  1. Hibs really fancy their chances ' Hibs assistant head coach John Potter has urged the Easter Road squad to forget dreaming of Scottish Cup glory and concentrate on cementing their place in the Premiership’s top six. A favourable quarter-final draw pitching Hibs at home against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, the lowest ranked club remaining in the competition, has given them an outstanding chance of progressing into the last four.'
  2. Sunshine on Leith - Jack Ross, is he the man to lift Hibs second Scottish Cup triumph? They will be far more dangerous than Livy so a gargantuan performance will be required to even get a draw. Hibs fans must really fancy their chances with this draw.
  3. Let no one underestimate how well the team played and how determined they were as a group to progress. What chance we draw Rangers at home, lose to their Colts next Sunday and create another bit of history against their first team? Certainly a home draw at about 16.00 hours today will at least give us a better chance of making the Semi's again although Celtic at home would not be my first choice. I would like Ross County.....hang on a fricking minute...........
  4. Weather not looking too good....https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/week/inverness_united-kingdom_2646088?day=2 Should level it up a bit given Livvy's preference for artificial surfaces.
  5. The BBC has a very good article on the second coming of Livingston. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51368590 After the Alloa cup victory there was a sense of 'winnable' after the next round draw. We have a very good cup record especially under Robbo, but after Livy savour their trip tomorrow to Dingwall, we certainly do have an almighty cup tie this Saturday when they make their second journey up the A9 in a few days. Livy start as massive favourites.
  6. Good news financially. Positive thinking helped us beat Celtic 20 years ago.............
  7. Harper is a very good player. We should be pleased he is back. We can but hope there is a real coming together of the group of players we have. Financially we need to accept the position and maximise the options we have.
  8. I wonder how long it would take to get Bobby Mann fit again?
  9. It would be unusual having three out of four left footed players in the back four.
  10. Would have preferred Ross County at home....................but any home tie in a cup competition is not to be sneezed at. Wicki claims their highest transfer payment was £60K to ICT for Barry Wilson. Ironically they are over the bridge on the 5th February.
  11. From the highlights have just noticed that Aaron scored one and made two. Well done to that man!!
  12. A tasty game for us next week in Ayr though!
  13. ......we should have paid peanuts for Andy Barrowman......but basically good luck to Coll. Football can be a very short career so make the most of your pay rise.
  14. Shane will be absolutely hungry for success as a full timer. He is no Bobby Linn but bear in mind Bobby is 34 and in a tough day job.
  15. What this demonstrates is that Robbo has real resilience. It was great to see the supporters at Dens getting behind him. Here we are second in the league, in a poor financial position, key players looking to secure their short term careers elsewhere, and Robbo remains incredibly enthusiastic and getting results against the odds.
  16. Berra is not in a buyer's market. He may have to get humble.
  17. Lifeline for Christophe Berra..?
  18. Superb football in the first half. Superb support......................especially 'Paul McGowan..................does your Mum cut your hair?' and as the dejected Dundee supporters trudged out 'Was there a fire alarm?' However, with 20 games gone, the transfer window and bad weather soon to affect games, we should be realistic and fully accept that Dundee United will be worthy champions. Congratulations to them. However, we must grind out results to see if we can take second.
  19. ''Atlanta United are weighing up a £200,000 move for Hearts winger Jake Mulraney. (Daily Record).'' Hope there was a sell on clause in his transfer.
  20. Starry, starry night...I could have told you Vincent that save was never meant for you....
  21. Why moan? 2-0 against a very good Dunfermline side charging up the table was a very good result. You could go through the whole team and pick out good points with every player. Here are a few. Aaron looked really on form yesterday. Carson adds real bite and drive to the midfield. Trafford has now bedded in and deserves his place. Keatings is building up his fitness again. Rooney is the chief overlapping nutmegger. White wins a lot of headers on throw ins. Miles now able to check back and defend when danger threatens. Mark made some absolutely crucial saves. The back five had a fair amount of control over possession and were looking to set up attacks rather than dilly and dally as happened earlier in the season. Five clean sheets out of the last six games is good news going forward. We are currently operating with quite a settled team. Here's hoping Nottingham Forest soon come up with a big money offer for Shankland which would motivate all teams in the Championship to haul back Dundee United. So lets be very positive going into the game against Arbroath because if ever an opposition needed a doing at the Caledonian Stadium it is they.
  22. Always thought the Dundee game was a season's game changer. Beating Ayr now becomes very crucial in terms of using this run to our advantage. Our passing yesterday was at times a delight to watch. Remember that at the beginning of October Alloa beat Dundee United 1-0. They are no mugs on their artificial pitch. Our cup game down there will be extremely challenging. Sooner or later we will be able to say 'I was there' to see Jordan score a hat trick. He scored two yesterday but both were offside so given his record against Ayr, here's hoping!! Robbo was very vocal yesterday so here's hoping he's feeling great after being bed ridden a few weeks back and really gets the team to peak next week.
  23. After his award this past week by the UHI, Graeme Shinnie scored a stunning 92 minute winner for Derby County with his RIGHT foot. Pleased for him after a difficult start at the club.
  24. Extremely poor performance today despite considerable effort to rectify the loss of the early goal. Carl surprised everyone with his finish including himself. In days gone by he has scored a few for us but that was his finest. If there is one lesson we should have learned again today - do not underestimate the diddy teams. After last weeks cup result the team probably thought they had an easyish game especially with Flannigan suspended. Hopefully lesson learned. We do not want to go up the table and then be unable to sustain it. We actually made progress today. If the team do not get over confident next week after two previous positive results against Morton this season then hard work and a good result will keep us up with Ayr and United and ahead of Dundee.
