  1. I could be persuaded :001:
  2. How many foreigners play in Britain without having played internationals? There must be loads in England! Being a Liverpool fan, Luis Garcia jumps to mind. He made his Spain debut AFTER he moved to Liverpool, and we had other players like Antonio Nunez and Josemi who still haven't played for Spain. And youngsters like all the ones at Arsenal, Cesc Fabregas hadn't played for Spain before he signed for Arsenal. I must be missing something?? You are - Spain are EU members who don't have any restrictions placed on them in the way that Romania and Bulgaria do.
  3. We can argue rules and facts round in circles, at the end of the day it is up to the Home Office and is, from what I can gather, a judgment call as opposed to any firm and hardfast rules (for footballers) - IMO, the precedent was set for the signing of Romanian and Bulgarian players when Hearts were granted a work permit for that young Bulgarian lad at the start of the year (Branimir Kostadinov). He hadn't so much as kicked a ball professionally and he was granted a permit. With that in mind I fail to see how they could deny a permit to a player with a proven and succesful professional career to date (for the 2 years prior to that he was registered as an Amatuer player). I am certain their are other examples and I am sure, if the need arises, the club will have researched all these and have a strong case. As far as we are aware his work permit has not been denied at this stage so it could all be a storm in a teacup. I'm sure the club will have been more than aware of any potential stumbling blocks (especially given Alan Savages strong business links with Romania) and are in a strong position to argue the case should the need arise.
  4. I believe the 75% rule may apply to players coming in from outside the EU only. If not, then his time out injured will reduce the number of games where he was available for selection in the last couple of years and he may still manage the 75% requirement.
  5. Yet here you are posting and partaking all the same!!!! Charles, I checked the link when it was posted and although borderline, it isn't as bad as all that and would likely make one of those TV shows with collections of humurous adverts that get shown before the watershed.

    Vote Of Thanks

I thought you more than most on here would understand the impact of age :001:. At 13 yrs old this website is an old man in terms of the WWW and those of you who met Scotty last time he was over would have seen the thinning and greying hair to prove it :015: We've all (well most of us) read the books about the rise and rise of ICT and perhaps one day Scotty could be talked into writing his book about the rise and rise of CaleyThistleOnline.com. There's penty to tell, even from the time i've been involved, and the story is far bigger and probably far more interesting than many people realise. Thanks for the thanks, as Scotty said it is appreciated. Despite having fallen out with just about every member of the site at some point in time I've still met more than my share of great people - and that's what makes it all worthwhile.....I think!!! :004:
  9. The team for this match could consist of just about anybody IMO. We will have players who have been pushed hard in the pre-season who will need to take it a little easier before the Rangers game and we will see fringe players who need more match preperation getting a run out. Part of me wants to see a full strength team to give a guage of what the season will bring, but another part of me wants to see us throw our youngesters out there and have them take C*unty apart purely for bragging rights.
  10. Start as we mean to go on - 3 at the back with Duncan sitting behind a middle 3 of Wilson, Black & Rankin and Hart sitting in front of that running at the defenders with Wyness and "take your pick" as a front pair to take advantage of a hard pressed back line.
  11. Can't believe we've got a non OF fan trying to put forward a defense for Barry "Side Pass" Ferguson
  12. I have deleted the event you added - the calender is not intended for putting Match details on (we have a fixture page for that). For future reference, clicking on the little red asterisk next to an event you have created will allow you to edit it.
  13. Thats why you have been told to change it in your profile.
  14. SMF is the software that runs the forum. Not sure which pictures you are refering too, could you be more specific. Thanks.
  15. The right hand colum is only intended as an "information" panel covering other stuff on CTO. It's impossible to add everything to it, but we will look at the possibility of adding list of useful links.
  16. As per opening post on this thread
  17. Trying not to be too premature, but can people try now to see if things are operating as they should be in terms of the login issue.
  18. Looks like an IE compatability issue - investigating cause and looking for a solution as we speak.
  19. Hart IS NOT a winger - I don't see why people constantly want to see him play there and that includes CC. He always has his best games when making runs from the centre of the pitch.
  20. ok, you can have the cheques and I'll have the cash :015:
  21. Despite months of development and a few weeks of testing it's near certain something will have slipped through the net, so please use this thread to report any issues/bugs/errors you happen upon. Please feel free to heap praise on us for our hard work - cheques can be made payable to me, or you can just give me cash next time we meet :015: :tic01: Feel free to ask questions if there's a new button or feature you don't understand and once we've had an opportunity to catch our breath we'll post up some information about getting signed up for the predicition leagues etc etc. We don't mind criticism, so long as you keep it constructive - posts such as "that's chit" and "I don't like it" will be ignored unless you say why. Current Issues / Resolutions 1. Problems with Login Boxes - [works in Firefox and IE7 but not IE6]. status: resolved. 2. Site Preview on Hover no longer working - Feature Removed. status: resolved. 3. Avatars missing - result of moving sites over - resolve by resetting within your profile. status: resolved 4. Password reminders have bad links and produce an error when clicked. status: resolved. 5. Ignore function not working properly. code changes applied. status: appears resolved - monitoring.
  22. Source of that information?
  23. Lets get the first half of the season out of the way, see how players are performing, who's getting their chances and who's not - then decisions can be made as to who (if anyone) would benefit from going out on loan. All except McAllister that is, he has had a few chances to prove himself and I think he would benefit from an immediate loan spell to a first or second division team.
  24. Thank feck the new season is on the horizon, that's all I can say!!!
  25. Think you missed a space in that sentence HC :015:
