  1. Netball came top for me!!! That's worrying!
  2. I wondered what had happened to Greenhalgh! So he's back at Concord...I'm sure they'll be happy to have him back although I bet he feels he can play at a higher level!
  3. That'd end pretty badly, but I might
  4. I hope you do a 'worst' posters poll after this!
  5. 2.30pm.
  6. Not a great start for Michael Fraser and Matthew Cooper at Elgin City. Both making their competitive debuts yesterday - Elgin crashed 3-0 at home to Stirling in the Challenge Cup, with Cooper also getting sent-off!
  7. What nonsense! Scotland, at the time of writing, have 7 gold medals. Yorkshire have just 1 - the boy Brownlee in the triathlon.
  8. The waiters top I posted earlier wasn't too far off the mark!!! It looks like a onesie with a zip down the front - no doubt the shorts have Velcro down the sides so they can be ripped off...a la Loverboys strippers! (so, I'm told) Anyway, I'm not too struck on it. But, equally, I won't get too emotional over a strip. Yes, I'd prefer more (or at least some!) black in the kit, but the football club is the constant - the colours and designs vary. If we were to be choosing a designated, consistent template for the club, then yes, it'd be massive issue - but a new strip is transient...and, like it or hate it, it'll be gone in 2 years - and we'll all be posting on the 'new kit 2016/17' thread. So, for now, I'm not getting my blue shorts with red side-panels in a twist!
  9. If I had a vote I'd have thought it would be appropriate for them to go for something a wee bit more modern, like Queen's anthemic celebration, that everyone could sing along too. We Are the Champions Fat Bottomed Girls! Quality!
  10. I think there was a vote in 2010 and it came top beating God Save The Queen, Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Land of Hope and Glory! (did you not vote?!) They used to use Land of Hope and Glory, while we had Scotland the Brave. But now it seems to be Jerusalem and Flower of Scotland! I'm not a huge fan of it but am relieved it's not Donald where's yer troosers!!!!
  11. A penalty from Adam Rooney helped Aberdeen to a notable victory over Groningen last night. Barry Robson and Jonny Hayes also featured for the Dons. Got to say, it was an impressive result - but any good work done by them and St Johnstone (in terms of UEFA coefficients) was largely negated by Motherwell's defeat to a team from Iceland!
  12. Sam Winnall has left Scunthorpe and signed a 3 year deal with Barnsley.
  13. A thread for tonight's game. Our last match before the significant challenges presented by the English duo of Fleetwood Town and Birmingham City. Hopefully a few U20 guys will feature for us. I'm not going tonight, but no doubt a 'die-hard' will be there to report on events!
  14. He's 'flying' 'tisnow! I'm sure you're spot-on about there being a lot of the 'kids' playing last night, as the Highland League website advertised the game as being our U19's. Huntly v Ellon United (7.45pm) Wick Academy v Elgin City (7.45pm) Clachnacuddin v Ross County (7.30pm) Dufftown v Lossiemouth (7.30pm) Keith v Inverness CT U19s (7.30pm) Nairn St Ninian v Strathspey (7.15pm I expect tonight's game against Deveronvale will feature a mixture of the first team and U20's, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ferguson was again involved at some point! Could we have unwittingly, from with-in, solved our search for another striker?! I certainly see him making his full first team debut this season. Maybe our early League Cup game?
  15. This game finished 2-1 to Keith, but I've no further details.
  16. Spanish 3rd tier club, Cultural Leonesa have had a novelty kit for pre-season. A tuxedo themed top - it's been so well received that the club are going to use it as their change strip! Totally quirky and completely unique. It would be like playing against waiters!
  17. Sorry, Renegade. I meant, basically, we need to decide - stripes or not! Other clubs tend not to vary from their historical pattern. Can't we make our minds up!
  18. Trying to find a blend between two strikingly different kits is always going to be difficult, particularly when the two clubs played in blue/white and red/black. Mucking about with different designs every few years leaves us 'wide open' to accusations of not knowing our own identity and being an artificial club. We need to have a consistent , recognisable identity - and this should have been addressed at the outset. Obviously, the debate had more to do with the feasibility of such a club, rather than what colours it would be wearing. But, rightly so - a time-scale had to be met. However, this constant changing of kit is pathetic. Ask a football fan in the street to name the colours of Scotland's clubs: Celtic - green/white hoops Ross County - navy blue Aberdeen - red St Mirren - black/white stripes Hibs - green/white arms Dundee Utd - tangerine Hearts - maroon The Rangers - blue Kilmarnock - blu/white stripes Motherwell - amber Dundee - navy blue St Johnstone - blue Elgin - black?white stripes etc. ICT - Nobody knows. And we wonder why we're still considered a joke club?! Yes, it may take 60 years or more until the last Thistle or Caley fan 'passes on', leaving the debate behind, but surely, in the present, can't we find an identity, a unity, a consistent set of colours that we're recognised by?
  19. Teasing us with words rather than pictures this year, CaleyD I'm assuming Sunday will be the reveal.... Unless the Courier run a picture of the new kit, either tomorrow or Friday, with (probably) Richie Foran modelling it! There will surely be stripes, surely! - if not, I fear there's an insidious effort to phase them out - in which case my mouse will be pointing in the direction of the Merger Talk thread!!!
  20. Sorry. I was going to post it in articles, but they are all results and comments with a couple of reports thrown in so sod it, I posted it in the reports section. Some of them are tweets, but that's all we have to go on. Just trying to keep everything in order before the season starts. I know you were - I was just being pedantic!
  21. Other score today : Rothes 2-3 Inverness CT U20's
  22. That's hardly a report! It's a compiled version of Twitter posts!
  23. I've a pal at the game who told me he'd text updates - so far - one text! Half time 0-0.
  24. I'm not sure of the exact criteria but I'm sure there's some stipulation they must be missing at Cove. I know it's a very tight ground with no seating provision for fans - although they do have sponsors seats! Banks O' Dee have a small stand. Banks O' Dee probably should have been admitted to the Highland League the last time there were vacancies. I seem to recall they had what appeared to be a better case than certainly, Strathspey and likely Turriff and Formartine. However, I think 'self interest' saw them miss out!
