  1. Torn about this one. On the one hand, there is the attraction of continuity with the thought that at least some of the players would be loyal to Maurice if Butcher tried to lure them to Easter Road. On the other hand, there's no getting away from the fact that Malpas's record when he has been a manager in his own right is quite abysmal. Not sure at all. If Malpas staying persuaded Marcella to stay as well it may be worth the gamble.
  2. This is the match thread. Please keep to the topic rather than making disparaging remarks.
  3. I think we have enough coaches with enough knowledge of the squad to carry on what we are doing. Dunc's and Charlie could take over in interim and give us plenty time to get the right people on board. Don't know if he's been mentioned anywhere else but I wonder if Jim McInally at Peterhead would do a job for us. He's done well with Morton and the Shire and is doing well at Peterhead. Nine or ten years management experience and a good record in the lower leagues. he could be well ready for a step up. Not sure about McInally. Peterhead have the biggest budget in their division but he can't get them above mid table.
  4. Given that he is currently being entertained in the Hibs boardroom at Easter Road, I doubt that very much.
  5. Far from obscurity, we were already an established top tier club with two Scottish Cup semi finals and the scalps of both Old firm clubs under our belts. As for the best few years of the club's history, were you not about during our rise from the Third Division to the SPL ?
  6. Which dugout ?
  7. Thank goodness..
  8. Many reasons why Barry Ferguson shouldn't be considered not least the contempt shown to the national team and the Tartan Army.
  9. Our season will be far from over. Butcher has proved to be a decent manager but our success is down to more than one man.
  10. I appreciate that you are much more often right than wrong and that you are one of the few who called it right during the Barnsley speculation but, unless you think Monday isn't any time soon. I fear you are wide of the mark this time around.

Don't worry - it is a bit like tyres - I have to update my veins every 100 years. Remind me to stay out of your way on the road if you only change your tyres every 100 years.
  12. What's the odds on both teams having new managers before this game ?
  13. There is little doubt they will. Whatever reservations any of us may have, not a single ICT manager started out without the backing of the fans and over the years only Baltacha and Brewster, second time around, lost it.
  14. Jim Calder Iain MacArthur Charlie Christie Iain Stewart Dennis Wyness No explanations required.

Yip..could listen to it again and again..
  16. I don't think managers or coaches have to be registered. It's quite apparent now that Butcher is going to Easter Road. The outstanding question is whether Malpas and Marcella or either one of them will be going as well.
  17. Anyone fancy a virtual game of scissors, paper, stone to pass the time before an announcement is made ?
  18. Far to early in Barry's managerial career to be taking the reins at ICT.
  19. Have it on reliable authority that Butcher, Malpas and Marcella are all going but Fritz is staying to carry on his master's good work. He was taken to the stadium this morning to familiarise himself with his new surroundings. Marcella knew about this canine coup hence his reference to him staying.
  20. So much so that Kingsmills pocketed £250 as a result.
  21. Would be better with Joan Collins.
  22. Don't agree. We have lost good and successful managers before and the club has continued to prosper and progress. If Butcher goes there is no reason why we can't continue to progress assuming we appoint the right successor and the club have a pretty good record in that respect. The best has yet to come.
  23. If Terry is not in the ICT dugout tomorrow that will only mean one thing. He slept in and missed the bus? He will not be in the dugout tomorrow out of narcissistic respect to both teams and both sets of fans. Surely a narcissist only has respect for themselves.
  24. Not stopped ICT managers being successful in the past.
