  1. If I were you I'd be asking ICT to confirm or deny that.
  2. It certainly coped well with the mass exodus before the end
  3. He certainly did. Hayes, who'd been tricky all day but lacked a final ball, eventually put in a great ball to the front post, Shane did really well to get in front of his marker but blazed it over when he only had to keep it down and get it the target to win the game for us. Mind you, that was nothing compared to the chances Hibs missed.
  4. No idea if or why Peter Paul got evicted (as suggested on another thread), but at HT whilst he was at the edge of the pitch I saw that he was talking to a policeman, and it looked like it was about the stewarding as they were looking up to where all the ejections had taken place. I was also told that IHE got chucked out during HT for expressing his views to a steward.
  5. Yep, Ross was (once again, IMO) the weakest link - although he delivered an absolute blinder of a reverse pass to play Rooney in when he cracked the woodwork. Great vision for that, but it was the only thing he did in the game. When Dani came on he seemed to having a roving forward role, and Eric went to left midfield, and then Sutherland took his place there. So 3 left mids and Roy wasn't one of them. Will we ever see him again?! Dani was buzzing when he came on and I think he did more than enough to earn a start. Gillet seemed to strain something when making a clearance just before HT, and Rosscoe went to left back when Innes came on and was pretty solid there.

    Duffy out?

    No there aren't.
  7. Don't know, but you could wash it down with a cup of Civet coffee. People pay a fortune for it.
  8. Aye, the walk to the ground is easy enough, you just follow the various factions of ICT casuals. But if he's going to downtown Leith first that's more of a treck.
  9. Where you are going follows the tram route, but the downside is you might have to wait a while for one to turn up.
  10. I'm counting on them not turning up. Mind you, last time Scotland's opponents failed to appear, we still only got a 0-0 out of it.
  11. Could we maybe add Rockall too, just to reduce the chances of us finishing bottom?
  12. If this whisky was commercially available, I wouldn't mind having a bottle made from my own pee, just to see the look on people's faces when I told them about the vintage they've just downed. Reminds me of giving coffee to visitors who came to see the new baby, then asking if they liked the "organic" milk.
  13. At various times we have discussed our taste in whisky on this site. Personally I prefer mine to have been matured in oak rather than porcelain casks. Taking the piss? I understand though that the inventor could be facing legal action from Carling, who patented the idea of making a drink from urine.
  14. In the last few years, Liechtenstein have had wins against Latvia and Iceland, and draws with Portugal and Slovakia - results which Scotland would have been delighted with! And Lithuania's win in the Czech R last night indicates that our away draw wasn't a bad result. I never expect Scotland to "comfortably beat" anyone!
  15. G) We'll outsing them H) We've got Jonny Hayes, they've only got Derek Riordan.

When we're playing SPL sides we've got to field our best keeper. Until such time as Esson lets us down, there's no chance of us trying out the back up keeper just to see what he's made of.
  17. "The state of Scottish football" As in, top of our qualifying group, unbeaten? I know what you mean, we aren't very good at club or international level. The reality is we are a small fish in a big pond. From about 1960 to 1990 Scotland punched above their weight, perhaps helped by the fact that an awful lot of countries weren't nearly as serious about football as we always have been. I remember in the 1980s countries like Greece and Turkey would get rogered 6-0. But they quickly caught up. As a small country, once or twice in a generation we will get a handful of top class players and the right manager, and get some success. Over the years the likes of Belgium, Hungary, Norway, Croatia, Bulgaria, Ireland, Sweden and Denmark have all had their moments, then usually reverted back to their natural position in world football. Ours is probably 40th-50th in the FIFA rankings, just outside qualification for tournaments. Once in a while we'll get there, but to have any expectation of success is just asking for disappointment if you ask me.
  18. My missus went for 2-1 at 13/1.
  19. Hey, we might get a point
  20. Oh Frick. This is not good. And scoring goals is not our strong point.

Tuffey's strategy here only works if he gets a loan to a club where he will be first choice. So realistically his agent needs to find an English lower league club that isn't happy with its current keeper and has a chunk of its salary budget unspent.
  22. Well done to the Under 21s for their last minute win against Austria earlier. This means they have won their qualifying group. Rather harshly that just puts them through to a 2 leg play off rather than automatic qualification for next summers finals in Denmark. One of the most memorable finished to a match I've attended was in similar circumstances a few years ago. The U21s needed a win to reach the play offs. They were 0-2 down to Lithuania with 10 minutes to go before going all out attack, Steven Hughes getting an injury time winner.
  23. Whilst I applaud any judge who jails Rangers fans, that was a strange and ill informed comment he made. What about the 1996 IRA bombing of Manchester city centre, injuring over 200 people, causing about £1bn of damage and requiring the complete reconstruction of a large area?
  24. I can't decide whether you are some sort of genius or whether you just have waaaaaay too much time on your hands. Given that Neale Cooper never played for Scotland, I wonder if the Indian FA were aware of his eligibility?
