  1. Who on earth would have thought that a goodwill gesture that potentially benefits both clubs could generate such heated debate. If more than the average Hearts support turn up their supporters group benefits and ICT coffers benefit three times as much. Am I missing something ?
  2. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It is a cliche but we must take things one game at a time.
  3. I have a strong interest in the Old Firm. I am strongly interested in them both getting their own way at last and being allowed to play on a 'bigger stage' that way we could have a truly competitive top division where half a dozen or more teams could start the season with realistic title ambitions and where grounds would be largely free of poisonous sectarian bile.
  4. ...and Doran would be beyond outstanding if he had an eye for goal.
  5. I must get my hearing checked. I could have sworn you said that Mark Brown saved a penalty....
  6. Kingsmills replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
But let me get that right - in the third round we will be seeded and will not be drawn against Cellic, Well, St Johns Town or Hibees. Does that result in is also not to be drawn against the next top three SPL teams who get through in the third round as well ? I never did like seeding and as ICT Chris had said elsewhere the away nights at lower league grounds is missed. Yes. There will be eight seeded teams, of which we will be one, and eight non seeded. Agree with you about seeding. Cup competitions should be all about random draws out of the hat.
  7. I suppose that technically Partick and Dundee United jointly held that honour on Friday evening.
  8. The continuing apathy of the Inverness footballing public is both surprising and disappointing but I really don't think it is the fault of the media. There will not be a soul in Inverness who doesn't know that we boast a top flight football team. Almost all will have an idea from the media that we have been relatively successful of late yet still they can't be bothered to come along in any numbers.
  9. Clach had a good season last year and have a stronger squad this time around. Despite their loss yesterday I would not be surprised to see the Lillies in the mix.
  10. Adam Rooney had the ball in the net on his debut for Oldham in the same match but was ruled out for some infringement. Goals aside, three former ICT players featuring in the same English League match must be something of a record.
  11. Much like ourselves, Brora have started the season topping their league.
  12. There were and still are goings on at Swindon that forced him away from there, I think Adam will do just fine.
  13. same old positivity Same old inability to recognise irony.
  14. Same old slow start to the season, same old ability of Doran to miss when it appears easier to score, same old poor crowd. Thank goodness two out of three only lasted 45 minutes.
  15. For once, I agree with Dougal. Come the end of the season I believe that Brora will be there or thereabouts.
  16. Ironic though that the first time they were able to meet the criteria for promotion off the field for the first time they fell short on the pitch.
  17. To be fair to our players this fixture is one they dont really want to be in so close to start of season. Nobody wants to risk injury in a game that has more meaning for HL teams than it does for us. I would have thought these fringe players would be putting in all the more effort to catch management's eye just prior to the start of the league season.
  18. Very pleasing to see a Scottish provincial team very similar to ourselves in profile bucking the trend and performing so well against quality European opposition. By contrast, Motherwell face an uphill battle and Swansea's stroll to victory over Malmo makes their rout of Hibs seem all the more humiliating.
  19. When fit, he is a lot better than that.
  20. Is anyone able to provide updates from Brora ?
  21. Being serious for a moment about Richie Foran, a bit concerning that our captain and possibly our most influential player misses the last warm up game. Anyone heard the reason why ?
  22. Considering that many of our team are English Conference and Division Two 'rejects' a win at an English Championship side is a fine result.
  23. For all those who were concerned that our possible European qualification would lead to humiliation and financial difficulty interesting to note that the team that took that place instead took a significant scalp and turned a tidy profit into the bargain.
  24. Apparently down on last year. A bit disappointing after our best league season ever.
