In The Black
Accounts posted for the financial year to the end of May show that we are back in profit for the first time in seven years. Turnover is up, now in excess of £3,700,000 and costs are down. Well done to all at the TCS for pulling of the difficult juggling act of bringing continuing success on the pitch whilst maintaining financial prudence off it. Just think what we could achieve if an additional thousand or so apathetic Invernessians could be persuaded away from the delights of Eastgate and the Retail Park for a couple of hours once a fortnight.

County game
Great to have local lads in the team but only if they are better or at least as good as the alternatives. Maybe not quite yet.

Club or country?
Scotland winning the World Cup would be the dream. ICT winning the Scottish Cup will, sooner or later, be reality.

Anyone know how the youths got on in the cup yesterday ?

Scott Fox - cheat or professional
Frankly, I have never seen a goalkeeper acting so badly throughout a match in over forty years of watching football. That the referee let it go was surprising, that the player is so lacking in professional self respect is astonishing.

Grant Street Park
Seems to me that one off crowds in Inverness in the region of 12,000 for 'glamour' matches in the decades just before and just after WWII are credible when put in context with the record crowds posted by Scottish League clubs, who presumably kept slightly more accurate records, for the same era. Teams like Cowdenbeath, Raith Rovers, Motherwell, Ayr, Albion Rovers and many others all record crowds in excess of half the population of the communities in which they are based. Why would Inverness, starved of football on the national stage as it was, not record similar crowds on the very rare occasions when such as the Old Firm came to call.

Scottish Cup 2013/14 - 2nd Round Draw
Great to see three Highland League teams progressing yesterday. Would love a competitive visit to a Highland League ground in the fourth round failing which a trip to Borough Briggs.

Poll : Season's expectations
Trouble is that fans of every club left in the competition will feel the same way and with some justification.

Lennon and Juanjo incident revisited
As I was in the car, I somewhat misguidedly tuned into 810 MW again at ten past six this evening and caught a programme almost entirely devoted to the offfield affairs of a team with one Third Division title to their name and the slim prospects of Celtic's goalkeeper gaining international recognition. Have BBC Scotland given up any pretence of interest in anything that goes on in Scottish football outside of Glasgow ?

He would also be the first mayor of Inverness or, indeed, of anywhere within several hundred miles of Inverness for that matter....

Top Of The Pops......BUT!
Even if our current management team were to depart, history suggests that the club are likely to to appoint an able successor. We have had six permanent managers in our history and three of them have led us to outstanding success. Steve Paterson took us up through the divisions to the cusp of the Premier League. John Robertson led us into the SPL and almost to the Scottish Cup final and Terry Butcher has taken us within one game of European qualification and may yet trump that this season. Personally, I believe that Charlie Christie was also a successful appointment and would have joined that list if only he had had faith in his own ability. So, a two thirds success rate in managerial appointments suggests that the future is promising whether Terry stays or not although I concede even more so if he does.

Lennon and Juanjo incident revisited
Tuned into Radio Scotland for the slot usually occupied by Sportsound and caught the Scott Brown show. Listened to the end but there was no indication whether it was a one off or whether it will become a regular Wednesday feature.

Lennon and Juanjo incident revisited
Agree that it was a red card. Remember the card was not for the original tackle but for the sneaky cynical wee kick he had at the player while he was on the ground. It is not relevant that the kick was a light one or that Neymar made the most of it, it was violent conduct and left the referee with little option. For Celtic's captain and most experienced player to be so irresponsible at a time when eleven man Celtic were doing such a decent job in frustrating and containing their illustrious opponents ought to result in his manager being furious not with the officials but with the players but I had an idea how he would react as Lennon, himself, was precisely that sort of player. The bottom line is that Brown, as club captain, let himself down, let his fellow players down and let the fans down by his actions and Lennon has as well by his entirely predictable reaction.

League Cup Quarter Final Draw
Surely, for full time professionals, three games in ten days is not excessive. Personally, I don't see an issue.

merger with C#unty?
I agree and I bet, if they did, they would give Wick and Brora a good run for their money.
