  1. Hey, ibm, you see her every home game she has only turned 10 playing in the under 12’s. 😀 The girls did very well, won a few, drew a couple and scored some cracking goals. End of each game she came over to me at the fence and said ok what did I do wrong. I have to start focusing on the good points, but that’s what you get from a glass half empty pessimist. She lost her water bottle yesterday so we walked along the perimeter fence, me on the outside, her on the pitch side. I found a credit card and said the name on it. She said that’s one of my coaches. I am just waiting for Amazon prime guy to turn up with all the gear I ordered.
  2. Not there yesterday, but looks like the comments from those that were are confirmed by this Peterhead player.
  3. Same for me Paragraph 1 and 3. I didn’t think about the hassle it would cause travelling supporters, supporters bus etc. Me being selfish with a fish supper and a few beers watching an away game in comfort, at home. As you say a bonus Not giving up completely, I wonder if we were selected for TV, we played well, scored a few goals, won the game, we could put a few extra bums on seats, more custom in bar 94 and serveries future home games. People who attended before but have forgotten how good going to the footie can be? But alas, I sense another copy and paste. 🙃 End of me flogging a dead horse.
  4. Yes I remember it well CD. Did you copy and paste this reply.🙂 Forget home games please, I am not really interested in them personally as a season ticket holder. So that leaves 18 away games for us to be featured in at least one. It would be nice now and again to watch an away ict game live in the comfort of my home (winter), as the other 9 league 1 teams did last season. I think most of our non travelling fans would appreciate that. Surely we will not be ignored as we were last season. The bbc won’t be getting these games for free, ( too lazy to google it). Every little helps.
  5. BBC can show up to 12 live league 1 games a season. ICT were the only team in league 1 last season NOT to be featured in a live game Home or Away. First up this season is an absolute cracker to draw in the viewers on a Saturday night. Game 1. Hamilton v cove rangers 17.30. 30/8/25 Personally I would want an away game to feature us, but others, long distance fans, I imagine would want home or away. Seemingly we are favourites to win the league this year. Last years favourites Arbroath featured 5 times.
  6. I am wrong….. again. Right in front of me too. Excellent finish from wotherspoon and kick out from Munro to start the attack.
  7. Sitting having a pint I seen a guy come into the bar with an ict top with number 5 and the words “ The Mantis “ on the back. Was that you mr mantis, I was going to go over where you were sitting by the door to introduce myself. But chickened out and walked passed you and your 2 mates and headed to the ground. Ps…. I too want to see spoony’s goal again. I thought he was going to put his laces through the ball, fell backwards and his miss hit shot looped up over the very tall goalkeeper. They all count of course.
  8. Just got home in time before the police closed the kessock bridge. Decent game in the kelty sun. Was directly behind Billy’s goal, I said to my mate as he shaped his body to shoot, that’s going in. Back 4 were rarely troubled and both full backs had good games. Had some shots at goal, some would have been in row Z if there were seats, and one went over the hedge behind the goal second half. We will face sterner tests but you can only beat what’s in front of you. Went for a pint before the game, think it was called king bar, and I was surprised, maybe its a common thing now, but sitting in the corner of the bar was Charlie Christie, grassa Bennett , ex clach chairman Chisholm, and 5 minutes later the main man Alan savage came in. I would have thought the kelty boardroom was the place for them to be. Ah well, new regime, mixing with the fans. Alonge, it’s a no thanks from me. Sole looks pacy, but was trying little tricks to beat his man when using his pace would have been a better option. Missing first home game next week v an inform Peterhead ?? as heading to Grangemouth to watch my 10 year old grandaughter play for ict girls.
  9. Just heard we have signed 3 players today. Bavidge, a defender from Watford and some other guy was the news?
  10. With the golf season in full flow, tomorrow will be my first game of the new season. Was told by a couple of mates that we were poor defensively last week and 5-1 doesn’t suggest we’re were much better at the other end either. Will have a punt after the kelty game but really should wait to vote until we sign our 2 marquee players before September 1st and transfer window is closed.
  11. I have signed up and predicted my scores. If I change my mind between now and Saturday, can I predict again to change my scores.
  12. Scroll to the end of the match highlights, ref blows whistle for end of game, ball appears at savage, he punts it up the park, closely missing the ref and he produces the red card and points to the tunnel.
  13. Didn’t know savage got a red card at final whistle.
  14. Quite an entertaining game for the neutral. Worth a look to see what we’re up against.
  15. Ok, I will set the ball rolling again……. think kellacher needs some lubricant, lots of squeaking as he sways side to side.
  16. Team v PT. starting eleven this season 1 ROSS MUNRO 2 ROSS MILLEN 3 MATTHEW STRACHAN 4 ROBBIE THOMPSON 5 REMI SAVAGE 6 DANNY DEVINE 7 PAUL ALLAN 8 JOE CHALMERS 9 TRIALIST OJO 10 DAVID WOTHERSPOON 11 TRIALIST edit: Mackinnon for Thompson.
  17. As The Mantis is probably having a well earned lie in………… 53’Goal Thistle! Ben Stanway Thistle 3 - Inverness CT 2 Three goals in three minutes from Thistle. Crawford finds Stanway to his right and Stanway fires high into the top right hand corner of the net. 51’Goal Thistle! Logan Chalmers Thistle 2 - Inverness CT 2 And all of a sudden the game is tied. Stanway looks to be fouled but there is no free kick, the ball breaks to Chalmers at the edge of the box and he finds the back of the net with an excellent finish high to the keeper's right. 50’Goal Thistle! Ben Stanway Thistle 1 - Inverness CT 2 Thistle get an early goal back as Stanway knocks home from close range. Goal Inverness CT! Trialist Thistle 0 - Inverness CT 2 Another Thistle error and it's another Inverness goal. The Trialist number 9 is again the player to profit from that error and he takes the ball round Budinauckas before rolling the ball into the net. 08’Goal Inverness CT! Trialist Thistle 0 - Inverness CT 1 Inverness open the scoring. Thistle lose possession in midfield and Wotherspoon advances before slipping a pass through to Trialist who finds the net with a neat finish.
  18. And here's one of the neild brothers.if I remember correctly, back row... John rae, Freddie neild, not sure, some duffer, not sure, Dennis Bell, frankie watt. Front...Bobby noble, Davy Johnston, Bryan Munro, rod mackie , not sure, billy mackintosh, gordy fyffe.
  19. Stretching it a bit far, but half a century ago Bobby and Freddie Neild for caley and Brian and Alistair Black for the other lot.
  20. Caley Thistle’s international trialist makes case with friendly double – while striker with high goal tally also gets a chance Under-19s and four trialists help get Inverness off to a fine start with a 4-1 warm-up win at Strathspey Thistle. by Paul Chalk June 21 2025, 7:20 pm Share0Comment Inverness trialist Carlos Heredia in action against Strathspey Thistle. Image: Sandy McCook/DC Thomson. A Spanish-born flair player – capped 15 times for the Dominican Republic – caught the eye with a brace as a Caley Thistle trialist on Saturday. League One side Inverness, who are weeks away from exiting administration under Alan Savage’s ownership, kicked off their pre-season as their mainly under-19 team were 4-1 winners at Highland League hosts Strathspey Thistle in the baking heat. ICT fielded four unnamed trialists and all were given the full 90 minutes at Seafield Park against the Jags, bossed by former Caley Jags goalkeeper Ryan Esson. We can confirm though that Barcelona-born Carlos Heredia scored a quick-fire double after livewire Ben Gardiner had scored from the spot. After being three goals up at the break, a free-kick from academy graduate Sam Thompson made it four before – ex-ICT star Aaron Doran – who will have a testimonial match for his old club next month – scored Thistle’s consolation. Spaniard was star of the afternoon Another player on trial for ICT was forward Charlie Frost, who scored 34 goals across all competitions with North West Counties side Nelson last term. He was a danger and, with a little luck, could have got on the scoresheet too. The other trialists played at left-back and right-back. Heredia, 26, has scored twice for the Dominican Republic and is trying to win a deal, backed by his experience at Miedz Legnica in Poland, Wolverhampton Wanderers and MK Dons and Dominican professional team Cibao FC. Inverness trialist Charlie Frost rises for a header. Image: Sandy McCook/DC Thomson. The attacking midfielder, who was also a threat on the left wing, kicked off his career in 2016 at CE Europa, a Catalan side in Barcelona, before moved to England to join MK Dons before Wolves. His last period of note was with Miedz Legnica and he impressed in Grantown with smart footwork, and eye for a pass and two goals, especially the second one which was a rifled shot high into the net. Under-19s urged to rise to challenge Head of youth and first-team coach Ross Jack took the team along with Gordon Nicolson and his message to the existing crop of under-19s is to rise to the challenge from any potential – or new – arrivals. He said: “It’s an exciting time for the younger lads, for all the players. “I’ve said to them rather than fear for their places in the team, just go and prove how good they are. “They should say ‘the club are taking bodies in, well I’ll show I’m better than them’. It’s all about believing in themselves, because we do. Strathspey Thistle’s Jordan Laidlaw (No 4) heads the ball into the ICT box. Image: Sandy McCook/DC Thomson. “Fitness is going to be key this season for the first-team and the 19s. It’s massive. “The fitter you are, the better you play. “The trialists who came in acquitted themselves very well. They all got good game-time and I’m delighted with them all.” High tempo impress coach Jack Inverness will split their squads twice this week, with friendlies at Rothes and Nairn County on Wednesday, then on Saturday away to Clachnacuddin and Forres Mechanics. And Jack says the high energy shown by the team is an ideal starting point for the week ahead. He added: “You could see the fitness levels are very good. “Some of the football we played at times was also very good. “Fair play to Strathspey, I thought they played very well in the second half and put us on the back foot a bit. “We’ve come through unscathed and scored four goals. We were disappointed to concede one, but both teams had more opportunities to score. It was a great exercise. “The high tempo we showed here is how we aim to go on. We were pushing forward and putting pressure on. Sam Reid, of Caley Thistle, on the ball against Strathspey’s Filip Franczak. Image: Sandy McCook/DC Thomson. “We have a busy programme of games this week, but that’s the way it has to be. “The first-team boys have taken the younger lads on, and made them welcome. They know they are pushing for places, but they are encouraging them. It will make them better. “Everyone is pushing one another one and looking out for one another.”
