  1. if we can get a win then we could be 10 pts clear going into the cup weekends
  2. Just watched the highlights and i am appalled by a couple of things. First off davie was right in his description of the pitch, that was a disgrace that not even weeds could grow on let alone actual grass. As for ciftci he was a disgrace and I hope he gets what is coming to him because he is a veil player goes to far. Although they didnt score what does he do not to get a yellow card for what wasn't just a push but almost an assault that left our player (think it was meekings) not just falling on the floor but actually sliding along it the force was so hard. As for warren silly to get involved but perfectly understandable as another blatant act of trying to hurt another player. There is physicality in football and i do believe that it may have got a bit to soft on what is a foul and what is not but this is a genuine attempt to hurt another player. When we play them again at our place I hope he gets what he deserves with a few nice little kicks to his shins and the crowd give him pelters. As for the BBC i know they don't particularly give us much but I feel totally conned by some of their commentary. I said last night that although people were talking about evening the game up with Calum Murray I thought he had done us a favour with Raven and especially Watkins which sounded a shocker. Raven was lucky from the hightlights but Watkins apparently went in two footed and was a straight red. Now the tackle was stupid and reckless and justified his yellow but it was no where near a two footer so wow thanks BBC i thought you couldnt get any lower.
  3. I mentioned this in a another thread but Dundee UTD will miss two weeks with cup commitments. Now we will also miss those weeks because of the cup and the fact we were supposed to play them when they face Celtic at Hampden but they have to face them three times. If they take a battering in any of them then there morale is going to be shot especially if it is in the cup final. The weekend we should have played them we won't be involved and so from Raith a week sat we get a two week break so if the players are feeling fatigued then it may be a nice break for them to recharge the batteries. We then then face Partick who we know are our bogey side but if we can perform like in the cup and this time actually kill it then Utd face Celtic at Parkhead same day so we may go further ahead. They have to travel north in that rearranged fixture so although we worried that we may burn out and miss out on Europe we still hold all the aces and we still remain unbeaten. I did see one post on another thread that said we may not get by the first qualifying round so it may not be a bad thing to miss out. Maybe we will get knocked out but we are the same if better that St Johnstone and they have had a few mini adventures so we cant we. It may at a cost if we get some obscure eastern team but it may help us attract players and it raises the profile of the club to be involved in Europe. And aside from Europe we get more money from finishing 3rd than 4th so for me its a no brainer. Unless we pull far away it will be a nerve wrecking final run but we can do it and lets get fully behind the boys.
  4. although we are annoyed at tonight there is room to be optimistic. This weekend is the last weekend where United play in the league before they face a very difficult month facing Celtic three weeks in a row.if the gap is still 7 or we can improve it again then this could be the pivotal time. United play in the cup like us so we don't gain there but the weekend after we get a two week gap so if the guys need a little recharge then that would be good with United in League cup action. Then they face Celtic away in their first league match so we may not have games in that period to rack up points and put pressure on but having that break may do the players good and if they take some batterings off Celtic in all 3 games or even just the final then their morale could plummet. We just have to keep our feet grounded and keep going. We can beat anyone on our day and we just need to gain some composure back and see out games. I think the battle will go to the end but with them having to play us again on a midweek but up north we are in the driving seat. I mean we haven't actually been beaten so to be disappointed in 2 points out of our last 2 matches shows how far we have come so Comon lads lets not undo the good work this season and push for that finishing line
  5. Listened to the game and although the question from our twitter was why weren't more utd players booked and callum murray not having a great night it does sound like he did let us off the hook a little with raven and Watkins. Raven booked inside 10 secs of ko in the first half is ridiculous but then to immediately dive in straight after half time is criminal and then apparently Marley went in two footed and was lucky not to see a straight red but I havent seen it and it could be the genuinely biased BBC commentary team making it sound worse than it was.
  6. I think it is to strong to say that our euro chances are going down the pan but two games where we didn't take advantage is a worry especially seeing as this has been coming for a little while against St Mirren and Partick. Its hard to say whether the point is better for us or them. On one hand we would have taken a point and they still have it all to do to catch us. But with the match situation its a great point for them and and may just give them a little kick start so very disappointed but we should just take each game as it comes. Lets forget Europe for now and get back on track against Motherwell and keep going.
  7. so we miss another chance and i mean to play against 10 men for 85 and not win is a shocker and i don't understand why the players were getting involved when it wasnt needed
  8. Utd have sounded like they upped the tempo but we have stopped playing why
  9. what is happening it seems like all the players are losing there heads
  10. Was frustrating listening to OAM that everytime Rob McClean opened his trap when we were leading that it was an equaliser. As said to score three goals at home especially going ahead three times then we should have had the points but the performance sounds like it wasn't to bad so hopefully it hasn't stunted out momentum. I think we should jut right this off as one of those games (high scoring games seem to be against Killie). Dundee Utd is now a massive game and we should feel confident with them suddenly losing form so bring it on!!!!!
  11. well we remain unbeaten but its a missed opportunity really
  12. Looks like Nick is next in line for contract talks
  13. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Chick Young ... Btw, isn't football commentary/analysis meant to be impartial. BBC Radio Scotland are s?&# at it ... Between Gordon/Miller pro-Aberdeen and Chick Young pro-St Mirren etc Its funny you say that as it wasnt just Chick who was having a dig about time wasting but miller was asked at half time about us so far this season and he came out with the dribble that our possession based game in his 'personal view' is boring and has to much passing back 'for his liking'. I know we have had some games where we have struggled and maybe not got the ball forward enough especially last season when we were learning it but again the bbc in stead of praising us for what we have achieved they always have someone on hand just to find one thing to pick at, pathetic really.
