  1. DJS makes a good point. We have great depth in midfield. I'm not sure Charlie knows what his best midfield is and i'm sure Morgan will have a part to play at some stage this season. He has probabably suffered from the fact that we are obliged to have two youngsters on the bench. Is he playing in the reserves?
  2. Hastings was poor yesterday. He gets caught out of position too often and his clearances are diabolical. We need to strengthen in the left-back area and i hope Charlie does that after Christmas. Hastings can go back to Dingwall, though i don't think he'll be doubling his wages this time.
  3. I didn't think Hibs so good until they scored. Before that they had seen a lot of the ball without creating a great deal. The game was very open for spells, with Barry choosing not to chase back too often as Hibs tend to leave three up. If Dargo had scored before half time, or if McBain hadn't fluffed his one on one then we could be looking back on another great away victory at Easter Road. I'm still concerned about the midfield though. Rankin goes missing too often and Roy isn't playing well. Well done to Duncan though, who was pretty solid.
  4. Just phoned the ticket office and students will have to pay the full price. Student concessions only apply to home fans. The woman on the phone was a *****, let's get it up them.
  5. Duncan played well on Monday night, but Blackie offers so much more and has to come back.
  6. 4-4-2 of course but we must change the midfield which was walked over on Saturday, with Duncan dropping out for Hart and McBain moving inside: WILSON - HART - MCBAIN - RANKIN Tempting as it is to call for the return of Dennis, Bayne deserves to start once again.
  7. Must stress just how much Rossco and Hastings stood off their wide men. We seemed content to spend the second half sitting very deep and scrambling the ball away to Bayne and Dargo who both put in a terrific amount of running. It was very frustrating to watch and i spent most of the second half screaming for us to get the ball down and calm down. Would've been great to see Dennis get 20 minutes but instead Charlie gave Rory 10. Rory was ineffectual, and possibly deserved to get sent off. We must make changes before the Aberdeen game.
  8. We really missed Ian Black. Duncan had a nightmare in the second half. Not only did he give the ball away on a number of occasions, but the game passed him by completely as St. Mirren strolled past our midfield again and again. He blew his chance, and Charlie must change the midfield again for the Aberdeen game.
  9. Can't really see Rankin getting dropped! As for 3-5-2, who would you drop from the defence? Would Roy play wingback? Would Barry move inside? Too many questions. Everyone in this team knows their job, i think it would be a disaster to start messing around with a winning formula.
  10. It's great to see that Charlie has it in him to make a radical change if a game isn't going to plan. Neither Brew or Robbo seemed to be willing to that. However, our team is built on a very solid back 4 that picks itself. I don't think we should mess with our formation unless we're losing.
  11. Can't argue with that team or formation. One enforced change (Hart for Black). It would be silly to make any more changes to a team which is unbeaten in 6.
  12. Brewster Must Go Brewster Must Go Hallo Hallo Maybe the Arabs will even join in with us.
  13. Assuming that our tactics for Saturday don't involve sacking Charlie, i suggest something mildly less controversial. Bring back Russell Duncan. I don't know whether he would come in for McBain Or Rankin, but i believe he is needed to balance midfield which looks far too lightweight. Otherwise unchanged.
  14. We were solid on Saturday but nothing more. Getting carried away with this result is like getting carried away with the Scotland's 6-0 win over the Faroes. Motherwell defended very, very badly, particularly at set pieces from which three of our goals came. Star men for me were Blackie, Bayne and Barry while the back four looked as comfortable with each other as they did for most of last season. But for Charlie to say that 4 or 5 players put in their best Caley performances is just unbelievable and worries me. I'd really like to know who they were. On this evidence, Motherwell are certainties to be relegated and the result is a very good confidence booster going into Saturday's game - Brewster's last in SPL mangement.
  15. Someone needs to find out exactly what Charlie's on about. If he's getting hourly updates from his secretary then i want them too.
