  1. Quote from Hughes on the day he took over the team that was flying high in 2nd place and well clear of 3rd : "I'm not going to change too much" We all assumed he meant he wasn't going to change ICT too much, but now it seems he meant it in the sense that he wasn't going to change his own approach too much!
  2. Charged with the heinous crime of "singing in public about Heart of Midlothian FC in administration." Sheesh.
  3. Does anyone know how many players we have had sent off this season, compared to how many opposing players have been sent off when playing us?
  4. I think its just his way of saying "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea".
  5. Take 6 points this week, even 4, and I'm sure we'll rediscover our optimism.
  6. It's just a pity the St Mirren keeper didn't pick up an unfortunate injury early in the game, as all they had on the bench was Paul Mathers - age 44, retired 7 years ago, and hasn't played at this sort of level since the 1990s at Falkirk.
  7. That league table isn't quite as bad as I would have expected it to look based on the way we are playing, but the 1.17 points per game we've "achieved" under Hughes is still a full point per game less than before he arrived.
  8. Whilst I very much enjoy seeing Butcher fail after the manner of his departure, it is still rather sad that if Hibs, and therefore ICT, had kept the managers they had at the start of the season, both teams would be doing considerably better than they are.
  9. This game sees the end of a hectic and pretty disastrous month of March. Eight games, and the only win was at home to Partick. Our aspirations in both cups ended, as did our European hopes. Players looking fatigued, manager looking devoid of solutions. Fans disappointed. Will April be any better? Two more games in quick succession doesn't bode well, but then a 2 week rest will hopefully allow everyone to recharge their batteries before the difficult top 6 games. I can't help thinking that today was our best chance of a win before the end of the season, but anything could happen.
  10. Meh. You've got to win your home games against the 2nd worst team in the league if you are going to get anywhere. We're going nowhere. The only bright side is that, for the first time this season I think, we conceded the first goal and actually managed to get something from the game. Progress?
  11. Taxi for Dilo!
  12. I think we can expect our next few opponents to see the weakness and start chasing down all the passbacks.
  13. In our 13 league games since Christmas, we have scored just 8 goals. That includes 3 v County, which was the only time we scored more than 1 goal in a game. We are so poor going forward these days, and whilst there's not going to be any miracle solution, giving Christie more game time increasingly looks like it has to be part of the answer.
  14. Having listened to Hughes post-match interview tonight, all we got was two dozen cliches and all the stuff about what a wonderful bunch of lads we have. There was nothing whatsoever to suggest that he knows what is wrong with the team/tactics or that he know what to do about it. Maybe he just keeps those things private.
  15. My player ratings out of 10: Brill 4 Raven 6 Meekings 6 Warren 6 Shinnie 6 Tansey 4 Draper 6 Foran 6 Vincent 4 Watkins 6 Mckay 4 Hard to pick our MOM. I thought Foran had a great first half, he was everywhere, whilst Watkins was a threat in the first but not in the game after that. Draper was tidy enough and pretty cosnsitent so maybe he notches it.
  16. A couple of mistakes at the back cost us the game, but we were so poor going forward, yet again. We just don't attack with pace or purpose, and just can't hit on the break like we used to. With the exception of Polworth's screamer, our shooting was so weak, every single time. The efforts that were on target were soft and straight to the keeper, and when Billy was neatly played through, he paused and then just made a hash of it. Worst I've seen him play, and any other team would drop him and bring in one of their back up strikers. Is it fatigue, lack of confidence, or both? Having said that, he was in the right place in the last minute to launch for a diving header but put it agonisingly wide when we thought he would score. The arrival of Christie seemed to galvanise the team into suddenly wanting to attack and score. He needs to start, probably instead of the ineffective Vincent.
  17. Make that 9. Enough to win a league cup semi-final!
  18. Interesting that your method puts Keogh on the bench for the 03/04 promotion season, when he was the CTO player of the year!
  19. A pitch control is a control on an audio device such as a turntable, tape recorder, or CD player that allows the operator to deviate from a standard speed (such as 33⅓, 45 or even 78 rpm on a turntable). Hope this clears it up.
  20. Update to that update : he eventually signed for them last week. Rather randomly, he is also referred to in a technical page about Wikipedia bot requests. I believe this is a first for an ex-ICT player! Last-name-first redirects. Every page on a human name written in conventional Western style (e.g. Jacob Henderson) should have a redirect pointing to that name from its sortname title (e.g. Henderson, Jacob). This makes it easier to find names when searching by last name, which is the common practice of print encyclopedias, and which many users may expect. This also applies to disambiguation pages (e.g. John Anderson), which are tagged with an {{hndis}} template, and should have an incoming redirect (e.g. Anderson, John). In each case, the redirect itself should be tagged {{R from sort name}} to indicate that it is a printworthy redirect. There are some special cases, particularly redirects with accents, diacritics, or other special characters. Where a name has a such a character, (e.g. Torbjørn Agdestein), there should be a redirect from the actual last-name-first title (e.g. Agdestein, Torbjørn) and from the sortname title (e.g. Agdestein, Torbjorn), with only the sortname title having the {{R from sort name}} tag. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bot_requests
  21. I have a recollection that we once played at the Caterick army base but I may well have dreamt it, or was it pre-merger Caley who did that? I can say withj more confidence though that Caley Thistle's first ever game was away to RAF Kinloss.
  22. I mind Mantis telling me he was there, and gave some of the players a lift to see a band in the evening.
  23. Should Hughes be sacked? No. Coming at it from a different angle, though: If, back in November, a time traveller had handed Kenny Cameron a bit of paper showing the results that would arise between December and March if we appointed Hughes, would he still have got the job?
  24. Any relation to Charlie Christine?
  25. At what point in the 2nd half should Hughes give up on this match and start thinking about Saturday? We clearly have some players who need a rest.
