Are you saying that we should have operated with a much smaller wage budget than we actually had?! I would have said that basing it on 7th place was a sensible compromise of ambition and prudence. Take a 6 figure sum off Foran’s budget and we would have been condemned to a relegation battle even if he had turned out to be a good manager.

7 clean sheets in a row is a remarkable!

It’s some achievement given that we were a shambles who conceded 2-4-3-2 in the previous 4 games! Despite the recent impressive defensive record, only 3 teams have conceded more. Interestingly, one of them is top of the league!

A trawl through each season’s results on this site seems to reveal that this is the first time ever that we have gone 6 competitive matches in a row without conceding! There have been several occasions when we’ve managed 5 in a row in the league, including some at Premier league level - one of those was when we won all our post-split fixtures under Christie. In terms of minutes, it is fairly likely that this is also our longest run but to be certain you’d have to look at when the goals were conceded in the matches immediately before and after the various 5 game runs.

Anyone happen to know our record for number of games or minutes without conceding? There can’t be many times we’ve had a run this long.

Interesting thought! It's rare but I think it has happened before - but only when we have won, of course. I suspect there is a clear correlation between the ref rating and how happy we were with the result.

Great goal indeed, but if we were the ones conceding it we’d be asking about the defending and lack of tracking etc - we moved the ball 80 yards up the pitch without any opponents getting anywhere near to putting a challenge in.

True, tightening up the defence is usually the key to sorting out a shambolic team, and you can then build from that. Interesting that all 3 of our clean sheets in the league, as well as the Peterhead one, were achieved without Warren.

I had been wondering the same thing after I saw him play. It's either that or a case of identity fraud.

Just an observation, but our 2 clean sheets this season (Brechin and QotS) both arose when Warren wasn't playing.

Yet until very recently he looked one of our better players. What's happened (perhaps behind the scenes)?
