Hope it's not scenario 2 for the travelling support. Worst one I have seen was aberdeen v hearts , long ago and nothing to play for. The work organised a north of Scotland 5 a side tournament in Aberdeen. We, inverness, put in 1 team but aberdeen diluted their team of current highland league players and entered 5 teams. The prize was hospitality at Pittodrie. We won with ease. We were met off the train, told we could have 1 pre match drink, cup of tea at HT and one drink after game, and then back to train. After the first drink one of the boys went up to buy a round, to be told by the bar man that the hospitality was all day to 18.30. Well that started it.... I wasn't drinking as was the goalie. So 6 guys remained in the bar while we 2 watched the game. One even ventured up to our box with 5 mins to go to ask what the score was. At the final whistle I went to bar to see our guys p1ssed as farts arm wrestling at the table. At 17.15 the shutters went down it was getting so rowdy. We heard on the Monday that the guy who met us at the train station was up in front of the bosses as it was the biggest hospitality bar bill ever the company had to pay. Ps.... I scored 20 odd goals and got player of the tournament trophy. Only saying. The train on the way home was worse, after 1 of our guys karate chopped the ariel off the taxi he was in. Great days though.

He blessed me with his presence last week at half time when he came over and we had an intelligent conversation on the 1st half v arbroath. Must admit I was wondering why he shaved off the beard. Looks like you nailed it bc.

Taking the advice from tm4tj and going to "relax" today giving the dead rubber at montrose a miss. In St andrews watching the granddaughters tennis tournament, then down to the old course to watch the " golfers" come up the 18th. It's windy and chilly, the strong wind from the north. Away support get wrapped up and enjoy the last game.

Think I might have an idea, I have another grandkid in the ICT setup. That's why I said " not saying ict is bad" I have spent the last couple of years taking him/watching him at the festivals in alness on a Wednesday night freezing my nuts off in the winter. And at Charleston pitches at the weekend when games are on. Easiest time for me is when I have 2 at alness at the same time 1 ict , 1 rc. Maybe I am a bit biased as the ratio is 3:1 rc. I think I heard that next season they are scrapping the under 18's league and making it u19's and a team can play 3 first teams players in games. That's going to reduce game time for some youngsters. PS... I also have a granddaughter who plays in the ict set up and I have been to her training on a Sunday, to see what the coaches are doing so I can replicate in the garden to help her. And also watching her recently at her festivals at Milburn. Who said retirement was a walk in the park. And don't get me started on my tennis playing granddaughter, the travelling to her tournaments are mega. Oops.. forgot about the rugby and basketball grandkids I watch also. That's me done, off to my scratcher I have golf early in morning. Sport, what would I do without it

The county setup is superb. Not saying ict is bad. I have 3 grandkids in their academy. U14, u11 and u10. The coaching is every Tuesday and Thursday. Winter inside the HFA. Mostly every 2nd wednesday there is a festival in Alness v ict, muir of ord, Tain, Dingwall soccer 7 etc, even under the lights in winter. when they get to u11 they play home and away against teams like, st Johnstone, Livingston ( main pitch and they open one of their food stalls for bacon rolls for the adults) partick thistle, Dunfermline, Dundee, Ayr Utd, morton, kilmarnock. I have watched them against the elite teams, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, that was an eye opener. Few weeks back I travelled to Dundee performance centre to watch u11 grandson v Dundee, what a facility that is. Wee fellow hurt his shoulder in a tackle and there was an on-site physio who checked him over before we headed home. county have boys playing from Stornoway, ft William, Thurso, wick. That is some commitment for the parents. I go back to the late 60’s early 70’s when all that was on the go was street league. I remember to this day Alex and Marion urquhart stopping in a car by the bught and saying we a starting a new league called “ street league”. Get a team together and a name and we will be back next week. Then John Beaton and Jackie Sutherland coaching on the bught shinty pitch on a Friday night, and travelling around Scotland in their cars for BB 5 a side Scottish finals, winners, and to Birmingham for the UK finals only to come 2nd. Or to Elgin to play for Inverness youth league select. A home game at one of the Inverness highland league grounds. Thought they were great days but OH to be an 11 year old in 2025.

This popped up this morning, wish I had seen it when we were discussing the kelty game. He must have read my post.

There was a guy on Saturday up a tower in between the 2 dug outs filming. I have been checking Stenhousemuir but nothing posted yet. Some of the clubs in league 1 are excellent and have the game posted online within a couple of hours.

Sour grapes
-
Don't shoot the messenger. Doesn't look like they are going to experiment again this Saturday.
-
Donnie, let me turn it round. IF Arbroath fielded their usual starting 11 yesterday and scraped a win, then fielded yesterday’s team against us this Saturday and we beat them 5-1 would we be having this discussion, eg about them fielding a “weakened team”. I doubt it.
-
Not really bothered what arbroath did yesterday . They are not the first champions to do it, won't be the last. We should have been safe in 8th or better before yesterday not depending on /hoping another team will do us a favour. I wonder if this was in their thinking to give squad players a game yesterday, next week and the week after........ SPFL Rules: The official rules of the SPFL stipulate that only players who participated in 25% or more of the league matches for the champion club are eligible for a medal.

The plot thickens over the equaliser. Post match interview with the stenny player who they say scored. when asked about it he laughs saying if your giving it to me I’ll take it but I was 20 yards away. Doesn’t offer a name of a team mate that scored it.
-
After I posted this, on the way home, I have spoken to friends and some others at the game and asked what happened at the equaliser, “don’t know, I didn’t see it” was the comeback answer. i have to admit I am not 100% sure I gave an accurate description of what happened due to people in front of me, players in the box, the pace things evolved, old age, seeing things, etc. i may have done a meatloaf, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. Pretty sure the keeper spilled the ball and I did see the ball trickling into left side of the goal. Not sure about keeper kicking ball into gilmour. Sometimes your brain tricks you into thinking you see something and you end up talking p1sh. Well my wife tells me that is what I do. just listened to sk post match again and he says he will have to see it again. anyhoo, I apologise to our keeper, posters on here not at the game for giving a wrong report on the goal, if it turns I was in fact, talking p1sh. in my defence, no one on here who was at the game has posted giving an alternative explanation what happened. grovelling excuse over in advance.

1 point out of 6 last 2 games. 3 goals lost that can be down to keepers. But not all their fault it is our inability to score, create chances and close out a game when in front. Time to question tactics ? When we were far behind we just went gung ho for everything and picked up points. Now we seem to be shot shy, passing the ball to death, slow in possession etc. Last time I said that big dunc was the manager.
-
Exactly what we said walking out
-
Billy scores with a great strike. 30 mins to go and we sit back and let them come at us. An easy save for our keeper, he fumbles it and looked like when he is on the ground kicks ball into gilmour and ball trickles into net. Lots of possession 1st half, no cutting edge. Longstaff on 2nd half made no impact. I said this morning arbroath may make changes, boy did that make a difference. Looks like we are in free fall
-
Said before on another thread, and I hope I am wrong ( get it in myself before someone else says it, Again?) Arbroath will play some squad players till end of season to see what they are keeping/letting go for championship football next year. Even if they play their first team will the players give it a real go after a long season of playing footie and working full time jobs. I think only ict and QOS are full time in league this season, but then again I me be wrong. hope for an Arbroath win though today and they take it easy next week. ps.. something in my head tells me in the relegation battle between QP and us last season they got a couple of unexpected results against teams who should have beaten them but the teams decided to play fringe players as they were safe.

Sitting here having my brekkie waiting to head off to stenny. Posing myself the question, why have we not tried to get the Celtic keeper, aiden rice again, who we got on emergency loan when musa was away on international duty. we have gone for a 17 year old from Celtic instead, same age as our keeper. That would suggest to me that kellacher will be using him as back up to our boy.? but I will give way to your preview tm4tj, excellent as ever, you say he is playing who am I to differ. Ps….. i think we will need more than one rabbit out of the hat to get something out of todays game. edit: had a think, usually a club loaning a player do so if there is an agreement that their player plays. So I will go with you Donnie, the Celtic 17 year old plays.

I apologise, HONESTLY, SORRY, I couldn’t resist it. are the “two different things” … apples and oranges
-
I wonder who said the above. Man Utd 2-4 down in the second half of extra time tonight. They score 3 goals in the last 6 minutes to win 5-4 by putting centre half harry McGuire up top and he scores the winner. well well. Always worth a go, nothing to lose as it was for us on Saturday. SK I am always available if you need to talk tactics.
-
caley D, I am not really interested, I will leave that to all the Statto’s on here, remember him from the fantasy football league show with frank skinner and David baddiel. It’s apples and oranges, and makes no difference what manager is the greatest especially when the team may be in free fall. Must be a slow news day when others are wasting their valuable time getting involved in a spat between me and my new good mate, stfu . got my ticket for stenny, season ticket for Arbroath and I am taking my granddaughter to St Andrews for a tennis tournament in a fortnight when after I drop her off on the Saturday morning I will make my way to Dundee and onward with a mate to Montrose for the final game of the season. ( don’t worry my wife is with us and will pick her up when day one of the tournament is over.) spoiler alert, yes I have a mate.
-
Ok, you hooked me one more time and I bite. Kellacher 23 games in league 1. adding 13 CHAMPIONSHIP games to Ferguson to give him 23, well, yet again, comparing apples and oranges. Too boring now. End of dialogue, from me. have a nice day.
-
What a load of tosh. where did I say the facts don’t show sk doing well. Apples and oranges I said. If you are going to compare both managers you can’t do it 10 games against 23 games. cant deny sk has done well is me talking, I don’t speak for other “people”. i think you and I will have to agree to disagree. In future I won’t respond to any of your posts so I can’t say anything that is uncalled for. if I have caused you any distress or hurt I Apologise. ps…. You forgot the .com after mr confused.
