Rooney
You have to be in it to win it. Rooney at least gets into the position, although his scoring has dried up. I thought we were more of an attacking threat when Rooney came on. Foran was quiet in the first half but did well to set up Procs goal. He was really fired up just after the break but was unable to produce anything inside the box. To be fair to Rooney his chance was slightly wider than he would have liked, but he shot on target and the keeper did what he was supposed to do, he blocked the shot. I doubt any top striker would have scored ten out of ten attempts from the same position. He also won his share of high balls knocked forward and is sturdy in the challenge. More game time for him beckons, maybe alongside Foran who is playing well but is a long way from his target of 20 goals.

Both are true statements though. We are a shell of our former selves. Lets not kid ourselves any longer. We all knew it was going to be tough, but I am not sure the management team knew just how hard it was going to be. The problem is our players are not as good as the previous players we have had at this club, ie, we lack the quality. Unless Butcher can come up with some gems in the January sales we have to set our sights a little lower.

Typical home fare from us, no cutting edge. We actually were better than we were in the first half and the Pars must have wondered why they were trailing at half time. Good jump by Foran to knock it down for Proc who reacted quickest to stroke the ball home. Esson made a fantastic save in the first half, which was equalled in the second half when Pars keeper tipped the ball onto the bar and over. Rooney although he did not score, at least offered a direct threat, but his one on one was not an obvious sitter as the keeper narrowed him down and blocked well as his goalbound effort was cleared. Pars goal from a quick corner caught us out, but Kirk's finish was good as his header maybe went over Esson and off the bar and into the roof of the net. Foran was not a happy bunny when subbed, and appeared to toss his jacket away, not surprised as he was warming up nicely, I wonder if Butch thought he was getting tooooo involved, however, wrong move in my book. We will be happier with the draw than Dunfy, as their passing game was better than our long ball game. Bayne was a handful, as was their left back. Sorry, not big on names just now. They were slicker around the box, just as they were in the opening fixture, but this time Coxy could not pierce the defence. We look like a team of individuals, maybe something Butcher should be looking at. The big disappointment was Hayes injuring himself innocuously and Imrie's rather insipid performance. Rossco went quiet after being booked, no surprise there. All is not lost, but we look a very long way from being a decent first division side. Best for us................Esson for that breathtaking save, Foran for puttiong himself about and Proctor for his goal and general play.

How much more direct do you want.................he crossed the ball straight into the back of the net against County.
-
Eagle
There you go then, if we keep the ball to our own players then we don't lose goals.

Eagle
I thought his ball retention was not too bad. He is not as direct as Hayes but he tries to keep the ball within his own team, if that means going back then thats what he will do. I have seen him snapping at opposition heels. For the life of me though, I don't see that he is any better that what Zander Sutherland was, they are almost identical. Therein lies Mr Butchers problems, the players he has brought in just don't have any value add. We have released guys like Vigurs and Wood, Roy not getting a game and we have not increased the quality of our squad. Now that is down to the present manager.

No Midfield
As it says on the tin. Our midfield is now just a complete joke. We should have one of the better defences in this league, but because our midfield is totally rubbish, the defence and attack are made to look very poor. No creation, no passion and no ball winners. No pace to help out the attack. Something has to change and it has to change fast. We are now just another struggling football team and unless a miracle happens, we will be in the doldrums for a long long time to come.

Another doing at home. How much longer can this go on. I was quietly optimistic after watching the first half and eagerly waited for the second half to start. What went wrong? We went from decent to being on the back foot and as soon as the second goal went in we just new it was all over for us. We remarked at half time that Queens were one of the poorest teams we had seen in Inverness this season. They were only fooling around with us and when they realised we were impotent they upped their game and ran out comfortable winners. First and third goals were excellent strikes. In the first half Grantie & Bully had Holmes and Wyness measured, apart from the opening goal. Did Weatherson make them tick over better? Something happened at half time anyway, as we looked a completely different team, and it was not for the better. We are so ineffective up front. Plenty of possession, but little to trouble the keeper. Rossco did thunder one towards the top corner, which the keeper saved brilliantly, but oither than that I don't recall us over working him. This is getting tedious now. We used to play with pride and flair and could always mount a cavalry charge when required. Not any more. We used to score loads of goals, in fact when we won promotion our goal difference was something like plus 36. Not any more. Foran was playing well yesterday, everything he did was carried out with skill and quality, unfortunately it all happened outside the penalty box. We have no midfield, therefore the strikers get no suppoprt and the defence get to help. I am now officially disgruntled, and it's been a long time since I was gruntled.

Out Now Butcher !
I have one or two issues with the post. Eagle - GET FURTHER UP THE PITCH and STOP USING GOLLY AS YER SCAPEGOAT...I quite like Eagle, I may be on my own here though. Sanchez - STAY FORWARD MORE AND GET STUCK IN..........for me, he just needs to go somewhere else. Bulvitis - Just go back to the Latvian league, at least Mihadjuks tried when he was here!......he was not out of place today, not outstanding, just no worse than others. Tokely yer past it son, yer gettin yer arse skelped by players running riot past you all the time. Munro Yer no a captain yer just a useless hoofer away and join McGuire at Formartine! I don't think either of the last two statements are true.

Incidents:4113 spectators at the Nuevo Colombino. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UD Las Palmas farewell KO tournament after losing tonight against Recreativo Huelva. The Andalusian rallied the opening goal by Sergio Suarez, after scoring on a penalty marro second play through it. Before the break, Carmona tied it with another death penalty, very doubtful. In the second half, rallied Barrales the meeting to give his team the win. Two penalties marked the first forty-five minutes of the game. Both found satisfactory response from the goalkeepers, but both eventually ended up in the respective networks. But they did it for different reasons. For yellow, because Nathan Tyson took the rebound of his initial shot to shot Guaita. On the other side recreatives because Hevia Works sent Carmona pitching for the second time a maximum sentence he had already tackled Pindado. UD Las Palmas jumped into the swift lawn thanks to the rains in the city of Huelva during the afternoon and field-relevant irrigation of Nuevo Colombino with the mission and hope to erase the sour taste of Cordoba. And he did it with many new faces, seven in the starting eleven in all lines. Only repeated Juanpa, David Garcia, Miguel Garcia and Darino the last eleven. Just passed the quarter-hour it took to undo the matched the yellow team. The Danish central Troest Marr? an assignment by a partner who took so clever, Saul. The Asturian tip entered the area, dribbled back into the Nordic defender, and was clearly down. The penalty, of course, was executed by Sergio Suarez. Something centered and low, Guaita rejected, but the shooter shot at second play Gran Canaria. Just over gave him the first half until the epilogue. Another maximum penalty scored the game six minutes before the break. A new penalty, more than doubtful in the beginning, ended up being a draw. Carmona, performer Huelva, shot to the left of Pindado, but he interrupted the launch. Hevia Works, at the urging of his assistant, ordered to repeat the death penalty. Again the same place, more adjusted to the post, that despite the new stretch of yellow goal, ended in the network. The second half started lively with the yellow goal for Recreativo. Fornaroli was second for his team in a move that picked up a center and was unopposed free to finish, but shot wide when the Columbian singing and the goal. Juanpa corresponded with a low shot from outside the box in the right apex, which responded with its stretched Bernardo. Barrales back the party Sergio Kresic moved the bench with the entry of Alvaro y Javi Guerrero, with the aim to create more offensive activity in yellow. Pignol Beranger had previously replaced. At twelve minutes after the restart, I had made three changes to the Balkans. Any statement of intent that was not worth going to penalties. However, he was struck Recreativo. The misfortune was beset behind and a yellow ball slipped between the legs of Samuel, with such bad luck that he was seized with Carmona. The blue-white player's arrival gave Barrales, who shot by satin Pindado before leaving to go up the meeting for your team. And he could be worse, if Pindado fails to hit a great shot at close range intervention itself Barrales. UD Las Palmas tried in vain to the last extertor party. Suarez Sergio Darin and staged two shots from a distance at this final stage, but this time to level the match never came. With this defeat, the third in a row, UD Las Palmas says goodbye to the Cup and will focus this season in the league. Perfect, now thats how to write a match report.
