  1. It all started going downhill when we were persuaded to "sell" our stadium on the cheap. At the time we were told the debt was hindering investment from other people and this would clear the way and allow money to come in....where's all the investment that was promised? From then it's been a catalogue of poor, bad, late decisions and in some cases no decisions (or planning) at all. We have a boardroom that are totally anonymous, and other than George Fraser and Grassa Bennet most of them could sit next to most fans at a game and they'd never know who they were. They have lost touch with the day to day running of the club, the fans and seem to be taking orders from a man who only appears to have been bleeding the club dry in the last 7 years or so. It's all fair and well saying we've not signed the right players, or we've let players go we should have kept etc, but it doesn't matter who the manager is if he's not being given sufficient funds/backing to make things happen. The same goes for those running the club on a day to day basis, it doesn't matter how willing they are to do things, they take their orders from up stairs and if they don't have any support or backing from there then they are just peeing into the wind.
  2. Download Copy of Poster st_a_quiz_poster_small.pdf
  3. That's not the case, and for those who like to be a little more vocal the club have even set up a "Noisy" section, so when booking/buying your tickets ask about it.
  4. Sitting? :D
  5. Top of the class caleyd , I made the schoolboy error of taking an Alex MacLeod post as fact . Even if Alex MacLeod's post had been fact (and it may have been at the time), how does what C*unty have on their site reflect on how ICT have been selling tickets?
  6. That's a no then!!!
  7. Why? The club can only sell what they've got/been given. If they don't have any stand tickets left then they can't sell them to people.
  8. I was thinking of dressing as a Redneck so I would blend in with the locals :boldblue:
  9. Shameless Plug Alert..... For those planning fancy dress www.focusfancydress.co.uk - Based in same building as Focus Vehicle Rental on Harbour Road.
  10. http://www.morphsuits.com/ That would be my suggestion. How fecking quality do they look :029: You buy it, I'll wear it :D
  11. Here's how it works....everyone who was at the game gets to choose the people they want to vote for based on their own reasons. Some might base it on work rate, some might base it on goals scored and others might base it on technical ability or entertainment value. None of these reasons is any more or less valid than the other and even if it was then it wouldn't be your place to dictate the rules.
  12. If I can get a hold of some new valves for my Trumpet before the weekend I'll take it along to Caravanville.
  13. was asked by donly/robbie this season if i could do anything to help them,so duly obliged as its helping the local community, and also very easy to take my disabled son to the games as we can get his wheelchair in the stand, which was impossible to do at ict.i started of just doing the website for them, now i also sell there lottery tickets every week(usually about 60-80 a week)sell merchandise at home games, and via website, iam also on youth development committe and am treasurer;the same question could be asked to a good few ict fans who previously supported the old firm or any other spl team. even though they usually get beaten most weeks i feel part of something big happening and am made most welcome by everyone invovled with the club, more that can be said a about ict. Wasn't looking to have a go, just seeing if my point/s earlier about people seeking what's missing from supporting their current club was the case here....and it looks like it is/was. All the things you mention were part of being a fan (for those willing to roll up the sleeves) at ICT in the past, but have been slowly eroded over the years as a result of various things. If you're referring to the allegations that Sutherland threatened to pull the plug on Dowling supplying windows to Tulloch if they accepted the Savage offer and offered to fund Clachs rescue himself instead, only to discover that the regulations prevented it and Savage was no longer interested after being shafted....then that rumour already appeared on this site a couple of weeks back.
  14. Marty, why has it taken you so long to decide to support Strathspey Thistle?

Slightly off-topic, but related to tactics at set pieces. No idea which team it was, but watching the highlights of the football out the corner of my eye while playing pool last night I saw a cracking one. Was a free kick and one player was standing with the ball in his hands....as he bent over to place the ball another player started his run up and just as the ball was placed he booted it, taking the opposition totally by surprise, and scored. I love seeing new/cheeky plays like that....especially when they work out.
  16. Not sure I totally agree with the highlighted part. We seemed to lose a bit of shape and discipline when Morton scored, it was as if panic was about to set in for about 7-10 minutes after (I commented on it via Twitter at the time). However, we did prevent it taking grip and settled back in to the game and stopped Morton dictating the run of play for too long. That, for me, was evidence that we might just have a team out there that's turned a corner, because it's moments like that which have been our downfall a few times this season and they'll now have the belief and confidence to ride through moments like that in future.
  17. I knew you liked a drink Alex, but never had you down as a freeloader

Makes sense to me.....send your 2 shortest guys out to take the corner and they take 2 opposition players with them...generally defenders who are taller. To get that to work and to have teams send players to cover for the short corner, you have to play the short pass a few times, otherwise they know your not going to do it and don't make provision to cover it.
  19. The home support was actually up on normal for todays game....cancelling out the poor numbers from Morton. I was also very surprised that we broke the 3000 mark given that the Shinty Hurling was on at the Bught, an event that is, and has been wells supported in the area for years. In terms of the the level of vocal support from those who were there....this is something I monitor with great interest week to week and I would say that today was about the best the fans have been in about a year. It's certainly not the best in the world, but it is improving and I have found that by just doing your thing and supporting the team then it does more to encourage others than coming on here moaning and bitching about them does. Not having a go at you for expressing your view, you're entitled to do so, just offering up an alternative way of dealing with it.
  20. He's left the club so everyone involed with the club will be happy about this i sure am I had a couple of people "involved with the club" take exception to this comment today, and I think it's only right that we don't make assumption as to how other people might view the departure of Mike Smith. Not everyone shares the view that his departure is a positive for ICT. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moving on............................. Given the number of false promises we've had in the past then some will be, understandably, sceptical about how things might change going forward. One thing I always try and do personally is not pre-judge a person based on the previous actions of others. It's also no secret that I have certain reservations about the way the club is run from the top. Darren is a different person and he has his own ideas about how some things might be done differently. I speak with him regularly through my involvement with the matchday announcing etc. and having spoken with him briefly today he is keen to start building a relationship with people and groups he wasn't previously involved with on a direct basis. To date his role has been focused more around the corporate side of the business, so he doesn't, yet, have a regular working relationship with the other side of things. He has some ideas on things that might work that haven't been looked at too closely (by the club) in the past and is eager to implement those ideas. I don't expect things to change overnight, I don't think Darren expects things to change overnight and the fans have to realise that things won't change overnight. What is important is that there's a chance here for new relationships between this part of the club and the fans and we should all do what we can to make the best of that. As I've said in the past, we also have to do our bit as fans. There's things that Darren can do, there's things that he can't do and there's things that can only be done with the support and help of the fans. How things will pan out over the coming days, weeks & months I don't know. I'll be sitting down with Darren over the next couple of weeks to go over the "matchday experience" in terms of what I can influence as the Stadium Announcer. I will be sitting down to speak to him about getting online highlights of our matches and seeing what we (CTO) can do to assist in that, as well as anything we can do to assist with the transition as far as communication with the website is concerned. As Mike was the Supporters Trust point of contact then I'm sure they will be keen to get talking to Darren about ongoing and future items. Also, can I point out to users that whilst expressing an opinion on anything is fine, we will not tolerate that spilling over in to abuse. Let's try keep comments civilised and constructive.....thanks.
  21. Assuming this is nothing more than a cost cutting measure, and baring in mind that the law prevents you from paying someone off and then hiring a replacement, then I can only think that his duties will be taken over by staff already at the stadium.
  22. What is it that ICT are hoping to hear? FIFA aren't exactly going to say they flipped a coin and ICT lost....and even if they did, what are the club going to do? Claim it should be best of three?
  23. The point I was making is that as InvernessTV.net is not an official ICT site then, as I understand it, they cannot show the highlights without first agreeing terms/paying for the privilege. This understanding comes from having spoken to those who run the highlight service for other clubs. Those who already provide the service do so through the clubs official site, or a separate club owned/controlled media site, and it is done under the clubs rights. The club do not have the authority to transfer those rights to a third party. I have a copy of the SFA/SFL Agreement for this somewhere and I'll dig it out and post it. It's not impossible to provide the service, that's not what I'm saying, and I actually think it's a relatively straight forward thing to get put in place. What I am saying, is that without the clubs co-operation then it then becomes a far more complicated and costly process.....at which point it would not be viable.
  24. Under a clubs right to put highlights online (without paying a fee), they are only allowed to do so on their own official website. If anyone else wishes to do it then they have to become a "media partner" and pay a license fee. I don't know what that fee is, but knowing what they (the SFA) charge for the rights to a single game, I can't imagine it being financially viable for a small outfit. I've been working most of the day so not had a chance to see what Jim is saying in the paper, but I would hope/expect that we'll see some kind of programming involving ICT.....maybe we could do what I've seen done for the NFL where a channel doesn't have the rights to show live footage of a game.....they set up a camera on the commentators who are watching and reporting on the game. It can be quite entertaining if you can get commentators who lean towards opposing teams, especially if they are animated people.
