial backing would have been a big club- much bigger than ICT - but ICT would now be a bigger club if many of the old Howden Enders had buried the hatchet and gradually moved on. So it is Caley in ma head and heart but ICT now til I die. I always agreed wiv much that Dougal said but this season has began to bring new young faces to the games, I walk through the streets of Sneck and I see more ICT shirts than Old Filth ones. The times they are a changing and ICT in current mode will grow and grow. - and in 5 or so years may emulate the Caleywho could have been.
  6. If jags had got in it would only have strengthened Caley and Telford Street would have attracted more than the Heathmount Beer Garden. The stand would have been burnt down sooner and the merger would have been a takeover. The standard of the HL did drop but the lure of Caley would have brought back the faithful and the fun seekers.
  7. He is having a feckin giraffe.
  8. "Comfort Zone" says it feckin all and it is also obvious that the Europe qualification DID swing things.
  9. I can never feckin win - I am asked to be serious and I get more abuse than ever. I hope that the younger post merger generation recognise that all the shallow and derisory posts are being provided by the forever envious Fools from the Hill contingency. Please note that I utilised the word if in capital letters - and if it happened the only bangs on my head that I would be suffering would be off the roof of a tumultuous Howden End.
  10. I actually do think that Caley would only have grown and gown IF they got the same financial backing afforded to ICT. Caley were a local institution and were always the biggest draw fer the fun loving Sneck football fraternity. Caley had a fair core following and had the historical and family influences. The vocal support would have been a magnet fer the yoof beginning to follow ICT now and that would have probably have ignited years ago. ICT have attracted a lot of curious support from around the world and a tradition like Caley may well have attracted many more. Can you imagine sticking a full Howden End under the bridge and multiply it by 4 or 5 !!
  11. The loping and lackadaisical giraffe will regret leaving the savannahs of the Highlands and the lure of grasslands and the lush shrubbery of giraffe heaven. But he has been tricked and I suspect that the mercenary poachers of Leith will have him well and truly stuffed in the near future.
  12. Caley at Telford Street today would have been hitting the 7-8K attendance mark.
  13. No Juanjo either - Bingham to me was a bit of a luxury but the best playmaker and match winner ever. No Russell Duncan either
  14. Would be perfect as a man sized incontinence pad.
  15. It is having those 17 names as the core of the new squad that heartens me.
  16. Why don't we arrange a meeting and a vote at Rosé street ?
  17. I can say from experience that trying to impress scouts by playing in a kilt can hamper yer overall performance.
  18. Terry can't be blamed if we have to wait until the 9th.
  19. Strangely enuff there is a fair number of Scots plying their trade in the "bowels" of Englandshire.
  20. It may not be so problematic this pre season as the majority of our squad know each other and we have again learned from the mistakes of previous seasons by getting players signed up early doors and we will have the best turn out ever at the start of the training sessions. If we had togetherness before then this can only get better. Playing the likes of Brora is just like a training match and allows us to have a look at newbies and to try and fit them in to the system - or hopefully systems. Those types of games are perfect at the start of the training schedule but we need two or three games against better opposition prior to the SPL as that puts us up the gears and hopefully in 4th gear and able to shift up. As I have alluded to before the concept of a trip away is not only a jolly fer the fans but also a bonding session - for both players, management and fans - anyone who went to Fleetwood will know what I mean.
  21. What about the olde Denis Wyness song changed to Aaron Doran ?
  22. Thank feck you sing yer feckin songs in Toronto.
  23. I love these types of stats - it would be even more interesting if we had a breakdown spiltting the season and how many of those shots on targets never ended up as goals. And before the Happy Clappers descend what I am getting at is that we were making chances, we were taking pots at goals but we weren't scoring. In many ways a positive.
  24. Great News - Hope his new deal is being sponsored by Ryvita.
