  1. Keep going from strength to strength. This team now does have some depth and options so hopefully we can keep this going excellant win and although i would liked to have had more we sounded comfortable and should have given them a doing had we converted most of our chances
  2. Full marks to ICT for their 'bring a friend for £5' initiative. Sadly, it hasn't worked @SundayMailSport bit of a shame but not a surprise as for the game im getting far more off our twitter feed than oam again not a surprise
  3. marley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Money a big factor for this one as it is a huge game for pride but that it as it it a friendly and would you pay 60 quid for that
  5. It shouldn't be about novelty these games are where the passion should be most intense, and yes Scottish football is stale with the number of games vs the same teams over and over again. But the Derby should be the one to buck the trend as it is more than just playing a normal average lower half team it is about local pride and when we were in the lower leagues the attendances never got this low. I can understand we have a core support and at this moment we are struggling to break this ceiling and boost our home numbers but we just have to get on with it. But county there is no excuse for me. We both have small away supports due to the massive amounts of travelling that supporters have to do. This is one game where county could at least fill most of that stand, a lot live in Inverness anyway. When we go to Dingwall we take at 3/4 of that stand so I find it disgraceful they cant muster more to our place.
  6. gutted we didnt win shame our slow start cost us a win
  7. Novelty factor has nothing to do with it. A derby is a derby and even in the lower leagues crowds remained healthy but I feel it is because games are cntrolled by TV which is major factor instead of a 3pm ko on a saturday when i am sure crowd numbers would improve and if it is to be believed that the county fans dont want to give us money then that is very sad. The old firm are vile, the Edinburgh, dundee tayside derbes get great numbers even though they in some cases they hate each other. This is county's chance to take a large crowd to back their team that they don't normally have away from home because it is close but i find it sad that the game of the season for both teams is descending into just another match. But on this occasion I do feel sorry for some fans n both sides with the travel problems you face on a sunday.
  8. Pete O Rouke works for Sky sports so it is a genuine account
  9. That will always be the case. People enjoy the thrill of finals and such but dont enjoy the mundane week in week out football. I know but it used to happen 20-30 years ago with terracing where crowd figures would be thousands even tens of thousands more than they are at moment. The league structure is stale and I believe that Scotland needs to follow some of the route that was proposed when the league reconstruction debate was happening. The full time clubs need to go alone and the other smaller clubs need to go into regional leagues as far to many of the part teams have very little ambition to go far yo-yoing between league 1 and 2. But I think we have to face facts that we are a small supported club atm and i point to the cup quarter vs Dundee Utd last season. We at one stage were second in the league, reached our first national cup final and were going strong in the premier cup competition. The club reduced prices and we were on the verge of a semi final of the Scottish cup that people rave about being the most important and that people will come out for it more than the league cup. We got a very poor crowd for what was a big match and ok we had played Utd a few times already in the league but for a one off cup match we could have expected more even if the cup final was the next weekend. That is the state of play and the club does a lot to encourage more people and especially build bridges with the youth who are the future. The econonmy isnt great and people are struggling and it is an expensive past time that some people have to choose to bin off there weekly budget as it is a luxury rather than a necessity. But I think it is overplayed as an excuse and i think that most people that don't go, don't because they don't want to rather than money constraints. When i was a ST holder i used to get stopped by people after games on my way to the train or bus station what the score was and some were very interested but they didn't go to the game. Why are these people not going if they are interested, where are those fan that promised to back the club if it did the right thing with the Rangers issue a few seasons back and where are some of the fans who were so turned off by that first season of experimentation by Butcher (when he started bringing in all those new faces and got rid of some of the clubs highland core). Those people were disgusted by some of the football and i agree it wasnt pretty and some people threatened and some did not renew but Butcher turned it around and since we have grow better and better where are those people. I think it has been said but sometimes we should stop making excuse's for these people and criticize the club for not doing enough when these people have to actually meet the club half way and criticize them for not doing enough for there local club.
  10. The whole Europe factor brings out the crowds because it is a novelty and something new compared to the same old of the normal season.I am sure our crowds would go up and may be close to full if we had a small run in Europe as it is new for us. I believe most sides in the premiership have enough supporters to sell out week in week out. Aberdeen 40000 v us last season, Dundee Utd sell out derbies plus 25-30,000 at cup finals, Dundee have decent crowds and could sell dens, St Johnstone sold out McDairmaid in the past and almost did it for European games, Partick got 9,000 for a decider v Morton a few seasons back, Motherwell in Europe, Hibs and Hearts both have enough to sell out each of there grounds and more but more often than not no ground is full. All these show though that it is one off events and it brings the crowds. The league set up is overpriced and has no novelty left. But i'm not going to open that can of worms up again so we have to try to do the best we can as a club on the issues we can control. Although there is no massive world class talents i still think the standard of football is entertaining even if it isnt of high technical quality. We lost 3-2 to Aberdeen today in a game that could of gone either way with chances for both sides and we have lost it is still decent entertainment. We just need to get more people to see this entertainment and take pride in their local team which is easier said than done
  11. Nimely is a free agent so it doesnt matter we can still sign if we want him
  12. I think the window is important for us keeping players but not so fr bringing in. Maybe we could get a loan but as has already been said any permanent deals we make are free transfers so it is not really our market unless a loan. If we get no one in but don't lose no one then im delighted and we may still add 1 or 2 free's after the window
  13. Just seen the highlights very happy indeed and the passing game is coming on. The issue we had is we didn't pass quick enough but judging by the 4 mins of highlights from yesterday and highlights of the other games the passing is quick and threatening but the movement is outstanding. I know im just watching it from the best part point of view but most people seem absolutely delighted by how we have played since the opening couple of matches and all i can say is I wish i was back in the highlands to renew my season ticket again. As for attendance Jim Spence gave it as 3830 and the BBC have given it that but i remember our crowds were in between 3500 and 4,000 for most in the first division and it always looked fuller than that so i think it was probably 2830 instead. Shame with the football on offer and what looked like a beautiful day but although it would be good for better attendances i'm a Fan and although i cant get to home games any more im proud to support officially the best club in scotland
  14. Well the typo may have been made but Jim Spence on Open all Mics said it was 3830 when it was announced
  15. Tanseyyyyyyyyyyy 2-0
  16. Ya beauty Dorannnnnnnnnnnn
  17. 3830 is an improvement tho although how many killie fans there
  18. I think it would be foolish to sell now with such little time to get any replacements in
  19. After a pretty disappointing day (In Manchester) i am so happy to come on here and enjoy not only a win but hear how good it was. I posted in the Dundee match day thread that the ball retention style may suit us for being away than at home. Lots of people on wed said we were to slow and so struggled for space to break down a team that made itself hard to breakdown. But looking at the stats and hearing all the reports of people in attendance then this shouldn't be a problem if we can lay like that at home. With such wide dimensions at home if we could play the possession game but with quicker pace, urgency and get more men to support billy then teams will struggle to contain us with the spaces we could create. But we wont know until our next home game after Celtic because we all know that even at home it is more like an away game as we know they will have lots of possession. But i believe we can beat them even after today. I expected UTD to give them a tough challenge but i believe even though i haven't seen the game that the scoreline was more to do with Dundee Utd having a mare at the back than one of those days where Celtic are unplayable. If we can frustrate them by keeping the ball well and close them down well like today then I don't see why we cant get 3 points against a pretty weak side compared to teams they have had in the past. Roll on sat and lets show that the press were wrong to single out Aberdeen as challengers haha
  20. Well I am not so sure but if you say so, of course I BOW TO YOUR SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE, MY PERCEPTION WAS THE REF HAD A VERY GOO No need to shout or the sarcasm, Jiust saying it as I say it. The only booing I heard in the North stand was directed towards the referee. One occasion was when Doran (I think) was clean through on goal and the referee stopped play to book a Dundee player instead of playing advantage. I did not hear any booing personally towards the players. I have to agree with OCG the booing was aimed towards the ref because of us being through in on goal and the ref stopping the play to book a player which is not the correct way of doing things because we were in a goal scoring opportunity. I don't think we booed any players directly it was more of booing the ref and the style of our play at one point but that's about it bud. Alan Preston on OAM was aghast at that decision
  21. My worry with the Hughes style is that it will work well for us away from home where teams will come onto us and we can counter or capitalise on a mistake like on sat. But at home with the onus on us as the home team to play and put the pressure on we don't seem to get forward quick enough or get enough support to make more chances. I hope as the season goes on maybe we will be braver at home and start to capitalise on chances we create. Still to early to make assumptions and we did have 12 shots on goal so we will have to wait and see what Yogi himself has to say and the fans at the game.
  22. OR the money might go towards keeping Billy and Graeme !!!! I agree that was said also and of course i would rather keep both but i think Hughes is still looking and will bring someone in if he feels it will benefit us
  23. We are looking at the forward area if you read the courier he talks about a few more trialists and one he thinks will fit the bill so we will get a 1 or 2 in yet http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Were-desperate-to-keep-Shinnie-and-Mckay-Hughes-11082014.htm
  24. good but it misses out his strike at county in the cup and the county league match last season
  25. Don't know what the fuss was about we are top of the league haha
