  1. Remember seeing Juanjo at a pre-season game last year... possibly St Johnstone or Ross County?
  2. I'm sure I just heard Dougie McLean say that James McCarthy isn't playing today!? Boost for us if true
  3. If it goes down to the last day, you can be sure that i'll be bringing our Tartan Army Flag with me to Tulloch Stadium...
  4. Also off-topic, but it is Charlie Mulgrew that Clangers is kissing, not Considine. Considine was the one that directed the header past Clangers. I was at the match thanks to a free ticket from work
  5. A poor man's Fillipe Morais Who will spend even more time injured!

I have a superstition for Scotland games where I wear a toothbrush in the place of a skean dhu. I was in a rush to catch the train from Aberdeen to Glasgow for the Faroes game at Celtic Park in the last qualifying campaign, so grabbed my toothbrush as I could brush my teeth in the taxi to the station. Upon getting to the station I shoved it down my sock so i'd have a hand free to hand over my ticket (and disguise the bag of beer!). We won that game 6-0, so I thought i'd do the same for the next game which was away to Lithuania. Another win. France at home next, so toothbrush was shoved down the sock for a third game running, followed by another win. I also found out that night, attractive women are extremely interested as to why someone would wear a toothbrush in their sock... "It is the modern skean dhu" i'd reply, in addition to saying that it seemed to attract attractive women! You'd be surprised at how many times that line has worked The next matches I could make were the home games v. Georgia and Lithuania... again both wins, whilst my toothbrush is down the sock. Flight to Paris next, where the toothbrush raised a few eyebrows at check-in and security. Another win! Incredible night... Ukraine match in glorious sunshine as well = win! The Italy match was the only one which did not yeild a victory, still gutted about that result :thumb04: I must make clear that it was a different toothbrush for each game by the way! I used to wear the same Saltire boxer shorts at every game, until I left them at a one night stand's flat the morning after one of the Scotland friendlies (I forget which).

That is a cracking idea. I'm away to the Home Economics department investigate whether this'd be easy enough to do. Being a teacher comes in handy for the strangest things!

That's the one! Think i'm on to something here... Could always take one of the cult footballers on the Scottish parody Bj?rge Lillelien is the name of the commentator. Perhaps I can get a t-shirt commemorating his contribution to taking the p*ss out of Engeeerrland?
  9. RossP replied to RossP's topic in Caley Thistle
Quite. It has given me an idea for another t-shirt though... that Norway v. England game where the commentator was going mental with the "your boys took a hell of a beating". Off to investigate if such a thing exists...

Just in the process of sorting out some Home end tickets for the Norway v. Scotland game, since it looks like a few of our TA group might not have enough points for the 2,200 allocation which we've been given. Since we'll be in the home end (with a few Norwegian mates who are getting us the tickets), i'd rather not wear a Scotland top. I'll still wear the kilt, but would want something Norwegian to wear; preferably something a bit random. Thinking about making up my own T-shirt with a picture of Vetle Anderson (is he the only Norwegian ICT have had on the books?) Anyone help?
  11. I read the other day that he is injured
  12. St Mirren could be without 10 first-team players with Scott Cuthbert, Hugh Murray, Will Haining and Steven Thomson all being doubts through injury. Craig Dargo has joined Franco Miranda, Steven Robb, Stephen O'Donnell, Chris Smith and Tom Brighton on the sidelines at St Mirren Park. Inverness midfielder David Proctor is still missing with an ankle injury picked up in training last week. Richie Byrne and Eric Odhiambo also remain sidelined through injury. St Mirren (from): Howard, Ross, Camara, Cuthbert, Potter, McGinn, Thomson, Dorman, Murray, Mehmet, Mason, Brady, Hamilton, Wyness, Barron, McAusland, Burns, Mathers. Inverness (from): Esson, Tokely, Mihadjuks, Munro, Djebi-Zadi, Kerr, Black, Duncan, Foran, Imrie, Morais, Fraser, Duff, Hastings, Vigurs, McBain, Rooney, Barrowman. Mehmet showed last weekend that he's not fully fit as well, in addition to Hamilton playing very little games recently. I think they could struggle for goals (as they have done all season), I just hope we find some goals from somewhere. With Proctor injured it opens opportunities for a more attacking minded right midfielder (if Duncan isn't there again!!). Perhaps Morais or Imrie to play there?
  13. I'm gutted at having work commitments over the next 4 or so weeks, which will mean I can't make any of the first 4 games. I'll be watching the Hamilton game on TV though and listening to the other games. Managed to keep the Falkirk game free though. A small part of me would love to see it go down to that game (only if we win it!), as it'd be a sellout and huge celebration.
  14. Both just come back from serious injury recently... in addition to having waaaaay more experience at European and International level than Cowie, Black and Esson. As I said, i'm happy with the squad. Content that none of our players will get injured playing in a game that means very little. So why are they included then? Plus, I am sure that the B international was set up so players who didn't have international experience were given a chance to gain some. Unless Butcher has asked for his players not to be included (folly I think) then it's a disgrace, and I am actually ashamed to be from Scotland with this team. They are included to continue their international development. Wilson (captain of Scotland Under 21s a few years ago) and Naismith (also a former Scotland under 21 captain and has 1 full cap) are better players than any ICT player, and will have a greater chance of becoming a recognised International regular; so it makes sense for George Burley to keep their development going. This will also be the first time he has seen either player in a Scotland shirt during his time as the International manager; which will allow him to assess whether they'd be capable of making the step up to the full squad before the year is out. I'd rather players on the fringe of being in the first Scotland X11 play in this match, rather than players that have impressed at club level for perhaps a half season or so e.g. Imrie and Cowie. Surprised Black wasn't included as he's been solid for 2 seasons now, but I suppose that Red Card in the last B International wouldn't of helped

  16. Scotland B squad That's not too bad a squad considering we can't select any players who'd be playing for Dundee Utd/Abdn/Hibs/Hearts and the teams in the Championship chasing playoff places.
  17. Is the English FA Cup 3pm kick off that day?

A good goal, but he looked like a total plonker in his celebration of Fletcher's goal!
  19. Does that guy who sits in Main Stand still do his "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK" shout? My favourite was an ICT v. Dunfermline game a few seasons back, which was particularly boring. 88 minutes of near silence in the North Stand until one brave soul began with "Give me a 'C'"... met with near silence... then a moment later someone shouted "Quiet you, i'm trying to sleep!" Another would be the time someone went "Give me a C, Give me a A, Give me an L, Give me a.......uhh...em....E" That 2 second pause trying to work out what the next letter was resulted in a 1000 or so folk laughing and cheering their way through the 'Y'

i thought morais was great for us against st mingin hope he manages to stay fit you can see he has got real talent Thought he had a great game, plays the ball on the deck. Also thought Kerr is making a difference and improving with every game as he gets match fit I agree that Kerr was v.good. Very comfortable on the ball.
  21. I go to the Bon Accord pre and post match for most of the Dons v. ICT games, mainly for the reasons outlined above. Nae a great choice on beer, but that's the only criticism I have about an otherwise fine establishment
  22. I stand to win just over ?300 if Killie get relegated, so i'm really really counting on their terrible run continuing!!
  23. Lionel was definitely unlucky with the goal, watching the game again on BBC ALBA last night showed the ball was just hit off him; he had no time to react. The rest of the game he looked very good I felt. Some nice touches, good runs, strong in the air... I'll still hold my breath every time he's on the ball though!!
  24. 15-20mins walk, mega easy to find. If people are arriving close to kick off, please bear in mind that there will be a minutes silence for the 16 who lost their lives last week in the North Sea helicopter tradegy. Be respectful.

Anyone know how much we got in transfer fee for him? Glad to see he's doing well
