  1. Before the season began I had a very vivid dream of ICT winning the Scottish Cup. The trouble is that the dream involved us beating Hibs 3-2 in the final ! I'm hoping now that by uncoscious self somehow managed to mistake Easter Road for Hampden.
  2. Make sure you have a clean vest !
  3. The club's initiative in dropping prices appears to have had little or no impact on the crowd. Not much incentive there to repeat the exercise.
  4. Highlight of the day was Markus coming on after his long lay off. Fraser is now looking the part after a bit of a shakey spell.
  5. I sincerely hope we achieve the milestone next week. Otherwise, as Harry Chibbr suggests, the milestone could quickly become a millstone.
  6. Personally speaking I still love Scottish Cup ties.
  7. He was never likely to be seeing out his career with ICT. I'd be astonished if he didn't have a clause in his contract allowing him to move on for a trigger fee.
  8. I hope that Deano does decide to return and fight for his place.
  9. Ideal for berthing one's yaght thus avoiding the frustration of waiting 20 minutes while the car park clears !
  10. If your party are at all interested in railway history then the NRM itself can provide a whole day's "entertainment" housing as it does the Flying Scotsman, the Mallard, a full size Bullet train from Japan as well as a host of other railway memorbilia including Royal Trains through the ages. Not everyone's cup of tea I know but it kept by somewhat demanding kids ammused for a whole day. They also tend to run day trips to Scarborough during the summer quite often hauled by the Flying Scotsman.
  11. The Viking museum " Jorvik" is interesting for all ages. There are some good boat trips with jazz cruises in the evening. The National Railway Museum not far from your hotel has a slightly more modest version of the London Eye, "The Yorkshire Eye" strangely enough which affords great view on a clear day. Betty's Tea Shop is a bit of an institution although the queues can be off putting. If all else fails there's always the Minster. As far as resaurants are concerned, there's a vey good family run Italian, the name of which escapes me just round the corner from Jorvik. The RoYal York itself has an extremely good restaurant.
  12. Sorry to see this develop, he ought to have been the sark in our misfield for many seasons to come. I'm not sure that Brewster has handled this situation at all well.
  13. Hardly likely though.
  14. A train in the morning sounds like the perfect solution !
  15. Methane
  16. They've got another 20 hour to get to Inverness with a thaw forecast for tomorrow. No problem surely.
  17. One problem that I personally have with the Stadium Trust is that it's workings are opaque to say the least. A bit more openess might go a long way to alleviating concerns although I do agre with Caley D that the trustees are individuals who have demonstrated goodwill to the club in the past. From my own point of view, I have not developed any sort of emotional attachment to the concrete and steel that form our windswept lop sided stadium. The only football venue left in town with any sort of character is Grant Street.
  18. A fitting reward for a great club servant despite his sojourn with Lvingston.
  19. Nevertheless, the stadium occupies valuable land in a prime waterfront location with a nearby trunk road.
  20. As many will recall the asset comprising the long lease of our stadium and surrounding land was transferred from the ownership of the club to a charitable trust a number of years ago. The principal motivation at the time was to relieve the club of the crippling burden of servicing almost three million pounds worth of debt on an annual turnover of about a third of that amount. The majority of those associated with the club regarded the loss of this valuable asset as a necessary evil at the time. If the debt had remained the responsibility of the club then the consequences were going to include reverting to part time football or worse. However, things have moved on since then and, without being complacent about our current SPL status, the club is now in much more robust financial health with an income stream that would now allow us to service such a level of debt without too much stress on the finances especially with interest rates on the way down again. It seems to me that there might now be merit in ownership of the rights under the lease being transferred back to the club so that the club can seek to exploit any development opportunities directly as well as beefing up the balance sheet. What do others think ?
  21. Just how many tens of millions of pounds has the opening up of the waterfront at the Longman been worth to Inverness ? An exceptional return on an investment of ?900,000 methinks.
