SPL reconstruction
Wish they would stop "tinkering" and just get it sorted properly. Talking about anything less than a top tier of 16 teams is, IMO, a waste of time. If they can afford to pay larger parachute payments, they can afford to support a larger league.

Totally agree, not often you see someone lob the keeper from 90 yards out.

Crowds.
First off, I've not been involved in the work that's been happening with the Trust, CAFE and the Club, but I was at the Scottish Supporters Direct conference when CAFE gave a presentation and my comments are based on that alone. One of the main things I took away from that presentation and conversation afterwards was that attendance cost was nowhere near the top of the list of priorities...quite the opposite. In fact, Disable Supporters Associations at many clubs promote the idea of them contributing in the same way as everyone else and dislike the presumption that "physically/mentally disabled = financially disabled". What is important to them is that clubs have facilities which allow them, as much as possible, to enjoy the matchday experience the same as the rest of us. What's more, given the opportunity, they are more than happy to assist in the process of making that happen...from identifying the areas that need improved, to finding the funds to make it happen. What will be achieved in the long run is anyone's guess, but I do know that we can all sit around and presume to know what the club should or should not be doing to make things more accessible for particular groups and you could could ask 100 fans and get 100 different answers....and still not get it right. I think it's great that we're now moving towards a way for one of those groups to give focused and meaningful input, and it's even better that the club are embracing the process.

ICT -V- Rangers : Matchday Thread
OK, let's get the only negative of the game out of the way first....Odhiambo is lazy, pure and simple. He chased nothing, shirked 50/50's and never stuck a decent challenge on anyone the whole game....that's not lacking fitness or match sharpness...it's just not trying. When you put a player like that in amongst a team giving their all then they stick out like a sore thumb. On to the match and I can't add much to what's already been said, other than the fact that Rangers travel home home happy tonight having managed to take a point from the Mighty Caley Jags!!! Took us a while to get Hayes into the game, but that was in part down to the fact that every time he got the ball he had 2 or 3 men on him and he just had no space to get going. I don't have too much of an issue with that because when you have one guy who is such a threat that it takes an extra man out of the opposition to look after him, then it opens up spaces and opportunities elsewhere and although we didn't capitalise on it fully, we were trying to exploit the situation by getting Rooney in behind their defence and attempting to feed him the ball in space. Seeing what Hayes could do when he did get a chance to run at Rangers, it's not surprising they were marking him out of the game. As soon as he crossed the half way line I had a good feeling about it and I was praying he took his chance instead of running himself into trouble...and he did. Rangers managed to do nothing down the middle against us in the first half and that was, in large, down to Cox and Duncan. However, frustration soon set it that Odhiambo was doing nothing in front of them and in the second half one or other was trying to fill Odhiambo's role which left us exposed in the middle. As soon as we subbed Odhiambo, normal service was resumed and we forced Rangers to play everything out wide....which suits us as high balls in were being mopped up easily by Tokely and Munro. Thought Shinnie had a great game as well. He had Whittaker to deal with most of the game and he constantly out jumped him and had no problem standing up to the bigger player...he was not intimidated in the slightest and played with the composure and maturity of a player who's been playing top level football for years. I was a little disappointed to have gone in at the break only one goal up but, given how the second half panned out, was happy enough to have finished the game on level pegging. I think 1-1 was probably a fair and honest result. Referee didn't have a great game and was giving soft/bad decisions all over the park...both ways. The penalty decision was a bad one. I initially thought it was a dive and/or very little contact, but having seen the replay a few times it looks like Beattie just lost his footing and slid...then made the most of it. No contact was made until we tripped over him already sprawled on the ground. Miller wasn't a happy bunny, and his telling fans to "f**k off" when they were asking for autographs after the game showed him up for the moron he really is.

Online Club Shop
'No' is the short answer. It was a question that came up during the development of the online shop but the time, cost etc for implementing it in a manner which didn't leave it open to abuse would have delayed things too much. It was also felt that if people were a season ticket holder then they had regular access to the shop on a match day and would be able to make purchases and receive any due discount in person. All in all, it just didn't make sense to spend more money and time to add something that is likely to be little used.

SNOW PATROL
Hmmmm.... They (the polis) have just called off Celtic/Killie and Dundee Utd/Motherwell... Think you will find they were postponed "on police advice" and not by the police themselves. Neil Doncaster has criticised them for making such an early decision.

SNOW PATROL
The club, as at close of play yesterday, had been given no indication by anyone that consideration was being given to a postponement. Stadium is pretty much ready for the game with stands, walkways, paths and surrounding pavements already cleared and being kept gritted. It's likely the pitch will be cleared before Saturday morning due to the fact we have an early kick-off. Club are providing us with updates as and when they are available and we'll pass them on as soon as we can.

SNOW PATROL
Situation is not clear at the moment and very much depends on what the weather is set to do and when. If it looks like we might get a a bit of thaw and temperatures aren't looking too bad then the decision may be made to remove the snow earlier to prevent a waterlogged pitch. If things remain cold then it will likely be cleared Saturday morning. It's a case of wait and see, and as soon as it changes I'll pass on the information.

SNOW PATROL
Funny you should mention that, I heard they were going to implement this idea but with one addition...2500 holes which are secured with velcro. That way they can just pull the duvet up over the main stand and use it to keep everyone warm during the match.
