  1. Ok... fair comment - he is entitled to his opinion of course, but given that he is wanting to take a back seat now, and is prepared to relinquish his shareholding within the club, why should anyone pay any attention for the direction he thinks Scottish football should be taking? Does it not now boil down to who's opinion you have the most respect for? Terry Butcher or David Sutherland?
  2. Good question. I don't think it would work this time. I'm old enough to remember when the Scottish Premier Division was created back in the 70's, and we went from an 18 team Div 1 to a premier league of 10. I didn't think it did anything for the game at that time, and can't see how it would be any different this time. We had some terrific games in Div 1 last season, and lots of good away days. If you were to add the current top 4 of Div 1 to the current SPL that for me would make a very attractive 16 team league. There would still have to be a split to avoid completely meaningless games in the middle of the table towards the end of the season. The ideas of a 14 or a 16 league set up, or even the status quo just has to preferable to another 10 team SPL. Sky TV should not be calling all the shots - they will kill the game off completely as a spectator sport. They're not interested in bums on seats - only in bums in pubs, and armchair sports package people. . .
  3. Michael Johnson of Kilmarnock is talking more sense than anyone else on this programme.
  4. He was on Sportsound a few days ago and would not directly answer any questions as to what he thought was the best way forward for Scottish football. I got the distinct impression he was in favour of a ten team set up. The David Sutherlands of this world are motivated entirely by greed.
  5. My question would be : Why should someone (Henry McLeish) who was forced to quit politics after an expenses fiddle scandal be charged with the responsibility of coming up with a new league structure?
  6. Gloves are off now - this could be interesting!
  7. Actually, if you listen to TB's post match speech/rant you could almost be forgiven for thinking we won the game. It was certainly a moral victory.
  8. Hail the new Messiah!! Well done, TB.... Delivering speeches like that it's not hard to see how you get our boys well and truly fired up with your team talks. The SPL will now seriously have to completely rethink their league reconstruction plans. Keep it up old son....you're not just putting not just Caley Thistle on the map, but the City of Inverness as well.
  9. Bad luck guys.... sounded like a great fightback towards the end.
  10. Hibs are out... 1-0 Ayr United. End of the road for Calderwood?
  11. Worse possible time to concede.... Otherwise sounded like a decent half for us. All is not necessarily lost.
  12. Thought you were meant to be at work.
  13. That was all but a done deal according to the media, but it's not going to happen. Maybe someone should have asked Martin O'Neill.
  14. I'm taking flak over on P'n'B for making that very point. Sophia can be so bitchy.
  15. Another trek down the A9 just 3 days after Mothersmell, much to TB's disgust. This will be a tough test and I'll be very happy with 1 point. Controversial I know, but I think Rooney should be rested for this one, until he decides where his future lies. ..........Esson....... Tokely Innes Munro Shinnie Ross Duff Duncan Sanchez Foran .........Sutherland....... Subs : Tuffey, Proctor, Eric, Rooney, Blumenshtein
  16. Can't see it without Jonny Hayes back in the side. Had it been played on the date it was originally scheduled for, there is a very good chance he would have played. Sounds like Rangers might have found a wee bit of form again - I'd be delighted with a point on Tuesday night.
  17. Sounds like Rooney's got a lot on his mind just now. Suspect today will have been his last game for ICT.
  18. I'd prefer to see any surplus cash go towards a replacement striker in the short term.
  19. You know what they say if something sounds too good to be true.....
  20. 200k plus nish ive heard. I thought the Inter stuff was pretty bad, but that is really taking the p1ss. Or do you mean we give them the 200K?
  21. Yes.... Once we've signed a couple of Inter players on loan in exchange for Rooney.
  22. Eric the Enigma.
  23. And he talked Rossco out of a move to Turkey!
  24. Looks likes we'll now be facing both Motherwell and Rangers without Jonny Hayes. Had the Rangers game been played as originally scheduled, there's every chance he would have been fit for that one. Very unfair.
