  1. Looks like we are one of a few cup games without inspections due for thursday or friday. Good news, think its only the roads that will be the problem. Does anyone know if the police would cancel the game for the state of a9 and the few well fans or just the streets surrounding the stadium.
  2. Its a classic clich?, but one game at a time and all that! It is important for the players to be motivated and have a winning mentality but this goes for every game. Personally i feel Dundee have a similar squad but have more experience at this level and more match winners in their side. They will probably strengthen further in the transfer window. I feel the club should look to have a strong 2nd half to the season finish in top 3 and build for next season in the 1st. In terms of the clubs budget, we are better to predict the worse and offer 1st division wages and sign them up early than wait without offering contract and lose players. There isn't a big difference between the leagues anyway as our current position shows.
  3. big game, revenge from the home game. count me in
  4. this will be may maiden somerset visit. up for a good bevvy train from central after a few legendary killie experiences.
  5. there could be lots of reasons ross isnt in the squad, probably the main ones being a lack of effort in training, or protecting him from baying fans who are constantly moaning whenever a player (human) makes a mistake. Only terry knows. re the subs, rooney and sanchez turned the game in midweek and deserved a chance again today. they could have turned it today. hindsight eh! lets get real, relegated teams never get promoted 1st season down from this division. we need to use this season to gain experience and rebuild a squad that can challenge next season or the season after.
  6. i think most supporters will now accept what was enivitable, that we are very unlikely to be promoted. we do not have the players (the main problem) or nouse to win the league this season. was has happened in the past needs to be forgotten and we need to consider the long term future of the club (i do not have enough info regarding behind the scenes stuff so this is purely talking on the pitch.) i think we use this season to consolidate in the division, sign up the players who can perform at this level (hayes, esson, foran) and in january add players after ridding the players who are simply not up to the task. the main question is - should we do this under butcher and malpas or someone else? i think we should give them at the very least until the end of the season, i dont think it is fair to judge them now and it would be detrimental to the club if we became like other clubs who chop and change their managers as they presume a right and demand to be in the league above. this time next season if we still do not look like challenging then i would accept a change would perhaps be on the cards.
  7. i reckon it will be esson proctor - bully - munro - golly foran - cox - stratford - hayes barrowman - sanchez
  8. That performance was very frustrating. The majority of the team looked like they had been out on the **** the night before and just couldnt be bothered. There was no urgency, no fight, players hiding rather than looking for the ball. As has been mentioned, the centre of midfield was were this was most evident. Stratford i believe has played like this most of the season but i actually thought the 2nd half was the most urgent iv seen him. Cox had a shocker yesterday, every time i looked at him he was just jogging about not looking for the ball, not tracking runners, not closing down. What a difference from his first few performances were he was everywhere, really need him to return to that form or else get someone else in. We were lucky to get a point only pass marks for esson and hayes
  9. woo im going to buy 'booze' and im ready for the weekend!
  10. havent rated hastings for a few years now, poor positionally never looked to play a short ball or support the forward players. squad players jumping up a division isnt a huge shock top six div 1 or bottom six spl? not alot in it. already happened today with curier. am sure the hamilton fans will be having kittens tho! i think golly has been signed more as a squad player, good experienced pro to have around the club. Would be suprised if he plays 5 games. Presume the young lad will be ahead of him in pecking order.
  11. iv been the pars, dundee and county games and in my opinion lionel has played well in the pars and dundee games and had a very poor game against county. proctor again in my opinion has been poor in all three games. i dont think he is good enough for this level, would i boo him, no. As long as i think he is giving 100% for the club i will support him. Same with any player who plays for us. Some fans need a bit of a reality check. We are not clear favourites for any game like some people appear to think. Look at the history of the 1st division; everybody beats everybody. Every game can by won or lost, if the majority of our players do not perform we will lose and will deserve to lose. This happened on saturday.
  12. Gok Wan text me just yesterday saying tartan bow ties and penguins are sooo in this season. The man knows his stuff!
  13. oh well looks like am on ma tod then! Kilarty - Settle with a cuppa and let me tell you a tale... i accuired said suit on a recent night out in the city of stirling. some punters on their stag do had been out in animal costumes and after leaving a cow suit was spotted in the corner by management. The management asked me to put the onesy on and as they say possesion is 9/10th of the law. Whilst walking home tweaking my udders i had a brainwave 'i shall wear this to the c*unty game!' And the rest is history!
  14. Return of the chance to hump county, cant wait! Just because its a special occasion i think i shall be in my cow suit! Anybody got plans for a bit of fancy dress of some sort. Train passengers will be rather perplexed as a cow man jumps on at Stirling at 9am!
  15. I remember David James going up front for the last ten mins for or at man city i think, well funny he just conceded a lot of fouls! Back to game, cracker, pretty nerve wracking towards the end, both teams looking for the win but butcher and the players seemed well pleased when leaving the pitch. Dundee looked pretty average apart from harkins he absolutly dominated proctor in the first half hour, griffths looked dangerous when coming on. Our strikers were causing their defence a lot of problems. Us - zadi played very well, proctor had a better second half with hayes doubling up on Harkins a lot more. Munro looked classy. Bully was solid. Cox was everywhere, real box to box midfielder, if he got injured we would really struggle. stratford was ok but game passed him by a bit. Eagle again ok but seems to lack confidence always rushing passes and crosses, never really taking players on. Hayes was good, very direct always running at their full back. Foran and Sanchez linked really well, noticed a big difference in Sanchez from the pars game, looks a handy player. Foran as naughty as ever with the uncontested drop goal attempt! First half we were better, Second half they were better. Could have gone either way so the right result. Lets get right into county!!!
  16. simples..wheres everybody going for the pre game beverage?
  17. Im not taking sides or condoning recent actions but i find it interesting that people will have a go at rooney for his performance and slate him, while all he was doing was giving his best for employer, the club, whilst defending our reserve keeper. As a young lad i looked up to football players and thought of them as gods even at highland league level. Now older and questionably wiser i think players should have to earn respect and our support and prove themselves in manner off and on the field which usually is most identifiable by commitment on the pitch. in current climate players move around a lot which i dont mind, as long as they i think they have fully committed themselves whilst under contract at ICT then i will support them as players for my club.
  18. re the allison chants, i thought that it was a wind up at first but then heard the reasons behind it. Dont want to comment because i wasnt there but if wat is being alleged is true then allison deserves some stick, i presume that will be a one off, the fans have vented their anger and made their point but wouldnt see a need to continue it all season. i believe players that show commitment and desire to play for the club deserve our support but i dont believe a contract with the club gives you our unwavering support. btw i didnt join in with the chants back to the game - its good to be back. started really well but felt some players faded out the game and it longer it went on the pars were looking more likely to win it. was very impressed with cox, both new wingers look decent, stratford started well but dissapeared, bulvitis will maybe need a few games to adjust but there was on show to see he will be a decent defender. i suspect we will need to fight for every point this season, no easy games in this league
  19. I'm not wanting to be too critical and know that their is obviously issues regarding expense more so this year than any before but i am concerned with the standard of opposition we are playing in pre season. I know its mainly about match fitness/ sharpness but it must be hard for the management to make a judgement on performance of trialists when playing players from a fair lower standard. I haven't been to any games but presume Kelly and defenders on trial will not really be tested enough for them to make an impact or for the management to see them put through their paces. One game v Utd is not enough. Dean Mcdonald is a prime example of scoring for fun in pre season friendlies then struggling to get a game in competitive action. Thoughts?
  20. To be honest, i can predict nothing else than a dundee promotion. They are picking off the best players from the division with double effect of improving their own squad and disabling the opposition. In my opinion 125k for griffiths is a steal, i predict Dundee will make a big profit on him as i see him representing Scotland in 4-5 years barring any injury or horrible attitude problem. I dont see a problem with a years consolidation for us concentrating on rebuilding the squad and hopefully make a charge next season. But who knows, we shall wait and see, into the unknown-its exciting!
  21. i cant express my utter thanks and adoration for that classic piece of songwriting/music. That cheered me up no end since my constant depressed state iv been in since saturday! Wat a tune, candle in the wind! priceless, im almost speechless
  22. il be there, sober, but there. Driving fae livi after work
  23. I went along to the game, wild wind and rain alot of the ball players struggled to adapt to the conditions especially the cut up and soaking pitch. I thought Black would struggle with conditions as well but i thought he had a very good half. Good cross for the 1st goal, breaking up attacks, good distribution. Lost possession once or twice but so were majority of players due to pitch. Nobody really stood out for Scotland future apart from Leigh Griffiths, had heard good reports previously and wasnt disappointed. Only on the pitch 15 mins but had good movement, rapid acceleration, linked up well with team mates. Raw talent at only 18, hopefully can continue to develop at a decent club and am positive he will be a big player for Scotland. Obviously meant a lot for him to score which was also nice to see. Unfortunately cant see Black staying, late starting contract talks and at that time Black appeared to be very unhappy with the management. Pity that we committed on a risky signing like Barrowman on a 3 year deal but couldn't commit to a player who was continuing to progress, develop and show desire for the club. Ah well, good luck to him in the future here's to the youth of tomorrow filling his boots as the saying goes!
