  1. I was thinking that yesterday, our ability to change things. Kellachers substitutions were like for like, playing the same way. how many times over the years have you seen on TV watching Scottish, English football a team a goal down with a few minutes left on the clock put a centre half up front to be a nuisance and cause a bit of havoc in a comfortable defence. billy looked out of sorts yesterday trotting around the middle of the park. An injury, illness, bug or even the trotts themselves? We have a very young bench and few/none who can influence a game. with a few minutes remaining could we have taken billy off and replaced him with the loan boy Ewan from RC, a centre half. Decide who is tallest between him, Devine and savage and put that person up front and put crosses into the box for him to try and create a bit of havoc. Might have got a lucky break and scored. we definitely did not look like scoring the way we were playing. Worth a go?
  2. Apples and oranges. We shouldn’t care who is the better/worse manager, we need to focus on the now. Or AS will get his wish early when he said we hope to be out of this league by next year. The way we played yesterday we might be out of it this year. i have quoted Lee Trevino before, “ I never think about yesterday, can’t do anything about it”. If you are going to persist with comparisons you have to compare like for like. ferguson 10 games Kellacher 23, if my counting is correct, more than twice the games of Ferguson. can’t deny kellacher has done well but as said above we should have made our season safe over the last few games. watching yesterday was like watching a Ferguson team at its worst. Slow in possession letting kelty get 10 behind the ball. Playing sideways and backwards trying to break them down and then getting hit on the fast break, twice. I get admin, no cash, can’t sign players over 20 but yesterday was the same team that put 3 past cove last week.
  3. I didn't mean to focus on him, said I was sorry for him. Wouldn't dream of being critical of the young guy, he came on and did his best. I was right behind him at the first goal and relayed his position. Guys behind me, to the right of me and in front of me were shouting " what are you fecking doing " I kept stum. By the way nothing Savage could do for the 2nd, the guy got goal side of him as last man, and had just been booked minutes earlier. Couldn't catch him, couldn't take one for the team.
  4. Arbroath 4 stenhousemuir 0. Smokies champions, 11 pts clear of Cove, 3 games remain. Do they do what we did at Ayr a few seasons ago when we went back to premier in style putting 6 past them after we were confirmed champs mid week. Or do they put in a weakened team to see how the squad players perform, giving the 1st team a break after WORKING and partying all week. Important, as they are away to Annan next week while we are at stenhousemuir. Interesting. Well done to them the best team in league 1 this season.
  5. Crab football, side to side. Had a shot that hit post on half time. Apart from that never tested their keeper. No focal point up front as billy was playing defensive mid field most of the game. Felt sorry for the young keeper. As the guy ran to goal for their first, the keeper set himself up outside the left post, giving Kelty 7 eighths of the goal to slot home with ease. Think the post match interview tonight will be ... disappointed, frustrated, really frustrated, really disappointed. That was our worst display this year. Big duncs football was far better than that today. A few chaps from stornoway behind me, possibly to see bray, saying what a fecking waste of money watching this rubbish. Ah well onwards to next week, was planning an away day, don't think I will bother now.
  6. Disclaimer, i dont pretend to say i have a clue what is going on here. Don't even know what heads of terms means. This meeting took place 27th March. AS put his bid for the club in on 28th. ALL at the meeting on 27th Agreed to the text below. I believe the chair of the supporters trust had a seat at this meeting?. So to me he has voted on behalf of the supporters trust. SO WHY does the ST need a EGM........... The Joint Administrators of Inverness Caledonian Thistle can confirm that a positive meeting with loan creditors, major shareholders and a former Director of the club has taken place, resulting in heads of terms being agreed to facilitate the writing off of loans and the return of shares to the club. This is conditional upon achieving a successful exit from Administration and the club continuing to operate.
  7. Here’s hoping there is no dead cat bounce on Saturday then.
  8. 3 weeks ago, I was thinking a win over Annan and Alloa, both home games, would have put us very close to a play off place ( turned out it would have been 2points). Wondering if it would have been Dunfermline, Hamilton or QP in the final. now I am convinced it will be play off at other end and looking at all the E’s. East fife, Edinburgh city and Elgin. How do I fancy our chances against one of them
  9. Seen Nicholson a few times when I used to go and watch the u18 games. Was impressed. Is that 2 years now he has been recovering?
  10. Big musa at fault for the equaliser. Their 3rd goal well crafted and well taken. was planning cove next week instead of RC v a resurgent dons. Heading to Dundee instead to watch my grandson play for RC u11
  11. I think we would all be the same if the club owed us cash. £3,145 - Adam Brooks
  12. Arbroath are romping to the title. Hopefully their game v Annan on 19th April they need a win to be champions. that would give us hopefully a free hit against them the next week and 3 points as they will be free wheeling to the end of the season.
  13. Shouldn’t have stopped at Kingussie to see if billy could break Barry Wilson’s record.
  14. 4 regular starters off. Giving this one up, saving legs for next game. Probably needs brannan off also, already booked and still giving fouls away. Time to calm down. regroup for next week.
  15. There is now.
  16. Just had a question from a mate asking what the peripheral lease is. I guessed the car parks when replying. He has asked me now what is the triangle Savage mentioned. Run out of guesses, any clues
  17. Hope it’s not Custers last stand and Crazy Horse is waiting to charge. ( you shouldn’t have mentioned circling wagons , injun’s, arrows etc)
  18. Surprised by several fans in the north stand booing at final whistle.
  19. Bored after watching the Greece game. Here is Alloa TV coverage of yesterday’s game. Have to say that this is the best/ clearest camera work by the away team I have seen this year. Commentator pretty unbiased also.
  20. From transfer market website………looks like he scores when he wants ….. most of the time. I thought he missed more last couple of seasons. Stats eh. this season and last he is just over 50% scored or just under 50% missed. OOPS what I didn’t check was who billy was playing for. He was doing the Scottish club rounds, us, county, Dundee united etc. when he came back to Scottish football after his transfer from us if I remember correctly. Season. No. Of pen. Scored. Missed 24-25. 2 1 1 23-24. 6. 4 2 22-23. 5 5 0 21-22. 1. 1. 0 20-21. 0. 0. 0 19-20. 2. 0. 2 18-19. 4. 4. 0 17-18. 0. 0. 0 16-17. 2. 1. 1 15-16. 5. 5. 0 14-15 13-14. 1. 0. 1 12-13. 7 5. 2 no pens or not with us 2007-2011
  21. Don’t need to. On way home from game yesterday I was wondering what the conversion rate for billy on penalties was. I use the same site as you. i would never in a hundred years have thought about comparing billy with messi though. Edit: end of replies, moving on to a game at 17:00 tonight.
  22. Obviously not wanting to open old wounds. But last season in the championship billy missed a pen at home to Dunfermline in a midweek game that ended 0-0. He scores, we win and we would have finished 7th a solitary point behind 5th and 6th. STATS EH. no criticism from me, he is our all time top scorer. he is obviously scoring in training or the manager would be doing his job and allocating pens to someone else. correct me if I am wrong, think I was once, I can only remember messi playing at the very top of world football against the best goalkeepers in the world not Scottish league one standard. Stats eh. apples and oranges.
  23. Young lad will only be as good as the players in front of him. At 6ft. 1 not the biggest of modern day keepers. Can’t see him doing a musa with one handed catches. Wouldn’t be a possible issue playing him today if we had won the Annan game last week. Here’s hoping for a goal feast in our favour. AIDAN RICE Despite turning 18 in the summer of 2024, the shot-stopper has already picked up some extremely valuable experience as a young goalkeeper. Rice spent some time working amongst Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad as part of Stevie Woods’ goalkeeping group. At the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, the goalkeeper became a mainstay for the young Celts. Saving penalties in back-to-back UEFA Youth League matches, the teenager played a big role in qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.
