Bray was wide right the whole game Longstaff was more roaming and would have been more effectivewell wide left - Gilmour and MacLeod were well covering midfield. Billy started as a proper no 9 but he drifted back more and more as the game progressed.

What we are good at is picking up injuries pre-season and Fort George doesn't prepare Billy, Danny and others to a season fest of Astro ?! Afraid our youngsters may be average Highland League standard but are they good enuff for League 1 - and will the stalwarts and the injury prone survive for long. Did we defend deep ? Did we tippy tappy through? Was there anyone providing a glimmer of hope ? Is this a case of plodding on until the season ticket extension ends ? Gawd knows what faces is then if the Battery Farm goes on and on.

It's all from the modern coaching model. The large majority of the teams at the Euros are deploying it. The style is widely criticised at a number of League 1 and League 2 clubs. Gone are the days of Pele and winning by scoring more goals than the opposition. But Scottish League one is a step too far and there needs to be an acceptance that it didn't work last season. Of course you want a solid defence. But do we go with 3 solid central defenders and wingbacks poised to attack. Add in a holding midfielder if you want. But the main aim should be toy attack quickly, use width and always look at a final shot. Certainly shore up the defence - and we are well on the way to doing that but unleash the pace of the youngsters. So this season should not be about unleashing the dogs - it should be about about unleashing the enthusiasm and pace of youth.
