  1. That is good news but it is entirely appropriate to criticise the club when they get things wrong which they have done all too often in the last few years.
  2. We really need to wait until we find out which division we will be in next season before deciding what we need and, more to the point, what we can afford.
  3. He is. Add Drapes, McKay, Vigurs and Cowie and you could probably get a decent starting XI from former ICT players promoted this season.
  4. The combination of the attraction for English players of working under an England legend and the long hours and thousands of miles put in by Steve Marcella. Terry Butcher, like Steve Paterson before him, was an excellent fit for ICT with the right attitude and a good eye for a promising player and I imagine that, with the benefit of hindsight, both now regret leaving the club when they did. I suspect that both we and they would be in a much happier situation today if they had both stayed on for another two or three seasons.
  5. No TV, whilst disappointing for some, will hopefully encourage more to attend in person.
  6. Twenty five years is a whole generation. That excuse is wearing a bit thin.
  7. A good reason to put the tickets on sale earlier than normal. No reason at all not to extend the deadline by a week.
  8. I agree. County have successfully engaged with the whole county from Cromarty and Invergordon in the east to Ullapool and Gairloch in the West and a huge presence in Inverness as well. By contrast, while we have a very loyal core, we have really made no progress in engaging with the wider Inverness community in quarter of a century. That is not a random fact but reflects the efforts that County and their management have made that we have failed to learn from and it's not all about money even if that does help.
  9. We can barely afford a first team squad far less a reserve team.
  10. Maybe not being able to import talent twice a year like County will bear fruit in due course. The most successful and promising crop of youngsters we've had in a long time. Well done to them and the coaches.
  11. Better than it was the last time we were in the second tier. The extra £75,000 if we were to pip Ayr for third place would ease things for a fortnight or so.
  12. I don't think too many tears would be shed over that.
  13. The only chance we have of fending off County's interest is to gain promotion back to the Premiership. If we fail then Roy McGregor is as aware of our dire financial plight as anyone and knows full well that we are in no position to refuse any vaguely reasonable offer.
  14. We were widely ridiculed by Central Belt commentators and pundits for our small crowds when we were at Pittodrie. However, the fact that Hamilton v Livingston in the Premiership on Saturday attracted only 1,135 seems to have passed without comment, even with Hamilton having everything to play for. Had that been us in the Premiership there would, without doubt, comments about how worthy we are of our place in the top tier. Our fans have somewhat deserted us this season but I can't imagine us getting just over a thousand for a Saturday afternoon league game in the Championship far less the Premiership. Double standards yet again. It would be great to shake up those Central Belt dinosaurs by, once more, having two Highland clubs in the top tier. We would certainly bring more to the party than Hamilton Accies.
  15. That would certainly be the obvious and common sense solution.
  16. As so very many people are paid at the end/beginning of the month, a deadline a week later would have been far more sensible and reasonable but our club has not demonstrated much of either of late.
  17. Sacked by relegation bound Plymouth Argyle.
  18. Being the boring old fart that I am, I stayed in my seat in the Main Stand applauding politely ?
  19. Probably not quite as many given the extra traveling involved. Before we start thinking about how many fans we will get from the play off semis or final, we need to take care of Ayr first which is far from a given. Hopefully, Tremarco will be fit to add experience and stability to the defence.
  20. The majority of those were Dundee United fans for the semi final and Patrick fans for the final.
  21. There was a Staggie do in Dingwall on Friday. We need to make sure that we have a similar but louder Jaggie do on the 26th of May.
  22. and I hope the fans, especially some of the 14,000 who went to the cup final and haven't seen much or anything of the club since, take the opportunity to fill them. Surely we can muster at least 4,000 fans for home play off legs and, should we manage to reach the play off final, closer to 6,000. Time for the fans to rally to the cause whatever issues we have with the running of the club.
  23. One single game to go and Morton are the only team in the league who can't, in theory, either be promoted or relegated.
  24. What we would give to have Paul Ritchie in his prime up front for the plays offs.
  25. Good away win against a team fighting for their Championship lives to maintain positive momentum going into the play offs. Still a chance of pipping Ayr for third place. We think we've had it bad since we won the cup. Maybe we should spare a thought for our cup final opponents who remain favourites to be plying their trade in the third tier next season.
