  2. Bit like the way your business works!
  3. Cracker of a game this - no one else watching it? Man U still just 1 up, despite L/pool down to 10 men with Gerrard having been sent off. Liverpool still very much in this tie.
  4. if anyone is trying to find this game on Sky it's on London ITV Channel 993 Man U 1 up. Giggs pen.
  5. Various reasons Don. The main two being my youngest has NO interest at all in going to a game, so I cant exactly go off and leave him on his own.....especially when he is supposed to be spending time with me. When i asked my other son yesterday why he wanted to come to a game with me, he didnt know, i think he just wants to spend time with me. He doesnt even understand the rules of the game! Second Reason....not that its anyones business, I dont work coz of health reasons....so money is tight....especially from OCT - March every year. He'd have been in good company SMEE.... There's plenty out there who don't understand the rules the game!
  6. Fishing he maybe, but he might have a point regarding the poor turnout from the home support. I noticed lots of ST holders in the main stand were awol. It was their loss - I thoroughly enjoyed this game - plenty of good performances - two good goals, lots of near misses, Elgin made a decent fist of it with what they had at their disposal, and nearly succeeded in taking it to a replay. Keeper Donnelly was superb. Even the half-time pies were good - hot and tasty, and there is no better omen in football than that! The stay-away fans were the losers yesterday.
  7. True.... His appointment will certainly give today's clash with Man U an extra edge.
  8. Hellgin made it tough for us and defended very well - I thought their keeper was outstanding. They might even have snatched a goal with 10 minutes to go, when Tuffey kicked a back-pass against one of their forwards - that one could have gone anywhere. Great game to watch - in suspenders until well into stoppage time. Disagree with Hislopoffside - I thought Foran did well, plenty of commitment and a couple of decent overhead attempts - looked more likely to score for me than Rooney, who's not been looking as sharp as he has been this season. Great to see Sanchez getting that goal - that must put him ahead of Eric in the pecking order. Blumenshtein not even on the bench today - doubt if we'll see him kick another ball for ICT, and wouldn't be surprised to see him move on before the end of the month. Rooney would be relieved to get on the scoresheet after some good work by Ross and Sanchez.
  9. Indeed.... The Hearts game for Sunday has been called off - burst pipes in the USH system.
  10. I'm inclined to agree with that. Liverpool fans are said to be having multiple orgasms over this because of his legendary status at Annfield. He was a fantastic player, and then player/manager in his day, but never quite rose to the same heights as a manager.
  11. Hodgeson's left Liverpool and KD's taken on the job till the end of the season. Wonder if John Barnes will be his assistant.
  12. It makes you realise how the events that culminated in Culloden might have arisen....
  13. I noticed that too, which is a bit different from what he was saying just 1 month ago in the same paper : See here
  14. Some of the Ipswich fans are (surprisingly) suggesting George Burley. Would TB consider teaming up with him again? Maybe it's a good thing for us that we are having a poor run of form at the moment.
  15. He might do ok with the likes of Scott Brown, Sung Yueng or McCourt around him... .
  16. Pathetic wind up merchant... Who were you before you became Nigel?
  17. Unless he's desperate to get away, (and I don't believe that is the case) he could do himself and the club a huge favour by signing the contract currently on offer. At the end of the season the club (and Adam) could indicate that they are open to offers. Under these circumstances I would expect the club would be looking for offers well in excess of of 500k.
  18. This is interesting from the Scotsman 3 years ago and provides a possible explanation as to how this awful situation, and others similar have arisen. There clearly needs to be a complete rethink in relation to how the ambulance network is financed and managed - particularly in rural areas. I inclined to suspect the SAS are attracting the wrong kind of personnel - employees, who's primary concerns are for a well paid job, which provides regular hours and regular breaks. As Scotty says (above)working for the SAS (and other services) should not be looked on as "just a job" Hard to imagine The Mountain Rescue boys or the Lifeboat boys refusing to go and help someone in trouble just because they are "on a break"
  19. It just needs to be scrapped. Full stop.
  20. Okay,okay.... I'm clearly out-voted on Bloomers.... Maybe TB should give him another chance.... Maybe he'll prove me completely wrong and score a hat-trick. I'd be more than happy with a plate of humble pie. I just hope, no matter what the team is, no one will be under-estimating Hellgin, who will be up for this one. The last thing ICT need at the moment is an upset on Saturday with a draw - or worse.
  21. Think I know who you've got in mind there....
  22. Not if you drink in Wetherspoons.
  23. Somehow I find the press's version of events more believable than those of Bauhaus. There's an updated story in today's P&J see here I would find it very hard to accept that all or any of the comments from the deceased lady's family have been mis-reported.
  24. Esson Duff Tokely Munro Golabeck Cox Duncan Sanchez Foran Ross Rooney Subs : Tuffey, McBain, Eric, Sutherland, Shinnie, Can't believe so many previous posters want to see Blumenshtein retain his place.
  25. I used to believe that people actually took up careers as firemen, nurses, doctors, paramedics, etc, out of some kind of desire to help their fellow human beings, and possibly even save lives. A bit like those who become vets because they love and want to care for animals. I obviously couldn't have been more naive or misguided with my beliefs.
