  1. ICT have always suffered from poor home attendances. What I found particularly disappointing was the higher we progressed through the leagues, the lower the average attendances became! I suppose there was an element of the novelty factor wearing off, but even so it must have been galling for management and players alike. Having been to a few matches over the last two or three years, it is clear the quality of football played by the current team is poor compared to teams of the past (even in the then second and first divisions). If that improved, I am sure the punters would return.
  2. FFS : that's all we did in the ill fated RF season : you'd have thought someone had worked out it doesn't work...…….
  3. Hahahahahahaha………… I've only seen a handful of ICT matches since our cup win : each has been more depressing than the last (the cup win v Dumbarton being an exception albeit the quality was still pretty low). Looking at the posts, seems things haven't improved...………..
  4. We just can't get any sort of run going. Our home form is truly woeful.
  5. Yup: great memories. Over the last few seasons we have lost that fighting spirit and never say die attitude. Let's hope for a good run in starting with 3 points today.
  6. Yes I heard that interview too : he was clearly not happy at his club's situation! Can't see him lasting long. Agreed we need to win on Saturday to keep a bit of momentum going Our home record is poor (2 wins in 11 games) and we have taken more points on the road (20 against 13).

    Draws.......

Twelve so far out of 21 league games. I see the record for the SPL is 16 in a season : any idea of the all time Sottish record?
  8. Yup : good result. Every win instils a bit of confidence. The BBC report has EK with 56% of the possession?
  9. Beat Ayr at Somerset Park (assuming we beat Falkirk in the next league match) and I'll be even more impressed!
  10. From the several matches I have been to over the last 3 years or so, that sums it up perfectly. Just hope someone in ICT's management realises that one of these days.
  11. Spot on. I watched ICT from 1994 until 2008 when I moved to the Central Belt : have only seen a handful of matches since then. After Yogi's reign, I was shocked at how bad we had become during the ill fated Foran season : the matches I have witnessed this season give no cause for optimism. We have no leader, no shape and no passion : things ICT teams always had no matter what division we were in. ……. and again we are struggling to hang on to a play off spot. Something has to change but as one poster said, I guess we don't have the cash to ditch Robbo so alternative plans are needed.
  12. Going by the highlights, we had many more chances : most are right in front of goal where the player should at least hit the target / test the keeper. Too many draws will cost us : along with strikers who are pretty ineffectual. Even if we sneak into the play offs, can't see this lot lasting long. What with being a long time Spurs supporter, it's been a bummer of a weekend.
  13. Good win : need to get a few more and then who knows? County in drivng seat so if we can win on Saturday the race is, in my opinion, wide open.
  14. Totally agree : the speed at which we fell (and there's no realistic sign of it improving any time soon) is a disgrace. Not sure who is to blame, but we have come from a solid top league team (and worthy cup winners) to a mid table Championship team going nowhere fast.
  15. Great to see a win at last but reading the reports doesn't sound like a great team performance. At least we are back in the top 4 but a bit of a gap to Ayr who seem pretty strong. The Arabs are also beginning to get their act together. We really need to step up a couple of gears and stringing a few wins together (including the upcoming match at Somerset Park).
  16. Sorry : didn't look far enough down the topic list. Thought we might be getting near a record. As someone else said, a lot of these draws have been against teams we really should be beating : don't want to end up playing catch up as we did last year eventually running out of matches.
  17. Seven draws in a row in senior football : has to be some sort of record (for ICT or any other club)?
  18. As ICT progressed through the divisions, no matter the opposition you always felt they were capable of scoring and a match for anyone. Same when they reached the SPL. Admittedly I haven't seen a lot of matches over the last few seasons but watching them now is a bit depressing. No stand out players and little quality. Perhaps it's a commentary on Scottish football in general?
  19. Rather depressing overall. Ayr and County have opened up a gap at the top and by the sounds of it, the Arabs are getting their act together under their new boss. Two goals In the last five matches says it all. It has been clear from day one that our attackers lack finishing ability. Today although Alloa looked slicker than us a lot of the time, we had a handful of decent chances but lacked the composure / ability to take them. Need to go up about three gears to have any chance of a play off place.
  20. Much more like it : my youngest son was there. He said we were well worth the win on the 2nd half performance. Everyone seems to be picking up points from each other, so keep scoring the goals and we can win the league. Defence seems relatively solid.
  21. Watched the highlights the other night : should have hit double figures. I realise they are only highlights but so many chances to win 4 or 5 matches. No point in dominating matches if you can't finish the job
  22. All sounds depressingly familiar : too often we are on top and fail to finish teams off. Two league games in row where we had a one man advantage at home and failed to finish off the job (including missed penalty!). We should have 9 points and not 5. Blindingly obvious that our main problems are up front (not to excuse defensive blunders). With all teams taking points off each other, even at this early stage of the season, there is no stand out team (same last season with the exception of St Mirren), so get our act together and there is no reason we can't win the league (wishful thinking perhaps).
  23. Agree 100% with the sentiment. The signs this early don't inspire confidence.
  24. Worrying that we can't beat a team who played the majority of the match with 10 men. One goal in 180 minutes doesn't bode well : it was clear from last week's evidence (match should have been over by half time) that we are not sharp enough up front. Defence seems capable enough so it's pretty clear where most of the attention needs to go.
