  1. Technically he wasn't snapped up from Liverpool, they released him in May! Remains to be seen how well he does up here - did OK at Hearts, at 21 he should still be improving and of course he's 6'6", BUT last season he only scored 1 goal from 20 appearances for Yeovil and Walsall.
  2. Marius Niculae has left Ukranian side Hoverla (3 goals from 14 appearances last season) to join Sanliurfaspor in Turkey's 2nd flight.
  3. A disappointing 0-0. Can't help thinking we'll be seeing a lot of those this season!
  4. Incidentally, I see that SC Paderborn are now in the Bundesliga - that's one of the teams Lionel Djebi-Zadi played for between leaving County and joining us. Perhaps German league football's not such a high standard after all!
  5. Still a big step up. Kilmarnock or Kaisersalutern? Dingwall or Dusseldorf? Motherwell or Munich (1860)? 'Berdeen or Berlin? St Johnstone or St Pauli?
  6. Saw that earlier, but it's just rehashing and translating what the Record said. I found a couple of FSV fan forums but there's no mention there.
  7. There's no Nandos in Frankfurt. There's is however a company there called "Mckay Relocation".
  8. FSV made their way up from the amateur leagues over the years and have become an established 2nd flight side over the past few seasons. Wkipedia describes them as "living in the shadow of their more successful local rivals".
  9. ^ This. We wanted £500,000 in January, and his value has dropped since then. Once you get above £300,000 we're into the territory where I suspect we'd sell, but it would do an awful lot of harm to our season.
  10. If that is correct we should be turning it down.
  11. Great stuff. And it was good to see you wearing your ICT away top on the Monday and the Friday of your holiday 4 weeks ago. Stalker alert! Stalker alert!
  12. Played in a friendly at the weekend but then told he's not wanted.

Interesting. I wonder if it anything to do with this thread!
  14. That won't have any bearing on the appeal. The teams will just take each other's place in the CL/Europa. Bizarrely though, as Celtic were seeded in the CL draw and Legia wouldn't have been, if Legia's appeal succeeds they will have an easier draw and a better chance of reaching the group stages than they would have done if they hadn't broken the rules!
  15. What if Legia win their appeal?!
  16. The 2nd leg was awarded as a 3-0 win (making Mr. W.Alkover Celtic's top scorer this season) which could set an interesting precedent: if you win your first leg 4-0, can you guarantee your place in the next round by fielding an ineligible player? Edit - scratch that, silly question, if the 2nd leg was 0-5 they'd obviously just allow the result to stand.
  17. Reinstated to the Champions League because Legia brought on a suspended player as sub for the last 2 minutes when they were 6-1 up! A real shame for Legia and their fans, leaving someone at the club with a bit of explaining to do. I recall that if Celtic make the group stages, all clubs in our league get extra income so it is potentially a good development for ICT, although the chances of Celtic winning their next tie seem pretty slim given the thrashing they got from an unspectacular side.
  18. I'm willing to trust that you are right about the figure and would describe it as derisory.
  19. http://sport.stv.tv/football/285427-inverness-ct-turn-down-approach-for-leading-striker-billy-mckay/ Kenny basically saying that our policy remains unchanged. Note though that he doesn't go as far as to say Billy will be staying with us - is he leaving the door open for an improved offer, or am I overanalysing his choice of words?
  20. We've been top 6 for 2 seasons in a row, have kept the squad intact with the younger players improving all the time, and the calibre of our opponents is weaker than ever. If we aren't top 6 again, we most definitely have the wrong manager in place.
  21. Goalscorers are notoriously hard to find on our kind of budget, look how many duds County have been through in the last couple of seasons. It would be madness to sell our only credible striker on the eve of the start of the season, and we shouldn't be surprised if we end up in a relegation scrap as a result.
  22. Of the 42 possibilities (21 teams x home/way) that was the least desirable draw for us. Mind you, it'll be the best if manage to win.
  23. I see John Christophe Ayina is now on trial with Osasuna, who have just been relegated from La Liga. You can't really blame him for turning us down if he has interest from that sort of level.
