  1. FFS totally gutted. thought we were lucky to go in at half time 1 up. Got lucky again when we got the second, goalkeeper misjudged the cross and savage easily headed in to go 2 up. said to myself hope Dunc doesn’t do his norm when we are ahead and go into survival mode. Can hear him now in his post match comfy interview say they came at us second half. Truth is we stopped doing what we had been doing and invited them to come at us. So they did. best form of defence is attack, we blew it today. highlight of first half was a pass back to Ridgers, I think he hit his clearance into their player and ball spun into air on our bye line. Ridgers is now facing the north stand and attempts a hoof of the ball over the stand. Total fresh air kick resulting in him then heading the ball out for a corner. You couldn’t make it up. anderson red card was straight out of the ref pocket, no second to think. Anderson first touch for a pro footballer was so poor today, the ball rising into the air as he tried to control it many times. That was what happened for the sending off as he raised his boot into the players head to get the ball. The Partick guy we down clutching his head. Once the red was shown he miraculously recovered and didn’t require hospital treatment. I was firmly seated on the fence re Dunc the manager, starting to slide off a bit now after today.
  2. Was at the Scottish cup game a few weeks ago in Dingwall when they trounced county 3-0. very strong centre backs with both full backs getting up the park with ease. like others we have played this year they have a Connolly, Easton, Middleton, Thomas type winger in Fitzpatrick who roasted county’s Randall at right back that day. hope I am wrong but can’t see us with our home form taking anything from tomorrow. interesting to see how our young centre backs handle the experienced Graham.
  3. Quoting Maggie when British troops landed on south georgia rejoice on that news and let’s congratulate our board members. ps Derek Adams has just resigned from the managers job at county
  4. Last week at raith, Ridgers used the long ball quite a lot aiming for Samuel. Worked well due to his strength bossing the defenders. Dunc said in interview he was unplayable. not sure about that tactic for today as forecast from 15.00 is 18 to 20 mph winds gusting to 40 mph (XC weather ) Hoping for a repeat performance from the Welsh haaland. Last week with his back to the defender he was like a one man Irish scrum, taking the ball in or back peddling to cause defender to play poor defensive headers. gone are the days when we pumped a high ball up to billy which resulted in a easy header for the defender. ( not Billy’s fault )
  5. I asked previously for a midfielder who can break through the lines, pacy, strong etc. At 6 ft tall as well he will do for me. From everton He's strong, quick and very brave and does a lot of work off the ball. He doesn't give defenders time on the ball. He's very versatile, has plenty of pace and was always a great listener who took things on board very well,"
  6. Lizi, I don’t think lack of atmosphere is owned by ICT. the away games I have been at this season our guys( not me, home and away I just sit there and watch the game, cheer a goal) sing “ what a shi1ey home support. I didn’t detect any atmosphere from the home support yesterday, maybe I was too engrossed watching us come from 1 down to 3-1 in 9 mins. Our home games away guys do similar, “ what a shi1tey home support to us. took my Dingwall grandkids to Tynecastle few weeks ago. Told them one of the best grounds in Scotland for atmosphere. Apart from the gudgies behind us singing from start to finish, as our guys did yesterday, didn’t hear a sound from the home support the whole first half, until they booed hearts of at half time. When county went 2 up hearts fans become more vocal, but didn’t sound like support to me. my brother in law, living in Edinburgh area goes to all our away games, home games for him. His fav ground, tynecastle,(AH the glory days) but not that day he said. Can’t see what club or anyone else can do to make people change their nature, not possible. I didn’t sing yesterday, nor anyone around me, did you belt out a few songs yerself.
  7. Their 1st goal was poor defending from a corner. Devine got bullied by the scorer who towered over him to head down and up to roof of net. Devine started on ridgers for not coming the couple yards of his line to catch. Truth be told devine won very few headers today. Waiting for ball rather than attacking it plus being out jumped regularly. Samuel didn't give their back four a seconds rest, he was awesome. Dunc has done well so far in this window. We can now bring on subs who don't weaken the team. Oh and I thought kerr had an excellent game, a proper right back.
  8. Northern echo newspaper announce three have left Newcastle. Number 1 we have. Number 3 is interesting, big duncs son Remi Savage has left permanently, Dylan Stephenson has headed out on loan and Cameron Ferguson has severed his ties with the Magpies by mutual consent.
  9. I like the capitals in “our final signing of TODAY”suggesting, maybe, more to come in the days ahead ???
  10. I asked for a “ proper “ right back further up this page. Got one now. thank goodness we have a CEO with links to Dundee FC.
  11. Duke, you must have given a few games “ A MISS “ during yogi Hughes tenure. I remember one game, against Dundee I think, it took 70 mins before we took a shot at goal. chuckle brothers football, TO YOU TO ME etc etc etc…………………….. Grampian TV had a piece prior to a Dundee utd game. John rankin, Utd at time, said we can’t afford to give ball away to ICT “ you will never get it back “ wow, some of those games were SOOOOO boring.
  12. I have grandkids in Inverness and Dingwall. watch ict home games with 5 kids, we are all season ticket holders and when ict away I go with my 2 grandkids in Dingwall to watch premiership county. I know, but I have to spread grandad time. samuel has been at Dingwall since august 21 and I think he was injured for a long while but last season featured again in the squad. More a last 5 to 10 minutes take on player at county. He is a battering ram when on and gets about the centre half’s in a way Jordan white and Simon Murray can’t. Very strong boy. may do well for us, I hope he does. One thing guaranteed is you got 100% effort when he did come on, and the centre backs knew they had been in a game, at least for the last 10 minutes or so. I am not knocking the lad, give him a chance, just me saying what I have seen the last couple of years.
  13. Start full strength team. If lucky to get a few goals then give others some game time. if we do as Cowdenbeath game and lose this time imagine the wrath on here if the next round draw is kind to Broomhill and they draw any of …… rangers, Celtic, hearts, Aberdeen AWAY. what a financial gain that would be to any cash strapped team, especially us.
  14. After next weeks cup games it is catch up in the league. if QP beat Dunfermline we go down to 8th. Then if Ayr beat Arbroath we go down to 9th. from your list I see Goalie a back 3. Decent 4 midfielders playing sideways/ backwards football 2 forwards. Who contribute 10 players and none of them will have a pop at goal Were doomed unless Dunc uses his English contacts to get a player like Easton at raith ( a Jonny hayes hopefully) a midfielder that can break at pace through the lines someone to help billy. Oh and a proper right back, we haven’t had one since David raven. ( Rooney was a galloper going forward but not great defensively) yet again on Friday, we lose a goal from our right side.
  15. The 3 goals in last nights queens v Dunfermline game were guys having a pop at goal. 2nd QP goal was a “ shoooot” moment that took a wicked deflection over the goalkeeper. Duncs pre match interviews saying he has GOOD players and a GOOD team. Strange thing to say given recent results and our league position.
  16. Donnie excellent preview as usual. as I am bored waiting to go to the game thought I would pick your link to ticket prices. Get Tickets in advance from https://t.co/iOIFJ8EV0e to buy in advance to save money! pic.twitter.com/OGwkA8cnbb I did this the first couple of games of the season as my granddaughter wasn’t sure if she would like football. She does and got her a half season ticket this morning. have a look, everyone mentioned gets £2 discount if they buy 3hours in advance. After the first couple of games they removed the discount from under 16’s. I questioned it at the shop at the time and was passed on to the head of department. we had a debate, and I asked why the club was discriminating against under 16’s. After fudging a couple of minutes I got the reason for this. I emailed the SLO the next day and to be fair to him he replied to me within 3days but his explanation was same as I got in the shop. end of rant.
  17. Away days for me are always on the east side of the country as I have family there. yesterday decided to travel on the supporters bus for the first time for a league game. great experience. as a “stranger”, found the people very friendly, the craic was good, and the quiz on the way home was great entertainment. well done to all who run this smooth operation. when buying my tickets on queens park website there was an invite to away fans to use their city ground bar. The first 50 free pies drew me in. Pint + iron bru + pie( I got number 48 as there were 3 pies remaining) £5.60. Great value considering a pie at Hampden was £4.50. oh and bye the way watching a very good performance from the team, and seeing Wotherspoon goal, build up and execution, was the icing on the cake. In real time it was a thing of beauty.
  18. Maybe it was the instructions took a long time to get from Duncs lofty perch after he was red carded
  19. Came across this on the bbc sport website. ” The lone away fan who led his club to glory” He became president and led his club to glory at age 27. When I was just a fan I would always be criticising from the stands," he says. "Why didn't the team grow? Why were we such a small club? "But now I could see the difficulties of being a little football club, trying to survive - you're dealing with a lack of money, lack of resources, lack of sponsors, just a general lack of support." Parallels between Santa Cruz and ICT? Maybe, just, it’s not all Gardiner and Robbo’s fault.
  20. Just back from stadium buying an extra ticket. from the bridge saw a groundsman working on water on a home end corner of the 100% playable pitch. girl in office said groundsman working on pitch all morning and there are no worries about the game on way home rain now easing, only the occasional swipe of wiper blades game on (hopefully)
  21. waiting to head to stadium for the bus….. Thanks very much to the ICT supporters travel club who placed me on a waiting list for 4 seats on a bus to the final last sunday. Couldn’t promise me seats on any bus or on same bus but would try. Got me the seats on bus 4 . Magic. then the RC under 12 match against Patrick was cancelled to allow the boys from both teams to attend the Sunday play off final in Dingwall. I got a call while in magaluf from my daughter that she and her 2 boys now wanted to go to hampden. back on to travel club to get 6 seats hopefully on same bus. All sorted for me again. Magic called my daughter to collect the 4 tickets I had bought previously and take them to the stadium to see if they can be returned and 6 new tickets purchased so we could all sit together. The person there said a bit of hassle for her as she would have to locate the stubs for the returning tickets, but she would have a go. Miraculously she found them in the first envelope she looked into. 6 new tickets bought. Magic. well done travel club and football club to get an old guy , his daughter and 4 grandchildren to the Scottish cup final. now only if the game goes as smoothly ………………
  22. Wondering if by chance there is any spare seats on one of your buses. I would be looking for 4. am booked into hotel for the Saturday night so I can watch my grandson play for RC under 12 team at Patrick thistle on the Sunday. That game has been changed to Dingwall due to the play off 2nd leg same day.
  23. Good to hear that Donnie, although I knew all the colleagues that knew him over the years would have been there. disappointed I didn’t make it myself, don’t head home from Tenerife till tomorrow. had a few minutes reminiscing tonight with a beer in hand when I saw your post.
  24. Haven’t been on here for a couple of years but had to login. Sad news. Called out on numerous occasions over the years for higher order transmission faults. Two of us To go to the affected telephone exchanges, usually in the middle of the night. We would prove exchange equipment at each site by checking launch and receive light levels. Usually proved to a cable fault. Lightning, digging it up with jcb or one night around strontian some thieves were nicking spans of overhead copper cables. 2 cables present, 50 50 chance. They cut the fibre cable, no value but isolating a community. Knew then which one was worth cash. Would report our finding to the control to be told the precision tester is on his way. Wasn’t just round Inverness, all over the highlands. eric would arrive , do his magic on the fibre and get a distance measurement to the fault for openreach jointers to repair or replace the cable. Very likeable colleague. Rip Eric.
