  1. Better than the full national team?!

While we're talking "what ifs", who knows what impact the postponment of the New Year fixture could have on our final league position? At the time, we were unbeatable, whilst County were very poor and not safe from relegation. Now, having made some inspired signings in the January window, they are the SPL's form team, whilst our results have been patchy at best. And they've had time to turn their pitch into a sand pit that only they know how to play on. But derbies very often turn out the opposite of what you expected, so maybe we'd actually have lost the original fixture if it had gone ahead but will now be fired up enough to win this one against the odds.
  3. His tweets suggest he hasn't been around much for the last few months eg 25 January Great to see all the inverness boys today, and wishing them all the best for tomorrow! #toplads #missedtheboys
  4. He's been playing in the French 3rd or 4th division ever since, which is probably a reasonable standard to be fair. Here he is for his latest club, Romorantin, scoring the winning goal in a French Cup tie against Nantes. http://www.fcnantes.com/articles/TV.php?num=6975
  5. He's gone from ineligible to just ineffective. With international defenders like Wilson and Webster in the team, McGlynn must be fuming that his side were beaten by 3 set pieces, with us winning headers in the box for each goal. Great work by Warren etc to win them, but as a manager you'd still expect those balls to be better defended.
  6. Warren has been a fantastic signing, what a find. But personally I think Dods was in a different league altogether. Perhaps the more interesting debate would be Warren v Munro.
  7. A bad miss now and then is part and parcel of the job, but most attacking players do actually get it on or near the target a fair proportion of the time, even Tade! I think Shane's a good footballer on the whole but for some reason his shooting has always been woeful, it really is barn door, coo's erse and banjo stuff. I've always assumed that's why Terry has tried to remould him as a winger. I sometimes wonder what he'd be like in the centre of midfield in the same mould as Liam Keogh when he was at his best.
  8. Did anyone expect him to anything other than blaze it high and wide like he always does? People say "he's not a winger" but he's not a striker either.

Sorry, I seem to have missed out Barrowman.

By getting his 18th league goal of the season, Billy Mackay has overtaken Craig Dargo to to become the ICT player with the highest SPL goal tally in a single season. And there are still 11 games left.
  12. Delighted with that result, great to be back to winning watys, even if it is only against one of the bottom teams! Would never have expected that the game's 5th goal would be the last one, it seemed the sort of game where we'd need to make it 4-2 to secure the win.
  13. Dundee Utd also getting in on the (rather weird) act. What exactly is happening on the trampoline?
  14. I actually think we get all those attributes in our Worst XI, just not all in the same player.
  15. He's not in the same league of awfulness as most of the other names in the XI, but if you are doing a full team line up then who else is there from the SPL era for that position? But I'd also have to add, is there a worse "less good" player to have made over 100 appearances for us?
  16. And Alan Morgan just couldn't run.
  17. He needs to be moved to left back though, with Blackman dropping out, and Proctor stepping in at right back.
  18. Every ICT Worst XI MUST have Darran Thompson, it's the law. Thankfully he hardly featured in the SPL, but I definitely remember seeing him in our Pittdorie days.
  19. Well, not a bad thing per se, as I've always thought of Esson as a good keeper for us. But for some inexplicable reason (unless someone can explic it for me) all 9 of our wins this season have come with Toni in goals whilst we just can't win a game with Esson in goals. None from 11 now. Coincidence?
  20. Before we target minorities like the Poles etc, remember there's an untapped market of tens of thousands of Invernessians who've never been to TCS either.
  21. Esson'll be keeping the jersey then.
  22. According to the official Falkirk site we lost 1-2.

I've no reason to doubt that Terry has valid reasons for picking Ross/Roberts/Sutherland/Polworth over Pepper in recent weeks, but it's a wee bit disappointing all the same, as well all had high hopes earlier in the season that we'd uncovered a gem. Pepper has made more impact coming off the bench in his handful of games than Shane has in about 60 similar opportunities.
  24. Motherwell are 2nd but I'm not convinced they are that good - perhaps they are just a mediocre team that knows how to play ICT. Take away their 9 points from 9 v us and they are down near the bottom with a negative goal difference.
