Leigh Griffiths
I agree it is important to the Scottish game that Dundee extricate themselves from the mess they have got themselves in through years of mismanagement. I wouldn't agree that ICT could just have easily found themselves in the same situation. Our BoD do come in for a lot stick from time to time, but they have done very well in the club's short history to get then where they are at the present moment.

No change to league position
Hopefully we'll pick up our away form again on Saturday. It would be a massive 3 points.

Scottish Cup 5th round
I shudder to think what he might be trying to pull.

Rangers game moved
It might be hard on the Glasgow/central belt based away support, but if the SPL and/or Rangers won't reconsider, I think a boycott for this one would be in order.

What did he say about Rooney?

Scottish Cup 5th round
I 'll just bookmark this qoute for future reference JB! And no, I don't want a bottle of malt on the outcome OK, H/Dee.... I'll be happy to settle for a blend on this occasion. You of the un-refined palate.

Scottish Cup 5th round
This is a draw that should see us progress smoothly and effortlessly into the last 8. I'm very happy that it's a home tie - at least there's not so much travelling involved.

MERGED: Rooney Transfer ???
I can't get the link to the P&J story I pasted at the top of this page to work now.... For what it's worth, this was the story : Quote : Russians in ?100,000 bid for Rooney INVERNESS ATTACKER IS A WANTED MAN Published: 11/01/2011 RUSSIAN club Kuban Krasnodar have made a ?100,000 offer for Caley Thistle attacker Adam Rooney. The Press and Journal reported last week the Russians had made their approach for the free-scoring 22-year-old, a claim manager Terry Butcher swiftly rebuffed. Butcher labelled it as nonsense but a bid has now been lodged with the Scottish Premier League side. Caley Thistle are now pondering the six- figure sum for their leading scorer, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Rooney is believed to be interested in a Russian switch to follow in the footsteps of Aiden McGeady and Garry O?Connor by playing in the country. The former Ireland under-21 international, who has scored 14 times this season, is out of contract in the summer and free to talk to interested clubs. Newly-promoted Kuban Krasnodar ? managed by former Chelsea player Dan Petrescu ? want Rooney to lead their attack when their campaign begins in March. Rooney is on the radar of several clubs in Scotland and England, including League 1 club Huddersfield, while Swiss side Young Boys of Berne are also interested. The former Stoke City trainee has scored 11 times in the league and twice in the League Cup, having netted 26 times to help propel Caley Jags to the First Division title last season. MERGED: Rooney Transfer ???
100k according to the P&J Totally agree that this is very likely to be a bad move all round - He'd be much better advised to stay put for at least one more season, then have another look at his options.

Man U vs Liverpool
Cracker of a game this - no one else watching it? Man U still just 1 up, despite L/pool down to 10 men with Gerrard having been sent off. Liverpool still very much in this tie.

Various reasons Don. The main two being my youngest has NO interest at all in going to a game, so I cant exactly go off and leave him on his own.....especially when he is supposed to be spending time with me. When i asked my other son yesterday why he wanted to come to a game with me, he didnt know, i think he just wants to spend time with me. He doesnt even understand the rules of the game! Second Reason....not that its anyones business, I dont work coz of health reasons....so money is tight....especially from OCT - March every year. He'd have been in good company SMEE.... There's plenty out there who don't understand the rules the game!

Fishing he maybe, but he might have a point regarding the poor turnout from the home support. I noticed lots of ST holders in the main stand were awol. It was their loss - I thoroughly enjoyed this game - plenty of good performances - two good goals, lots of near misses, Elgin made a decent fist of it with what they had at their disposal, and nearly succeeded in taking it to a replay. Keeper Donnelly was superb. Even the half-time pies were good - hot and tasty, and there is no better omen in football than that! The stay-away fans were the losers yesterday.

Kenny Dalglish...
True.... His appointment will certainly give today's clash with Man U an extra edge.

ICT -V- Elgin City : Matchday Thread
Hellgin made it tough for us and defended very well - I thought their keeper was outstanding. They might even have snatched a goal with 10 minutes to go, when Tuffey kicked a back-pass against one of their forwards - that one could have gone anywhere. Great game to watch - in suspenders until well into stoppage time. Disagree with Hislopoffside - I thought Foran did well, plenty of commitment and a couple of decent overhead attempts - looked more likely to score for me than Rooney, who's not been looking as sharp as he has been this season. Great to see Sanchez getting that goal - that must put him ahead of Eric in the pecking order. Blumenshtein not even on the bench today - doubt if we'll see him kick another ball for ICT, and wouldn't be surprised to see him move on before the end of the month. Rooney would be relieved to get on the scoresheet after some good work by Ross and Sanchez.

game on?
Indeed.... The Hearts game for Sunday has been called off - burst pipes in the USH system.
-
Kenny Dalglish...
I'm inclined to agree with that. Liverpool fans are said to be having multiple orgasms over this because of his legendary status at Annfield. He was a fantastic player, and then player/manager in his day, but never quite rose to the same heights as a manager.

Kenny Dalglish...
Hodgeson's left Liverpool and KD's taken on the job till the end of the season. Wonder if John Barnes will be his assistant.

Ipswich's form
Some of the Ipswich fans are (surprisingly) suggesting George Burley. Would TB consider teaming up with him again? Maybe it's a good thing for us that we are having a poor run of form at the moment.
