  1. So is it only FSV Frankfurt? Not Eintracht?! With due respect to Billy, the former would be more realistic. That said, I'd be disappointed if he went there. Eintracht's a no-brainer but he can surely do better than FSV Frankfurt in Bundesliga 2?
  2. I was just reading a preview about the game tonight and the article mentioned the players unavailable to Dundee - one being Philip Roberts!! I'd completely forgotten he'd signed for them. But I can't see him being involved too much this season - I'm not yet convinced he's even top-league material. On a side-note, why has Esson retained the no.1 'keepers shirt??!!! Surely, Brill is now well established as our first-choice goalie....? I'm doubt Dean is bothered, but 'traditionalists' like me expect the first choice 'keeper to have the no.1 jersey!
  3. But it IS Eintracht who are in for him. Games against Champions League winners Bayern Munich! - we can't stand in his way! Any offer over £400,000 we'll take - any less would be a steal! But if they want him enough we could hold out for more. Let's be honest, Billy won't be here this time next year - we will reluctantly have to cash in. It'll certainly result in a paradigm shift of our aspirations for this season, as I had us down for 6th in Kingsmill's 'poll'. We'll absolutely need to get a striker in if this is true.
  4. I wouldn't get too upset at that article. They're not exactly saying 'we at The Scotsman' think that Hughes' job is under pressure - they're simply stating the fact that he's 3rd favourite for the sack, according to the Bookies latest odds. For the record, at this moment, the odds for the next manager to go are: (from safest to shoogliest peg)... Tommy Wright Stuart McCall, Alex Neil and Derek Adams Derek McInnes and Paul Hartley Jackie McNamara Alan Archibald Ronny Delia and John Hughes Tommy Craig and Alan Johnston
  5. He didn't, but a Cox scored for their opponents, Orient!
  6. Conference North Aiden Chippendale (Stalybridge Celtic 3-0 AFC Fylde)
  7. https://twitter.com/TheFly0nTheWall
  8. ICT FC Twitter report the signing of Horner at 11am on 11th August. BBC carried the same news at 2.45pm on the 9th August. 1-0 to Auntie Beeb!! Get in....
  9. This game will be something of a landmark for Billy as it sees him make his 100th league appearance for the club.
  10. A Freudian slip, perhaps?! 'Independent' information is all you'll get on Wings Over Scotland!
  11. What's this obsession with 'social media'!? To access it, you obviously have to be on-line...and if you are, why not use BBC or SKY Sports. There are dozens of live scores outlets, including the excellent http://www.livescores.com/. I still miss the unbeatable CEEFAX.
  12. Not sure if Lewis Horner's contract is for one or two years. For the purposes of this list, I'll go with one-year, until I see otherwise! Signed up until the end of season 2016-17: • Gary Warren • Richie Foran Signed up until the end of next season (2015-16): • John Hughes - Manager • Russell Latapy - Assistant Manager • Dean Brill • Aaron Doran • Danny Williams • Ryan Esson • Ryan Christie • Carl Tremarco • Ross Draper • James Vincent Signed up until the end of this season (2014-15): • Greg Tansey • Daniel Devine • Graeme Shinnie • Nick Ross • Marley Watkins • David Raven • Josh Meekings • Billy McKay • Liam Polworth • Lewis Horner • Jaime Wilson (U20's) • Kane Hull (U20's) • Jason Brown (U20's) • Struan McArthur (U20's) • Blair MacLennan (U20's) • Calum Howarth (U20's) • Chris Brown (U20's) • Ali Sutherland (U20's) • Stephen Rennie (U20's) • Cammy Mackay (goalkeeper) (U20's) • Chris Blackett (U20's) • Daniel Hoban (goalkeeper) (U20's) • Calum Ferguson (U20's) • Ryan Baptie (U20's)
  13. There's already a major thread on the Scottish Independence question, as well you know. I note it was also you who started a separate Salmond v Darling thread - it just fragments the debate. It clear your motivation is to 'draw attention' to your pro-No viewpoints. Pathetic.
  14. That's appalling for a newly promoted team's first game in the top flight! They make us look like Man Utd! Particularly bad when you consider that neither Celtic or The Rangers have games today. No excuse for Accies. There were over 5,000 at the game to qualify them to this level. They get there - and nobody's interested!
  15. Yes, I agree. It would be interesting to see the current voting intention, one year on from this poll...and just 6 weeks away from the actual vote!
  16. Not strictly true - although I'm sure you meant, Premiership! Queen of the South netted in 8 minutes. Edit: Just realised, Berwick scored in 6 mins!
  17. Not overly excited by our signing of Horner. However, we've got a reputation for re-igniting players' careers. He'll definitely have something to prove - in that he's better than the level he's recently been playing at. It's always handy to have a utility player, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and reserve judgement until he's had some game time. But I can't help thinking that he's a Hughes favourite and he wouldn't have been coming to us if they hadn't crossed paths before.
  18. Those who read this thread will probably already be aware that there's a debate coming up - here in Inverness - on Wednesday 20th August at Eden Court. Not quite as 'heavyweight' as Salmond v Darling, but still two big players. Scottish Secretary Alastair Carmichael will be debating against the SNP's John Swinney. There will be less than a month until polling day, so it's sure to be heated!
  19. Without knowing the number of votes cast, that poll should be taken with a pinch of salt. Also, as I've just done, it appears to be possible to cast multiple votes, therefore instantly losing any credence. The article was written by James Kelly, author of a Pro-Independence blog, so is clearly biased.
  20. Man of many clubs - Felipe Morais, has signed for Bradford City.. .I'm surprised he's still only 28. Seems to have been around for ages! Obligatory 'scarf holding' photo:
  21. Am I right in thinking that the indiscretion by Legia didn't, on it's own, result in them being expelled from the competition? In other words, fielding an ineligible player didn't get them thrown-out - they were punished with a 0-3 result for the particular game involved. If, for example, they'd won the first leg 5-1, would Legia still have gone through, on aggregate, despite the offence?! Confusing.
  22. Gil Blumstein has signed for Israeli Premier League side, Hapoel Ra'anana. Sounds like a good move for him as the other clubs he's been with since leaving us have been in the Israeli 2nd tier.
  23. Cheers. I hadn't picked that up. Obviously still a TV game, I assume.
