  1. I agree with you Roscoe23 - Scotland has come a long way in a relatively short time... They did really well to get so close to qualification in a very tough group... I was just making the point that a 3rd place finish is regarded as a success in one camp and utter failure in another... I'm happy with Big Eck in charge and hope he continues to take Scotland forward... Regarding "best since Jock Stein" - Walter Smith would come close - whether as manager of club or country....
  2. At least they've recognised and accepted failure down in Engandshire - their underperforming, overpaid superstars have been suitably castigated and now Stevie boy's out on his ear.... Meanwhile here in Caledonia, after defeat at home by Italy, our lads do a lap of honour, and Big Eck's hailed as the greatest manager we've had since Jock Stein... :024:
  3. KB.... That's Peter DavISON... :018:

  6. Sorry Caley100... I still say the shyte will hit the fan around 5pm on Saturday if ICT lose this one... :018:
  7. Methinks Caleyoneup is probably too young to recall just what an inspirational figure Roy Aitken was for Celtic & Scotland... Like Scotty I'm very happy with McLeish in charge but it's good to know Aitken's around. I would have no fears about him taking charge in the future.... I can recall much disquiet at Ibrox when Walter Smith succeeded Graeme Souness as boss there.... There were many there who only saw Walter as a good Number 2....
  8. Probably not.... But you blo0dy well should...!! :33:

  10. WOW....!!! Can't wait....!! :crazy07:
  11. It's a real catch 22 isn't it.... The manager obviously has to set the rules, and leave his players in absolutely no doubt as to what is acceptable and what isn't. I wonder how Alex Ferguson would have reacted to Black's alleged behaviour at the Motherwell game..? Unfortunately Brewster doesn't have too many options... You just can't leave out players with undoubted talent, such as Rankin, Black or Niculae without it having an effect on how the team performs. I believe that in the long term Brewster's appointment will prove to be a good one... Unfortunately he will need time to gather and develop the right kind of players... Players that will be prepared to accept his methods, ideas, tactics etc... It also remains to be seen whether having Donald as his Number 2 is going to work or not. Hopefully his saving grace for this season will be the fact that Gretna appear to be certainties for relegation. I quite sure Brewster is prepared to be here for the long haul and will turn ICT's fortunes round by the end of this season.... He will need time however... Will he get that..?
  12. It would be great to see them back again.... I would like to see the Republic of Ireland included in it as well... Given Scotland's performance throughout their qualifying group, compared with Engerlands through theirs - we would murder them right now... :021:
  13. Roy Aitken for me too.... in fact I think he could go on to achieve more than Big Eck has with some great young talent on the way up.... I really don't think club affiliations would influence Gordon Smith....
  14. Strange - No mention of Black or Rankin.... Not in his thoughts..? :024: http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...1172571,00.html
  15. cr@p This could run & run..!!
  16. It's probably been tampered with by the spirit world..!! :evil06:
  17. Shame Paul Robinson has been dropped for England tonight... This will forever be for me, one of the all time great goals scored against England... :021: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mpTvg2-Mz-M :015: :015: :015:
  18. What a pathetic story.... http://sport.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1832052007 When did anyone ever listen to Richard Gough..?
  19. Belfasts not in the right place either - Still...they managed to get London right....
  20. inadequate
  21. So.... who's gonna win this one..? Who do you want to win this one..? I'll be shouting for England.... It'll be good to have something to laugh at in next year's finals.... :015: :015:
  22. You can see Madness almost every two weeks at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium..... :023:
  23. It's team spirit which played a large part in getting us where we are today, and it doesn't matter how much discipline Brewster dishes out, or how many extra days Park comes in to work with the lads for additional training, if the current set-up is sapping our biggest asset (team spirit) then it needs to be put right, and it needs to be put right sooner rather than later. Great post - absolutely spot on with that (above) comment.... :clapping03:
  24. CB did get rid of several overpaid, under-performing players at Utd..... Fortunately no one at ICT comes into that catagory.... :023:
  25. I don't believe anyone wants to see fall outs.... There have been many threads and posts recently suggesting something, somewhere is going badly wrong at ICT.... You and I were both at that supporters trust meeting when it was clearly spelled out that DP would be remaining in his position as Number 2 - no matter who was going to get the manager's job. Didn't you think at the time there might be problems with that....? I think it's been pretty well established over the years in footie circles, that whoever is appointed team manager gets to appoint his own Number 2 and backroom staff....
