  1. There were Highlanders, accents of more locality later. Think the main input was the guy that started the Really Garlicy company in Nairn, even if his accent is southern sounding, think he is from here. Who do you think showed up best out of all 6 on the panel. Thought it might have been Eden Court, in one of the cinema rooms
  2. What you really mean is if it was Labour, Lib Dems or the Torries ( like they will ever get into power in Scotland ) it would never have been announced. SNP are doing more for the whole of Scotland, remember Trams were Labours folly
  3. We all know there is still issues in this country, but we are probably twenty to thirty years ahead of the old eastern block in dealing with this. John Terry messed that up a bit, and then the FA doubled it by dropping Rio Ferdinand and really put their foot in it when Cahills replacement was announced.
  4. safe for two seasons, Cowdenbeath get promoted. And now I know where the Dons fans get hope every season, as they always start top. But if Rangers NewCO comes back in as Aarangers were back in bottom 6
  5. Sad indeed, I drive up to 75,000 miles a year on Highland roads, seen a huge number of accidents over the last 25 years, been hit head on 4 times, and all by tourists on the wrong side. A9, A96 and A82 all need improved. A9 AND A96 should be dual all the way. How many lives does it take before we get a Dual Carriageway, if this was south of Englandshire it would have been done 30 years ago
  6. On hearing the disgraceful racist abuse the Dutch black players received at their open training session, UEFA say they will book any player who reacts by walking off, and the refs will have the power to stop the games. In my eyes that will mean the idiot abusers win, anyone got any ideas on how they shout deal with this, given both the Polish and Ukranian police usually turn a blind eye to the abuse
  7. It just shows how things have changed. Aberdeen, arguably Scotlands 4th or 5th biggest club, lost two players yesterday. Both are going to bigger wages in the English 4th tier of football at Bradford City and Rotherham United. Puts things into perspective when we are looking at this division, the conference and youth players to come here. Hate to say it but if Rangers were to be sent to Peterhead and Elgin etc it would be even worse than what we are at now. Suprised we havent tried some of the young players from the like s of Falkirk, Dundee, etc
  8. Yeah, but second one will be new year, so first spl highland derby in either Inverness or the caravan park
  9. leaving the date open for the new spl highland derby, as sky are demanding a 3 hour build up to the ultimate revenge/grudge match
  10. Between Spain, Germany and Netherlands for me, but my dark horses are Denmark, if they get out of the toughest group possible
  11. Wouldnt it be ironic if he went to The Buddies
  12. doubters
  13. steaming
  14. Alan Thompson has left the building. Sacked. We are not all Neil Lennon
  15. ahh but st johnstone may well be attracting more well known or percieved better players, but to recruit these players the wage demands will be far greater than ours, and unless they have a pot of gold, they will record losses, as £240k wont cover the difference in cost of attracting several of the players they did last season.
  16. Yet if Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Juventus or Barca were to ask us to play at home in a glamour friendly on that date any other spl club will be turning it down. This has all come about as the start of the season has been moved forward a few weeks, meaning the English and European clubs are looking for friendlies when our spl season has started. So all clubs are to miss out on decent opposition because of them trying to advance our game and trying to cater for potential bad winters. Dont see why the SPL dont just say to all clubs, season kicks off on xx/xx/xx but 3 weeks in you can all arrange a friendly to play at home against opposition of you choice. Would be easier than this "those teams playing at home" as if they cancel the home games the away teams are without a game too, arent they.
  17. With all the talk of where are our youth players getting into the first team, this last two seasons the under 19s have been twelfth out of twelve in the spl u19s league. When most of the spl clubs are only offering a few of their youth players contracts, why would we be offering more than the others, when our home breed were not as good as others as a team. Im sure the likes of Sheffield Utd and Wednesday are releasing better 19 year olds than we did, and thats the english 3rd tier. ICT management will be doing what is best for the ICT team, never seen a manager who does everything to fail
  18. Grindavik got a point away from home against mid table Selfoss, scoring two very late goals to get a 3-3 result
  19. Martin Laing and Liam Polworth as subs
  20. Have to say I am a little suprised about Brendan, thought Liverpool would end up going for thr big name, and thought it would be Fabio Capelo, but can see Liverpool improving but it will take two seasons for them to challenge top 4. As for Lambert, he has been a huge success down south. Expected him to go to bigger things, but maybe not Villa, former European champions, but they are a long long way from those days. Could be a wise move by Paul, as keeping Canaries flying above their post will be harder task next season, whereas Villa couldnt get worse. Can see him taking the EPLs second top English scorer with him, and then they will climb up the table. Two seasons, Villa top half, and even bigger clubs come calling
