  1. Glorious failure is what we do best. But what a joy to watch the way Spain play football. I'm not old enough to remember a better side coming to Scotland. They seemed a league above the likes of the Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands and Argentina sides who have been here any time in the last 20 or so years.
  2. I'm pretty sure that if the ROI manager wanted to pick Foran, it would all be forgotten and he'd be in the squad.
  3. Another point against Levein's approach is that Lithuania, who we saw were a pretty poor side, went to Prague last month and won.
  4. That was just so dismal. The only positive was that there was some very good defending/goalkeeping. I wouldn't blame FIFA for taking steps to have Scotland thrown out of international competitions. At least teams like the Faroes, Liechtenstein etc play with a wee bit of ambition when they lose. Nobody would watch football if they knew it was going to be played the way Scotland played. Not happy :irritated:
  5. BBC now reporting that Dundee were unsuccessful in their latest negociations with HMRC, and administration is now inevitable and imminent. "Dundee" and "unsuccessful" are words that just seem to go well together.
  6. There are certainly plenty of connections between the 2 clubs, and the line up for either side could be: Manager : John Robertson Ass Man: Craig Brewster Line up Nicky Walker Stuart Golabek Steven Watt Richard Hastings Lionel Djebi-Zadi Barry Wilson Don Cowie John Rankin Roy McBain Stevie Hislop Graham Bayne Subs Les Fridge Paul Bradshaw Iain Vigurs Mark McCulloch Alan Morgan Gary McSwegan Garry Wood Useless waste of money Andrew Barrowman
  7. S.C.G.B.C.A.A.
  8. It's a brave and surprising move to drop Miller (when he is in good form and has a pretty good record as a lone striker for Scotland) and bring in someone who will be meeting his new teammates for the first time. Hope he's got this one right.
  9. Congratulations on reaching this millstone.
  10. After a 2 week trial, Mike Fraser seems set to sign for Birkirkara in Malta. Their current keeper recently broke his hand and will be out for months. Malta Independent newspaper
  11. Manic Street Preachers Best band of the 90's if you ask me. Went to see them in Edinburgh on Saturday, got pished and ended up in the airport at 4.30am trying but failing to get on the early flight to Dublin. Always a sign of a good night.
  12. Good question. I think it's very close to Cromarty.
  13. Interesting. Either that or his side had submitted their stance in writing and are confident that they will win the case regardless of whether they attend. If the case centres on legal interpretation of a contract or point of law then they probably don't need to be there. But I would guess that ICT were quite pleased that Marius was not represented.
  14. Pic 32 - what's happened to the guy at the top left of the stairs?
  15. On Sportscene, Derek McInnes commented that he knows what a talent Hayes is and tried to sign him in the summer.
  16. It's probably more polite and coherent than any correspondence they are getting from their own fans. Oh, and if St Mirren fans can be described as disgruntled, does that mean we are gruntled?
  17. I see the Dundee players didn't get paid today, which is never a good sign. Presumably any money Dundee have got is being used to pay their new signing and highest paid star, Blair Nimmo.
  18. He's had a few games for them now, but the early concensus on their fans forum is that he isn't good enough. There are some very familiar sounding comments: doesn't have the pace to play on the wing, can't beat a man, and can't tackle. As somebody mentioned in another thread, Steven Watt scored for Grimsby tonight.
  19. We certainly did during his first spell at the club. In fact I think that's where he played on Feb 8th 2000, and he was excellent that night.
  20. He's not even worth a short term deal as emergency cover if he hasn't had a pre-season or been in full time training since then. In fact his last game for Hamilton seems to have been in January. So it's a no from me too, I think his 2 spells with us were more than enough.
  21. Awww, isn't it sweet when children want to go and visit daddy at work.
  22. Just out of interest did our Terry ever play in the same England team as Gazza? They would both have been around in the late 80's I think.
  23. Wipe the debt away and start afresh, yet again? Not good news for Jocky and Farningham who I believe are each claiming a 6 figure sum.
  24. I was trying to find out how Marius is getting on this season, and stumbled across this article from a few weeks ago. Still at Dinamo, but... The bit I found interesting was: Sound familiar?
  25. You can get some more brownie points by pointing out that she's better looking than the actual winner. I certainly know which one I'd rather, erm, go to the football with!
