  1. Tied to the pole so it doesn’t fly away or kill the chickens! Don’t really know, but they are commonly used in falconry.
  2. FT 1-1, that’s a good point.
  3. I think the club and fans will be very happy with this draw.
  4. I was following today’s ICT result from the Jeanfield Swifts v Elgin game, lending support to my local team for this Scottish Cup tie. I went expecting to see a competitive cup tie but didn’t get that. 6-0 to Jeanfield Elgin were atrocious and offered absolutely nothing. Ross Draper looked exasperated (and slow).
  5. Really good result, delighted with that and I’m encouraged that Wotherspoon could be a big player for us.
  6. Harris Hawk I think.
  7. Painful memories of Sheridan. Cup tie v Celtic in 2007 was his debut for them and he set up their winning goal in injury time.
  8. We are accustomed to Doran getting injured but it’s still a shame. I was slightly surprised that he got a contract extension this summer but he’s shown that he could still make a contribution to the first team this season.
  9. It’s great to qualify and to have an interest in the build up to the tournament over the next 8 months or so. I was walking up and down a beach in Mexico today trying to get mobile reception to follow the score, it was a nice moment when I got confirmation it was full time.
  10. Had to go through a 9 hour flight with no idea of the result until we landed. Mixed feelings, like most of us. Stating the obvious but great to keep a clean sheet, not so great to not score or create much up front. The classic way to turn round a failing team is t9 sort the defence first so maybe that is encouraging.
  11. Dunfermline made him an offer a couple of months ago.
  12. I saw Duncan Ferguson mentioned as 50/1 to be new manager of Rangers. It’s simply not gonna happen, but I think those might be shorter odds than you’d have got on him becoming ICT manager!
  13. Would have been better if nobody had risen to Dougal’s bait, because now he’s going to conclude that only a handful of our fans deny his assertion!
  14. Interesting that at 3-0 up we understandably made a couple of defensive substitutions to ensure we held the lead, then conceded 2.
  15. I was supposed to be going to this match but something cropped up this morning and I was gutted to have to change plans. But I was confident we were going to win, and with the money I saved on a ticket I backed us at the very generous odds that were available.
  16. Phew. But we won! We’ve won a game! We scored 3 goals too!
  17. Some people might consider Big Dunc a bit intimidating but he’s actually very touchy feely, likes to put an arm round etc.
  18. It has been moved from Tuesday 31st October to Saturday 18th November.
  19. I don’t think anybody (except Dodds) was saying it just needed more time. The club’s decision was based on them concluding that a different manager could get more out of the squad and better results than Dodds was getting.
  20. Here’s an observation that just struck me after writing that - our happiest times have been with defenders as manager (Paterson, Butcher, Hughes). Then a succession of forwards got us to where are today.
  21. That’s 4 consecutive ICT managers who were attackers for Scotland. This attacking mentality is why we are such a, erm, free scoring side?
  22. Last season Dundee Utd fans were wanting Big Dunc as manager and everybody laughed at them for being unrealistic and getting ideas above their station. And now we have landed him. This aspect of it makes me smile and has been mentioned already to my Utd supporting friends and colleagues.
  23. It’s a pity we didn’t appoint him in the summer, we’d have sold more season tickets, attracted better players and might not be bottom of the league!
  24. Gets us more compensation when Dundee Utd come in for him next season.
