League Improvement
The hope is that the Lowland League will eventually expand to 16 or even 18 but, with most Junior teams likely to want to remain in their own set up, the expectation is that they will start with just 10. There is also a hope that in the future there might be promotion and relegation from the Highland and Lowland leagues to a system of leagues below so that one day, in theory, Ardersier could have a side in the SPL.

Talented player no doubt. I am still not convinced about his attitude.

League Improvement
Another stride in the right direction. Somewhat surprisigly, the SFL clubs have voted for reconstruction. From next season we will have a single league body, play offs between all divisions, a better financial distribution and a ' Lowland League' with, at last, a route for ambitious non league clubs to progress other than taking advantage of the demise of another club. Not ideal yet but very encouraging progress. Maybe, just maybe, there is hope for Scottish football after all.

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe Barry Robson was ever at Caledonian FC.

Something fishy going on there. An apparently intelligent and articulate County fan. Must be something amiss.

Next Close Season
Summer trivia. Don't you love it. Don't recall ever getting a pie from Munro's. I do remember there was a bakers in Muir of Ord that used to sell the finest scotch pies in the Highlands. Damned if I can remember the name though.

Personally, I was too busy savouring back to back Highland League titles by the most entertaining side ever to grace a football pitch in Inverness in the early seventies to pay too much attention to the contents of the pies.

I beg to differ, Morrison's pies were superior to either although I will concede that Burnett's bridies and sausage rolls probably just had the edge.

Pretty sure, although I do often debate with myself whether I might have just a touch of schizophrenia....
