The world cup!
Dear England, As your nearest neighbours we would like to offer condolences for your sad loss. At times like this it can be hard to find the right words, so we've made a short video instead. http://www.joe.ie/football/world-cup-2014-brazil/vine-scottish-fan-goes-absolutely-nuts-celebrating-suarez-second-goal-with-uruguay-fans-in-brazil/

Summer transfer targets
Slew got 1 goal from 20 appearances. Having said that, this makes him one of County's most prolific strikers in recent years.

World Cup Players at TCS
I think you might be thinking of the Caley 0-4 Leicester friendly in 1983, which came about after the Kevin McDonald transfer. I can't remember for sure if Lineker actually played or not, as he wasn't at all famous back then, but he was definitely a first team regular at that stage. Steve Lynex and Alan Smith were the players to fear IIRC.

World Cup Players at TCS
If we've run out of players, how about a different question: Which TV pundits at the world cup have faced ICT as either player or manager?

Pre-season friendlies
Hopefully this isn't all just a misunderstanding involving ICT going to St Andrews!

World Cup Players at TCS
And we reached the SPL long after Stephanie Gui'varch had gone. Whilst not quite answering this particular question, I can recall as a boy reading something in a Caledonian FC match programme circa 1981 about Peter Bonnetti (who got a medal in 1966) stepping in to play for Caley in a pre-season match when he was on holiday up here. Can't find any references to it online but I swear I'm not completely making it up!

The world cup!
It's a bit of a simplification but is it fair to say that teams that attack with pace are getting the better of the possession based sides?

Brilliant result for me, they were 4/1 to win that one.

The world cup!
Have you noticed the technological improvements brought in for this tournament? Not just the goal line technology and line spray for free kicks, but the ability for teams to now play against other whilst physically located in different stadiums? It sounds incredible, but I keep reading how England will be faced with a dodgy pitch, intense heat and humidity, malaria and thousands of miles travelling to Manaus, whilst Italy apparently don't have any of those issues to contend with.

The world cup!
I won't be surprised if England do quite well, as they don't have the usual weight of expexctations on them, Italy are nothing special, Suarez isn't fit, and their last 16 opponents would be from one of the weakest groups. But I did have to laugh at the front page of Private Eye I saw in a shop today: it's a photo of the England players disembarking their aircraft, and the pilot is saying "Shall I just keep the engine running?"

The world cup!
The South Africa World Cup was the least entertaining one ever (OK I wasn't around in 1930, but Scarlet Pimple tells me that one was decent enough) but if last night's opening game is anything to go by this could be a very good tournament.

Italy are rubbish at the moment. Haven't won any of their last 7 games, 5 of which were at home and included Armenia, Ireland and Luxembourg. Luxembourg. http://metro.co.uk/2014/06/05/and-italy-drew-with-these-guys-luxembourg-player-takes-worst-throw-in-in-history-of-football-4751629/

BBC: "Dempster and Petrie will now hold discussions with other members of the Easter Road board before deciding on whether to keep Butcher in place." I would presume that a large part of yesterday's meeting would have been about money - either the pay-off sums for the management team, or if Hibs are willing to give them another chance, persuading them to accept significantly lower pay than their current contracts entitle them to.

Synthetic surface and club marketing
I see Killie are letting fans get their hands on the outgoing turf. If ICT did that, which precise piece of the pitch would you want? Incidentally, my lawn is turf from Tannadice. When the house was built, the first owner was a Utd player who got it when they replaced the pitch one summer. Thankfully it wasn't from the time their pitch was a barren sandpit.

"I have plans to meet Terry next week and once we have had that conversation and come to a conclusion about the direction of the club then I will be able to come out and talk," she said. To me that sounds very much like "I'm going to sack him but will wait to do it do it face to face rather than through the media".
