  1. Presumably the County lovers here will be transferring their support from Scotland to England this summer? If you are not supporting England, why not? It's the same logic. Your main team has no chance of glory, so you switch your allegiance to your neighbours, who share a closer cultural and geographical identity than the other participants.
  2. County in 2010 are a much bigger, wealthier, more established team than ICT were in 2000. We had just come up from Division 2 with a team and manager largely from the Highland League, rather thanthe SPL origins that form the base of County these days. County have been battling for promotion, ICT back then were happy to be steering clear of relegation. Perhaps the question has been answered by the media coverage. County's win is the backpage headline today, whereas ours was the front page, everywhere. I note that on the BBC news last night, yesterday's result wasn't even the main sports story. Celtic losing, and losing to lower league teams is par for the course these days, and a first division team reaching the cup final isn't a novelty any more after Gretna and Queens managed it in very recent years. County raised eyebrows across the land, but there are no shock waves.

Rossco likes getting tattoos done because it tickles.
  4. Gabby (Gablonski?) is from Brisbane too.
  5. Although we did get one of our best results of the season today.
  6. I couldn't care less what County get up to except to the extent that it effects us, and I am astonished and disappointed that ICT fans can be in favour of something which is detrimental to our club. Cup success for County helps them in areas where we compete against them in a small local market - attracting new fans, attracting local business sponsorship, and attracting players. This cup run has earned county a fortune, and a win and European football would make them even richer. The "Highland football" fans might like to consider that even if we get promoted, County would be able to offer the likes of Foran, Hayes and Rooney higher wages than we can. So be careful what you wish for.
  7. I suppose it depends what you mean by "bigger result". Games in the later stages of any knock-out tournament are always "bigger" in that there is more at stake, but our win was undoubtedly a bigger shock, no doubt whatsoever. Its just a shame our tie against Celtic wasn't preceeded by home ties against the likes of Inverurie, Berwick and Stirling.
  8. Great result for us.
  9. Yeeesss!!!
  10. Geez, how many red cards did he get!
  11. Bob Harris sent off!
  12. Blow the whistle!
  13. How many of tomorrow's papers will be recycling the famous Sun headline from 10 years ago? Or will they think of something original? It's "our" headline, the original and the best.
  14. Aye, losing. :(
  15. Another consideration is that whilst County are an established Div 1 side who have been battling for promotion all season, ICT in 2000 had just come up from Division 2 and were in the bottom half of the league.
  16. In 2000 nobody believed it was possible for Celtic to lose to a lower league team. These days its pretty common (4 in 10 years). We were the first to do it, and the only ones to do it at Celtic Park.
  17. Saying on the radio that if Dundee Utd get through, County get the opportunity to humiliate Scotland in Europe next season.
  18. Is this the 4th time in 10 years Celtic have been knocked out of the Scottish Cup by a lower league team?
  19. Does this result confirm that Dingwall is 10 years behind Inverness?
  20. If they leave, we could bring back Hastings and some other Canadians to make a maple leaf formation.
  21. Please help. The A9 is just over my back garden fence. Its a nice day and we'd like to be ouside, but I'm worried that the the unprecendented levels of unwashed hoardes, disease and fumes from 1950s agricultural machinery could generate a fatal gas cloud. Should I just seal all the windows and stay inside, or is there time to build a nuclear style underground bunker?
  22. Based on one good performance? He seems to be on good form at the moment but his scoring record this season is nothing special at all, and he got none in 13 games for Clyde last season. But he's still young enough to improve (23) and wages wouldn't be a problem.

Having watched the Morton match highlights, if we had their goalie and Morton had Esson, the result may well have been the other way round.

2nd January 1999, Grant came on as a late sub for Duncan Shearer. David Craig also came off the bench for his debut. Andrew Allan played (and arguably cost us a goal and the game) but had a few appearances before then.
  25. Under normal circumstances they have 6 very winnable games out of those 7. I'd agree with Alex's last sentence.
